This was needed years ago. I no longer use primer tubes in my reloading process. I tried all the tube loaders and gave up. I now prime my cases during the case insptection/decapping process using a Lee primer loader. If I wasn't, I would buy this.
You don't want that because if a primer flashes off, it will detonate the entire thing. The Dillon tube is strong enough to contain the blast but a plastic container full of primers is bound to send fragments everywhere.
I agree with Jason and Bootin...Direct feed into the machine. Make it 550, 650, 750, 1050, 1100 complaint. Just tell me where to send some cash! Flash off???? Really...You must be beating on your machine with a ball peen hammer!!!
Cool, I've got the Frankford Arsonel buzzzy loader and it's ok, but this would be a fantastic addition. But as Marcus Palmer said doing both large and small would be a bonus !
I definitely want one. I gave a try to the one from Frankfurt Arsenal but that one didn't work as I expected it. I was actually surprised as I have other products from that brand that work perfectly well like their wet tumbler. But now that someone designed this machine I think I'm going to order it. Thank you for the review and the always so well produced videos.
Needs magnets for 2 tubes, so you keep ahead without changing magnets or waiting to fill a tube. Great looking idea. Just like anything I have seen from them.
just checked the product page referenced Seems this product has quite some restrictions. 1. works only with dillon tubes 2. works not with all primers 3. Users have reported they have to make adjustments to the rig otherwise it would not work
Oh this is a God sent device. I am so happy someone is trying to remove the bottleneck priming causes in production. I am going to look into one of these asap.
Sure looks good, better than Dillon's unit. Was hoping it'd be closer to $100. If my reloading volume increases I might reconsider. It'd really help if it could do both sizes of primers, that's the biggest issue.
I would only buy one if I could shoot a LOT more. Unless you’re loading a ton of ammunition (and already run a case and bullet feeder) I can’t imagine justifying it. You pretty much need to be just pulling the handle and watching the electronic alarms for powder charge, primer level, powder level, etc. I don’t even shoot enough to justify a case feeder. After a 100-300 rounds I am going to take a little break. Walk around a little bit. Sit down and load up a few more primer tubes, then get going again. It’s a great gizmo, but it’s only for high volume users.
Heck with the primer tube reloader what about the table! Neat how the reloading machine rides on rails so it can move side to side. Anyway the tube step to be eliminated so the primer loader can be attached directly onto the reloading machine's primer feed?
for that price id expect it to sit on the press and load small and large primers. maybe I would be more interested in version 2. I sure do hate loading primer tubes though
Midway sold a vibrating primer loader for Dillon primer tubes for a lot less, a lot less, that worked. It was available years ago and I’ve been using it for years. Is is great for buck reloading
I"m definatly down for one. Pre-ordered. I do have the FA Vibraprime and hate it with Winchester primers. And yes, I have tweaked the heck out of it and it is better than when I got it, but still a major PITA. Can't wait for this!!!
With a small needle file, I opened up the small primer hole just a tit towards the tray side and the Winchester primers flow now; just like CCI and Federal do.
Am getting one for sure have Mark 7 650 Pro that runs 9mm at 810 per hour and don't start it unless I do a thousand. Currently use FA Vibra Prime modified and do a thousand primers in 10 tubes in about 7 minutes but you REALLY need to pay attention
Gavin must have received a special hand tuned prototype. My production model has tolerance problems with the plastic parts. It is very finicky. When it gets down to the last 20 primers my unit might get half of them passed to the tube but it could literally take half an hour. Fill it with 300 primers and start it. I can fill 2 tubes by hand, the old fashioned way before it will fill one tube. It has slots for the primers 360 degrees around the mechanism. They will only pass through the wheel on one small approximately 30 degree section that will actually pass primers. The one in this video works great. Mine passes between 0 to 3 primers per complete wheel revolution. It frequently “times out” and stops itself after making several revolutions without dropping a single primer. I must continually restart it. It is a huge time drain to get tubes loaded. My Dillon 1050 will prime cases faster than this device will fill tubes causing constant stoppages to my work flow. I really can’t recommend it.
How many magnets does it come with? Seems like installing and removing the magnet, plus setting the clearance, takes longer than filling the tube, even longer than the old way.
$200 you have options. DAA, get guy at exit with will work for food sign to fill your tubes as you load, tell the kids to fill the tubes as a chore, or even stop at your local Lowes for some over the border help.
Loading primers manually into tubess was the worst part of reloading. My solution was Hornady's "1911 auto primer." It is several times faster than that, 1/4 the cost, and can do either large or small primers. Total time to load 100 primers from primer package in hand to tube in press, about 15 seconds
Yes i would buy it. Now having another kind of vibrating platform for loading primers every 7 minutes. Problem is when my MARK VII drives at 1200 rounds per hour which is 20 rounds a minute, after 5 minutes Dillon’s primer tube is empty. So have to hurry between loader and primer, cause I only want to load primer tube for cartridge made. Don’t want to stock the wall on used primers.
Did Saul discuss how the unit would mitigate static electricity build up? I know some plastics when rubbing together generate static electricity and that would be bad with 400 primers. That would make a big mess. That is a real concern for folks living in very dry climates. Secondly, I can see my clumsy self knocking off the Primer-Pro off the bench. I think he needs to some sort of mount to keep me from bumping it off.
Loved your video on the Primer Pro. I am going to order one. Next question - Where can I get the slide rail/locks that you have on your reloading bench. I really want a set of those. Thanks.
I really enjoy reloading I try to have everything match Lymann and I only reload for my .308 precision rifle and my ELR 300 rum so the hand held primer seater is all I need but this looks like a really cool unit and would be very helpful if someone is loading bull 223
Nice, but $200, that is a big hit for what it does, been using the FA VibraPrime for years, it was less than $50, and works like a champ, yeah it does not run while I am working the press, but for $150ish bucks less, that is a trade off I am willing to make.
That's what I use as well. I load 5 or 6 tubes in the amount of time it took to explain about the error code blinking lights and the failsafe.... what?
The VibraPrime did not work for me. Primers would not go down the hole for some reason, I don't think I need to do anything special to make the product work so I returned it. I really wanted it to work. This machine may not be cheap, but it's cheaper than the one from Dillon and appears to have a better design and more flexibility. I'm willing to giving it a try.
Eliezer Rodriguez, take the tops of the Dillon tubes off, and just load straight into the tubes, then put the tops back on when finished. That’s all. Works like a charm. I load 10 tubes, then start my reloading.
dagamore, but, but, but, it doesn't say Dillon or Double Alpha on the side. hahaha Mine FA works just fine. I load up a bunch of tubes in advance of a reloading session.
I just ordered one of these, they have a good bundle deal with some small primer Dillon primer tubes and magnetic collars. if you haven't already tried one, test the Double Alpha powder test die.
cool gaget, I wouldn't be able to justify the price. For $200 I think I could find a better way to get the tubes filled. But I don't reload and shoot as much as some.
I shouldn't bitch about it being only for small primers. But, an added selling factor for it would be to have both options available. With a few parts swap, it'd be a nice feature to have both a large and small primer dispenser!
Something I found first time. The screws that hold feeder plate are very fussy. Too tight and primers won't make it to the top. Too loose and primers may get to tube upside down. I had to watch the tubes fill 6 times before it worked correctly. The hopper seems to always have 2 or 3 not able to get to top
So how long does it take to fill 1 primer tube? I thought you would have covered that in the video. Also can you really call it a pro if it only loads small primers? What if you want to load large primers? Do you need a second magnetic collar to fill a second tube in the background while your using the first tube of primers?
1st you said you have to throw away a round with an upside down primer, not, just break it down and deprime, 2nd nice unit but would most definitely be far better if it press mounted and would handel large and small. But given its small only, still very nice but really should mount to press. And with its sensory sophistication they should have taken it that one step further to press mount and only drop on an empty or half empty tube. But thats me. I would still use it. Load a dozen tubes and have them in the ready in a bench rack with a saftey shield. For the price it's in line with other coalators(yea i know spelling) that are mounted on a dillions or other progressive presses, with the expetion of lee which works flawlessly once moded inexpensively. My only other and most biggest concern would be the break down and cleaning as primer dust can build up over time and that can be dangerous. This really should be addressed.
I've emailed Dillon and Federal and they both said that using Federal primers in a progressive press was a bad idea due to increased risk of detonation. I also heard that Lee specifically warns against Federal primers in their presses. Have you heard of this?
Never had a problem with Federal primers large/small on my XL650. I did detonate a large primer trying to fit into a small primer .45 auto case on a Lee Loadmaster one time, rang my ears but that was it. Now I hate loading .45 auto because of the primer size variations.
Nice! But $200. I will just keep going with Frankford Arsenal Vibra Prime. It works very well for me. I am sure they will mount them on progressive in one day. Thanks for sharing!
Hello, I have just got to terms with me new Apex 10 Mark 7 reloading press in 9mmP, and I wish to start slowly automating it. So, what is the best or recommended primer upgrade?
I could never get my Frankford Arsenal Vibra Prime to work, all the hours I spent troubleshooting it could’ve been used to load primer tubes. This looks WAY better!
i must have been mistaken, but when this was announced i thought it was a primer collator that was mounted on the press that allowed one to not need to refill tubes . kinda like a bullet or case feeder , bot primer feeder
You could always buy the Mark 7 Revolution. That press is fully automated with primers collated on the press. Just dump in brass, powder, primers and bullets and press go. www.markvii-loading.com/loading-presses/revolution/101-1023.html
Hi Gavin just watching the PrimerPro video Had a thought if you can find a permanent place on your bench for the Primer Pro why not drill a hole through the bench for the tube to sit in Regards Mark from the UK
Love the last 2 videos on (Evolution and this) reloading, unfortunately, the $ is way up above my wallet, I'll stick to my LEE and RCBS. Great to see the items in use though.
I'm a gadget fan and like picking up reloading tools that help improve any process. This is for sure a cool tool, but the cost/benefit is just not there for me. My FA Vibra Prime was 1/10 the cost of this, is faster (~10 seconds to load a primer tube) and has a zero foot print on my bench (handle and tray fit on a shelf [on top of other stuff] or in a drawer). This is a tool for the reloader that has high end everything and cost is no issue (and bench space [and given the angle of the pickup tube, it must sit ~a FOOT over the edge of your bench...challenging to mount [as the video shows] or just rest over the edge when in use, careful not to knock it over or primers will be everywhere [not sure if the lid locks/snaps as the video shows it just sits atop the unit]). Now if they came out with a version that doesn't feed a tube, but can DIRECTLY feed your press' primer system (akin to bullet feeders or shell casing feeders), that would be a tool I'd be willing to pay this amount for. Maybe a future version. If they can feed a primer tube, they can figure out a way to design/mount this to a shell/bullet feeder arm to let gravity work and feed this into the press' primer tube instead of a pickup tube that you still have to manually transfer to the press' primer system.
Been thinking about a primer filler. Was looking at Dillon, but this one doesn't vibrate! Not that's a big issue, but... Now if they design this to somehow mount onto the press bypassing tubes entirely, though that would most likely only work with a 1050.
I saw a picture of a Dillon loader mounted on a press using gently bent tubbing. I have a hand operated 1050 but I was Googling bulk primer feeds for reloading. With case/bullet feeders and motor operated presses I could not imagine they stopped an automated machine every 100 rounds. I think you are correct about the 1050, the priming system is stationary.
Looks to me as the preparation to start loading the tube is time consuming and failiure prone. The collar has to be there at the right hight and you have to fiddle it on and remove it each time. What happens if you are too shallow with the magnetic collar ? Jams? Can primers flip? And finally , it should be sitting on top of the station. If I spend $200 for such a thing than it has to be intigrated into my setup.
I have fun in the entire process it's my hobby . It doesn't bother me to load up 10 primer tubes . But the main problem now is finding primers 😂
TEST Fifty I used Midwayusa and Natchez shooter supply. Both had primers but shipping took close to a month. Not sure how they’re looking now though.
Facts.
Primers are the new unicorn.
The clamps on your workbench are fantastic.
I'm just watching this to remember what primers look like. Ah, the dystopian hellscape we've created for ourselves.
This was needed years ago. I no longer use primer tubes in my reloading process. I tried all the tube loaders and gave up. I now prime my cases during the case insptection/decapping process using a Lee primer loader. If I wasn't, I would buy this.
Never had a issue with my tube loader and have put thousands through it.
now if they just make this so it sits up top and feeds straight to the press...
i was just going to comment this statement! if they did that i would tell them shut up and take my money! lol.
Don't see why one can't mount it up high with a longer or shorter tube attached. Just need to make the mounting brackets.
So buy a Mark 7 and you can get that option.
Only one size is a deal breaker. I'll wait until the 2.0 version comes out!
Your wit is over!!! LOL
the PrimeVibe is here ;-)
Cool, I've got the Frankford Arsonel buzzzy loader and it's ok, but this would be a fantastic addition. But as Marcus Palmer said doing both large and small would be a bonus !
Got the Dillon rf100 primer filler. Best purchase ever. Looks like this one works decent as well and definitely costs less.
Dude the vibra prime from frankford arsenal!!!! And a handful of tubes you can load 1,000 primers in 10 tubes in 10 minutes.
I've got a similar Hornady product and I agree completely!
For The Win. Vibra-Prime from Frankford arsenal. Hands down.
I really like the looks of this product. I'm putting it on my wish list.
I definitely want one. I gave a try to the one from Frankfurt Arsenal but that one didn't work as I expected it. I was actually surprised as I have other products from that brand that work perfectly well like their wet tumbler. But now that someone designed this machine I think I'm going to order it. Needs magnets for 2 tubes, so you keep ahead without changing magnets or waiting to fill a tube. Great looking idea. Just like anything I have seen from them.
Just found out about this TH-cam channel. I need sleep I keep watching.
Welcome!
Nice! Double Alpha makes some good stuff!
This thing is RAD. Pumped to start using it!!!
Videos are very well produced! I don't have the budget for an "Exact" sizing die but am looking forward to your review. South African maker
When I get a press that looks like a must have.
Ordered mine and can’t wait since mostly all I load in mass is small primers.
Perfect!
gavintoobe would you be interested in building a 300 prc for me
Those DAA fellas are Hella smart!!
Unit looks like a time saver,if one was able to obtain primers. Thanks!
just checked the product page referenced
Seems this product has quite some restrictions.
1. works only with dillon tubes
2. works not with all primers
3. Users have reported they have to make adjustments to the rig otherwise it would not work
Oh this is a God sent device. I am so happy someone is trying to remove the bottleneck priming causes in production. I am going to look into one of these asap.
I just got one of these and it works great. I only wish it would run out all of the primers.
Sure looks good, better than Dillon's unit. Was hoping it'd be closer to $100. If my reloading volume increases I might reconsider. It'd really help if it could do both sizes of primers, that's the biggest issue.
That is awesome, can’t wait for it to come to market & hopefully improve on it like 1000 primer hopper.
'm going to stick with Vibra Prime. I would like to see a comparison of all the current devices.
I had two different Vibra Prime units, neither one worked right, I finally gave up after spending well over an hour trying to load 100 primers.
like your workshop and the shop video you made bud, that is sweet setup
I would only buy one if I could shoot a LOT more.
Unless you’re loading a ton of ammunition (and already run a case and bullet feeder) I can’t imagine justifying it. You pretty much need to be just pulling the handle and watching the electronic alarms for powder charge, primer level, powder level, etc.
I don’t even shoot enough to justify a case feeder. After a 100-300 rounds I am going to take a little break. Walk around a little bit. Sit down and load up a few more primer tubes, then get going again.

Heck with the primer tube reloader what about the table! Neat how the reloading machine rides on rails so it can move side to side.
Anyway the tube step to be eliminated so the primer loader can be attached directly onto the reloading machine's primer feed?
Would like one for large primers as I load mainly 45 acp large primers! Nice accessory!
for that price id expect it to sit on the press and load small and large primers. maybe I would be more interested in version 2. I sure do hate loading primer tubes though
Midway sold a vibrating primer loader for Dillon primer tubes for a lot less, a lot less, that worked. It was available years ago and I’ve been using it for years. Is is great for buck reloading

With a small needle file, I opened up the small primer hole just a tit towards the tray side and the Winchester primers flow now; just like CCI and Federal do.
It wouldn't take much to attach that to the press and have it configured similar to the other feeding systems.
@Matt Lord that's probably phase 2 of the product.
best one so far
Very good stuff, I will be definitely looking at one of these for future bulk reloading purposes!
Why didn't they make a mount for above the machine and have it connect to the primer tube just like the brass and bullet feeders?
This will really save a lot of time and frustration.
Had to polish the ramp and lightly sand the drop hole for consistent operation. I’m betting 2.0 is what I should have waited for but I’m ok for now.
I might buy one if primers ever become available again.
Am getting one for sure have Mark 7 650 Pro that runs 9mm at 810 per hour and don't start it unless I do a thousand. Currently use FA Vibra Prime modified and do a thousand primers in 10 tubes in about 7 minutes but you REALLY need to pay attention
Definitely going to get one
My now grown children have fond memories of loading primer tubes :-D
Now if I could score some primers!!!
what and when for large primers ?
Loading primers manually into tubess was the worst part of reloading. My solution was Hornady's "1911 auto primer." It is several times faster than that, 1/4 the cost, and can do either large or small primers. Total time to load 100 primers from primer package in hand to tube in press, about 15 seconds
Completely agree. Takes me less than a minute to load a tube.
seems pretty nice i guess the only thing to make better is having more tubes to load so one or two are always ready to go !
You actually only need one- fills in 30 seconds while you're loading! :)
Really hope they or the aftermarket makes a solution to hook it directly to your press.
Love your channel!
I would purchase today if they did large primers.
Great information all the time.
Just ordered one. Thx
I would like to see one under my Christmas tree 🎄
will this work will all primer tube or just dillion? can you use this with say hornady tubes?
Will it grow hair on bold head?
be great when they do the setup for both small and large primers.
I really enjoy reloading I try to have everything match Lymann and I only reload for my .308 precision rifle and my ELR 300 rum so the hand held primer seater is all I need but this looks like a really cool unit and would be very helpful if someone is loading bull 223
only for Dillon or will it fit any progressive press?
What if you just directly link the primer pro to the primer feed tube on the press?
Are your reloading benches for sale anywhere?
thanks
have you been using the Primer Pro since you got it? Any issues?
Nice, but $200, that is a big hit for what it does, been using the FA VibraPrime for years, it was less than $50, and works like a champ, yeah it does not run while I am working the press, but for $150ish bucks less, that is a trade off I am willing to make.
And you can always have more tubes loaded up ready to use. Usually after 400 rds or so, I'm ready for a little break anyway.
That's what I use as well. I load 5 or 6 tubes in the amount of time it took to explain about the error code blinking lights and the failsafe.... what?
The VibraPrime did not work for me. Primers would not go down the hole for some reason, I don't think I need to do anything special to make the product work so I returned it. dagamore, but, but, but, it doesn't say Dillon or Double Alpha on the side. hahaha
Mine FA works just fine. I load up a bunch of tubes in advance of a reloading session.
How do you deal with crimped primer pockets in 5.56 brass? These must be properly swaged or reamed, or the primer won't fit.
which way are they oriented in the drop? could this be adapted to a Lee 6 Pack Pro?
Will this do large primers? And if not will it do large primers on their next upgrade?
I just ordered one of these, they have a good bundle deal with some small primer Dillon primer tubes and magnetic collars. if you haven't already tried one, test the Double Alpha powder test die.
Congrats, you'll love this thing. Magnetic die- hoping to try it this coming year... :)
cool gaget, I wouldn't be able to justify the price.
Do they make one that you can use on Hornady progressive reloaders
Do they make one for Hornady progressive reloaders
Does this only work for Dillon presses? I have a hornady lnl ap
I'd love to have one but, I only use large primers for all my rifles and only 2 9mm.
Can the unit be fixed on the bench to avoid accidentally fall?
Something I found first time. The screws that hold feeder plate are very fussy. Too tight and primers won't make it to the top. Too loose and primers may get to tube upside down. I had to watch the tubes fill 6 times before it worked correctly. The hopper seems to always have 2 or 3 not able to get to top
So how long does it take to fill 1 primer tube? I thought you would have covered that in the video. Also can you really call it a pro if it only loads small primers? What if you want to load large primers? Do you need a second magnetic collar to fill a second tube in the background while your using the first tube of primers?
Fills in about 30 seconds! Only "need" one tube :)
Oh Lord... Another step closer to heaven!!
HAHAHAHA, well said!!!!!
1st you said you have to throw away a round with an upside down primer, not, just break it down and deprime, 2nd nice unit but would most definitely be far better if it press mounted and would handel large and small. I've used all types of Primers on Dillon 1100, Evo Mark 7, never had an issue with detonation from "ANY" primers!
Never had a problem with Federal primers large/small on my XL650. I did detonate a large primer trying to fit into a small primer .45 auto case on a Lee Loadmaster one time, rang my ears but that was it. Now I hate loading .45 auto because of the primer size variations.

Yep, very nice!

You could design something to make it work that way
Hi Gavin just watching the PrimerPro video Had a thought if you can find a permanent place on your bench for the Primer Pro why not drill a hole through the bench for the tube to sit in

Agreed.
Is this compatible to work with the Hornady primer tube as well?
That’s cool not a bad price 👈👍👍
I like the concept, but at $323 plus change, I can buy a lot of primers for that. I will stay with the old method, cheers
where can i buy it
My Frankford Arsenal Vibra Prime does the same thing for a quarter the price.
You sound like the kind of person that is a real
joy to be around…
I was hoping for another box inside the smaller box.
now. wouldn't it be cool if you could just mount this directly onto the tube feed on your press?
