Friend of mine racing a cb750 texas world speedway circa 1983 said after his race he went to the infield to watch the 3 new stock RZ350 's in a production race to see how they do. At the start that is about a 1/4 mile away and shielded out of sight . He heard a Snarling pack of RD's but coming into view were the 3 Rz's with a low purr and already leading by 1/8 of a mile. So I bought one.
Hell yeah, think of it isn't a "RD" 350, rather a TZ 350 or a bike tuned to a TZ... revving over 12K rpm till 13 or maybe 15K rpm well, yes that's what we call a real competition motorcycle for racing circumstances And yes, it is sadly enough, we will never get to ride on the road because it will be illegal in most countries of the world to do so... but maybe... if you're out of the U.S., maybe you are able to ride a monster such as "she" the TZ is.. bc. the US is wayyyy more understanding in such things as in europe (where it is illegal to ride a bike which has that much power but exactly that less weight... like wtf.. in the US, they don't even bother.. okay your exhaust sound is too big... no big deal, and in central Europe, it's: "okay thats about 1000s of Euros (€) and your license, is disabled for couple months or even you bike is confiscated and torn apart ..and yes you are gonna pay for that and... you may not get your bike back in some cases... so I really envy you guys, especially in the US, to be as free as we all wanna be, as car guys, as bikers etc. You guys have a freedom we in central Europe sadly never have... "I tip my hat to you" (that what's Google has for a translation for this kinda sentence)😅 PS (idk if non european or non german/bavarian people would understand) Ride safe and not THAT much above the speed limit, (We all do, but be awared) some guys as friends and family love you 😉🏍
I really love this video, you seem to be a very good rider, better than most of the other drivers, the majority of them sadly had more powerful bikes; But the question is: the video is titled as "RD" 350, isn't that a TZ 350? The racing 350cc Yamaha? I mean way over 10'000 rpm, I guess 12-15'000 rpm, and only a rpm gauge but no speedometerm, seems to me kinda TZ or a similar racing motorcycle I may not heard of? ;) Still awesome vid and good skills; give me chills this sound of a harcore twostroke driven at highest rpm sounds absoletely sexy :P (Kommst du zufällig aus Deutschland? Weil dann hätt ich das darauf verfassen können, aber war mir nicht sicher... falls nicht, dann bitte nicht verwirrt sein, falls dieser Kommentar komisch übersetzt wird ) :/
I had a 75 Rd 350 that I had Don Vesco do some porting and head shaving work . Along with different reed valves and 36mm Mikuni carbs and TZ 250 expansion chambers, that engine made around 55 HP, and with the tz 250 crankshaft, it made power to 12,500 RPM. Not much below 6,000, but then hold on! It had a tz 250 dual disc complete front end and the braking power was impressive. Many 76/77/78 era super bikes were embarrassed in the Southern California canyons. I had more fun on that bike than any of the more powerful, 84 Ninja 900 etc, bikes I owned over the years.
Good ride. Easy to comment when you watching, still, good braking late into the corners, conering was good, but a bit slow coming out of the corners. Of course a bit down on power but hey, that's something else. Enjoyed it though. Thanks.

Excellent ride. I paused the video to put on my “good headphones” so I could really enjoy it. You OWNED the corners. Nice riding!
Excellent riding. Had me tilting left and right in my chair fighting along with you. Well done
i love how the tach needle goes past 9000 and then you don't see it again for.......well, quite a while.

Great stuff, those riders were tops. That crossover move at 14:00 had me rise up out of my chair1
Bravo , i primi giri ....hai fatto pena....( gomme fredde ? ) , pero' poi hai recuperato ! Bravo pilota. Grazie.
What a race. Back markers stopped you from winning. FANTASTIC !
That was exhilarating!
this is what I needed to motivate me to get my 72 R5 back out on the tarmac. Great ride!
Looks pretty mental.Good idea making a track out of so little space.

Achei da hora!! 350 sao brabas shou
Nice riding. Looks like you're a little down on power. Were the other bikes rz350s or tz250s?
Suzuki T500 with Rider Alf Busk and TZ350 with Rider Bruno Kneubühler
You were the better rider but the bike just didn't have the power to compete with all the bikes on the straightaways.
