I'm so excited! Played the demo and it enjoyed it a lot. Though my time is currently occupied by other games, work, etc. and since I want to play this game blind myself, I'll be back at a later date for your playthrough. So for now I wish you lots of fun!
An Atlus geme protagonist that actually speaks in full sentences? Bloody finally. A bit too meek for my liking, but the MC is likable enough for me. Old man death flags do be like that. Being an old Veteran in JRPGs guarantee they're dying. Honestly in fire emble 3 houses im supprised our veteran dad lasted as long as he did. ---- I won't deny. Im happy that Louis is a calculating villain that isnt a bumbling idiot in high positions so far. Dude was commoner that reached great heights with an even Mix of Talent and hard work. And the reason why he isn't executed immediately makes alot of sense. If the majority of a nations Army puts this war hero on a pedestal that he actually backs up, it's hard to find evidence that stick. Especially since im willing to bet that he could be considered a secondary deterrent against invaders next to the king Also, comment for the algorithm.
This definitely is one of the more meaty demo's of a game, I myself got about 14 hours on hard reading every bit of NPC dialogue and lore bits doing all the available quests so far, and doing a optional dungeon. I like the SMT strange journey energy I have gotten from the game as well, both from the soundtrack but also somewhat in regards to the general vibe being closer.
20:20 😂 I love that the background music is fairy magic! It was getting eerie with no soundtrack, after all. 44:15 😂 Glad you’re excited about Vernacular fitting, but poor protag-kun X))) At least Vernac sounds like a name X))) Then again, it’s also nice lore to have a name so off the wall when you seem to be the last of your kind, or damn near it. Oh my god, I love the book. The fantasy of our real world, which we as the player know is not true, it’s idealized… Love the subversion :) 1:00:45 I wonder if the Prince is our narrator… The narrator showed us the exact same illustration as the one in the book. The calendar shows him. He asked us to guide the protagonist… I suspect he’s doing all of this through kingly magic. Guess the prince grew up to have a deep voice :) 1:04:35 You know what, I change my mind. Vernacular is actually a great name when a book is so important to the narrative, and stories are a major theme. Strangely thematic in this case ^_^ 1:06:30 Omg, her helmet is so cute! No other armor though… I wonder why she needs one at all X))) Woooow. A human, huh? Oh, the lore, the lore… Can’t wait to find out :) 1:33:00 Whoa… That whole entire sequence. Suddenly, mecha. Also, “bound for the throne”? Not “to the throne”? Might protagonist-kun replace the prince? Archetype, ahaha. Still Persona ;) Wait, no. This is humans versus archetypes. Stories. And the goddess mentioned fears and anxiety. Oooh, I think I sense the theme now. 1:37:49 Oooh, the voice line. “Come forth, royal soul!” We’re using king’s magic, huh.
The way I'm already obsessed with this after like 10 seconds!!! I love how I get to know so many fantastic games via your channel as this was so not on my radar.
Definition of a metaphor: it is comparing two things without the use of the words like or as I wonder, as we watch or you playing, what will have to compare to another
So I'm back after finishing the game just yesterday evening and damn, do I love it! Feels like the accumulation of Atlus best and it's now my game of the year (Uniciorn Overlord being a close second). But damn, was I hooked so fast in those two hours you showed here already when I played them myself. And I love how your reaction to the MC's voice was the same as mine xD So I'm looking forward to your opinion and reactions while I'm playing along through my second playthrough.
I'm loving the art style so much. Atlus makes some of the most beautiful games. Yeesh, that death scene, though. Death and mayhem from the start!! Maybe Regicide opens up on full release. Gallica sounds like Amanozako VA. Why is everyone either arrogant or rude?!! Why is the captain such an ass?!HuYep, humans are monsters. This is going to be absolute wild playthrough.
This game is certainly oozing with style, and the setting feels strange and familiar at the same time. Very intriguing. Also, what the heck was that summon animation xD Looking forward to this playthrough, it's gonna be great!
You'll see it when you read the lore stuff but everyone with animals ears are Paripus. So the "mouse people" and the "dog people" are not separate tribes
1:18:54 what happened here is that your attack broke it from being stunned as you can see above. I believe how it works is every attack enemies suffer gives them a chance of recovering from being stunned.
Looking forward to playing this myself when the demo downloads. You keep saying the city people sound rude. I hadn't noticed; to me they just sound like home :D
They are bad but apparently you CAN get native 4K if you switch from borderless to full screen. And at that point that would mean 200% scaling would be 8K which is honestly weird af.
That will be the goal but of course I can't promise anything cause I don't know if I'd be able to do it. I won't make a promise I don't know I can keep. I tried in Persona 3 Reload and fell short, I did get it on Persona 5 Royal though. I can promise a thorough try for completion but I certainly can't guarantee it. I'm just as blind on this game as everyone else.
Turn off dash effects in settings to get rid of the blur. If you already covered it I didn't see the whole video because I was trying to look at the gameplay without spoilers for the scenes.
another thought i had about this game - in the fantasy world of the prince's book, they say there is only one tribe. i.e., only one race. Which is obviously an allusion to the book kind of saying that our IRL world is the fantasy world, although it's super idealized with no prejudice. But also, it's kind of sad and a bit fucked up, isn't it? Because it seems like a compromise. Gallica even mentioned it - she said "So there are no fairies in this book?" It's almost like it's implying in order to achieve this ideal, there can only be one race. But the world of Metaphor, which has many different races such as the horned people, fairies, dog people, etc just has too much difference to achieve the same ideal. Not fun to think about.
So, watched the full episode now. I enjoyed it a lot, far more than I ever enjoyed SMTV. Only nitpicks are the chanting in the I suppose normal battle theme (I just don't like chanting) and to me, some of the portrait characters bear too much of a resemblance to other Atlus characters. Maybe I'm going mad there, but I don't think so.
@@AnalogVernacular Gallica reminds me of P3R Yukari, the Young Nobleman you end up battling with looks like Vincent from Catherine to me (although now I've googled an image of him, I must be thinking of someone else - maybe I was thinking of Yu from P4), and the Igniter Merchantess reminds me of Hifumi. It's all nitpicks - I'm even watching it all through a second time because I enjoyed it that much.
Gallica is Syphas VA from Castlevania show!
@@AUsefulNPC it’s also FUCKING FUTABA

Soul Hackers 2
1:17:42 I love the battle music too, I heard it somewhere a while ago not realizing it was from this game and its been rattling around my brain since!
Shout out to the chupacabra , wherever you are...

Can’t wait for switch 2 and this on it!

Cant wait to watch this whole series/ play this game!
My fav lets play channel, keep it up
Let’s goooooooooo. Glad I already played the demo, incredibly excited for this game AND your playthrough. A brand new Atlus world is so damn exciting.
So I'm back after finishing the game just yesterday evening and damn, do I love it! Feels like the accumulation of Atlus best and it's now my game of the year (Uniciorn Overlord being a close second).

Dude yes! I was hoping you'd play this! Looking forward to living vicariously throigh you once again, hope it lives up to the hype!
Thank you for paying attention to the races
ohhh im excited for this playthrough

If you want to set the game to 4k, you need to select fullscreen. Borderless Full will lock it to 1440
This game is certainly oozing with style, and the setting feels strange and familiar at the same time. Very intriguing. Also, what the heck was that summon animation xD
Looking forward to this playthrough, it's gonna be great!
A new adventure as begun ! Let's go !
I picked up metaphor yesterday for my birthday loving the game so far it’s awesome 😎
You'll see it when you read the lore stuff but everyone with animals ears are Paripus. So the "mouse people" and the "dog people" are not separate tribes
Strohl is voiced by Stewart Clarke, who also voiced our boy Dion in FF16!
Nice
let's goooo!!!!
Imagine if the MC just decided to choose to die in obscurity - would've been a funny secret ending
The boss designs are all based on the art of 15th century Dutch painter Heironymus Bosch. His art is pretty wild
Bosch is a hell of a trip..... wow.
1:18:54 what happened here is that your attack broke it from being stunned as you can see above. I believe how it works is every attack enemies suffer gives them a chance of recovering from being stunned.
Im super gassed for this game😤
The music is amazing!
Looking forward to playing this myself when the demo downloads. You keep saying the city people sound rude. I hadn't noticed; to me they just sound like home :D
Thou hast intrigued me; I shall subscribe to thy channel with great haste, for I have beheld wonders untold and knowledge unknown.
ayee, new IP here, letsgo
it's gonna be peaaaaaaaaaaaaak
The animations are terrific.
yessirrrrrrr
i'd say it's Grius' fault for letting him ease drop 1:46:40
COUNT LOUIE
that’s it I’m calling him count Louie on my second playthru
The graphic options are just obtuse and bad. I didn't even know the base render was 1440p, and people are trying to play 200% quality at 1080p
They are bad but apparently you CAN get native 4K if you switch from borderless to full screen. And at that point that would mean 200% scaling would be 8K which is honestly weird af.
Starts with a king being killed mice
This game is amazing mate
grius sounds like beast from divinity original sin 2
Will you do a 100 percent run once you learn the game. Your persona 5 guide was great
That will be the goal but of course I can't promise anything cause I don't know if I'd be able to do it. I won't make a promise I don't know I can keep. This was added in an update post release I turn it off when it's available
Oh....ohhhhh its caelus voice actor from honkai star rail lol i can not unhear it.
To many good games. Can't play them all which is why I am watching you brother lol

Granblue Fantasy: Relink v Visions of Mana v Metaphor: Refantazio
2:20 "Them dead..." is such an awkward way to start a sentence lol

The MC looks like Makoto from P3 but I don't see any others looking like anyone else ??? Who else you talking about? Gallica and Pixie?

I would've thought the protagonist would be Digital, if you're Analog.
The game's called METAPHOR and the enemies are called "humans"? Huh....
No SMT5 levels of hair physics. What a horrible, horrible downgrade in quality
To each their own.
in hindsight, should have added /s
