    #notificationsquad. Amazing video again. Loving these tips 💡.
    Regarding drum loops if they are so dry, I make a return track with a eq cut below 12kHz and add a small room reverb. It's just made the whole loop to come alive.
    If it lacks power adding another return track with a saturator,a compressor and compressor it heavily then add it to the mix.
    Helped me a lot when I was just starting out ,using drum loops and had no idea how to program drums.
    Keep the tips coming sanjay. 😍

    Nice tutorial showing how to convert drums loops to a drum rack. I must say though as a professional producer the sliced drum rack seems to have lost a lot of humanisation and real life feel of the original drum loop. I'd say a lot more tweaking would be needed to get the midi drums sitting as well as the original loop.

    • @SanjayC
      @SanjayC  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Paul, I learned this over time by experimenting with different options in Ableton. I usually come across a problem while I make music and then try to figure out how to do it in Ableton. Once you know how to slice in Simpler, then you just need to experiment with converting those slices into a usable rack to do the next step - tuning. So lots of trial and error, and I write down my steps as I go along - what works, what doesn't.

    Hey when i slice to new midi all the samples are a different, lower sound level. Why would it be doing this?

  • @lars4422
    @lars4422 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey Sanjay, great video! I have a question though; 4:27 Pulling the sensitivity down should not create slices for (example) hi hats as I understand it. You want only the main hits.
    When I do this though, drag the sensitivity down, it still slices the full loop, only makes it, for example, 1 slice, instead with a higher sensitivity, 6 slices.
    TLDR; you seem to filter out hi hats completely with the sensitivity, while mine is still being played, only in 1 slice, instead of 6. Do you know what I am doing wrong?

    After watching this video, I feel that as a Logic Pro X user, I still need to explore more on sampling. I am also annoyed that, as a Midi Key, I should choose LaunchKey 49 MK3? Or NI Komplete Kontrol A49? It's hard to decide which one is better for Logic Pro X users.

    Dude sorry off topic.........you know how the volca keys has the flat keyboard so you can slide into notes............is there a separate midi controller that is just a keyboard that’s flat like that so you can slide into notes that way?
    I know about the roli but you know what I mean right?

    • @SanjayC
      @SanjayC  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I know what you mean. I think there are other MPE devices like ROLI that do that. Arturia's Microfreak has a similar keyboard but with bumps in between - I find that it doesn't truly slide like ROLI, it plays individual notes as you slide.

    • @jdssurf
      @jdssurf 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sanjay C you can’t slide from key to key on the seaboard roli though can you

    • @jdssurf
      @jdssurf 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh wait it does kinda slide at the top that’s right. Kinda different though. Didn’t know the micro freak had bumps, I’ll have to look again. They need to make a little keyboard by itself like that
