I remember saying "I could watch a feature length film of stuff like in Smash Bros Emissary..." and this is a taste of that. Nintendo's characters translate really well into animation. I hope we see more like this for Pikmin and their other franchises.

I feel like Miyamoto must have a big soft spot for Pikmin, and this just goes to show it. Most of his other franchises like Mario and Zelda have exploded in popularity far beyond his control, and must have have gone on for too long for him to be very emotional invested in them. But Pikmin is distinctly his; it's his baby, and I can't say I blame him, because the games are fantastic, and the characters are too cute as well.

Ironic on how this video has more views than the Splatoon 3 announcement but has almost zero comments.
Just finished watching this. It was hilarious, cute and quirky. It's worth the $5! I hope they make more short films because this was amazing. I actually plan on purchasing the 3D version as well because I really want to support what Shigeru Miyamoto is doing.

Having bought the package, I can easily say it is worth 5 bucks. 20 good minutes of some of the best silent cartoons I've seen in years, plus bonus content including the theater promos that were played in Japanese cinemas for the past 2 years. Definitely pick it up, but I recommend the WiiU version since the amazing quality really does a lot for the cartoon visuals.
Do yourself a favor and download these everyone! They are all crazy entertaining and soooo well directed / animated. I want moooore! A whole Nintendo variety show would be... oh my God.. BLISSFUL! :O But yeah these are well worth the $5 especially in HD on your TV!
How long is each short?

There's already an anime for Fire Emblem and I believe it had an English dub too. Good luck finding the dvd though cuz I think it was released in the 90's so interestingly it made it to the states before the games and melee did.

How is a discount for Pikmin 3 owners being cheap? I don't mind the pricing, but I find it greedy for Nintendo to require people to buy it twice, just to see it in 3d and hd...
SpongicX It's not that they're making you buy it twice, it's for those who only have one system. It's not right for Wii U owners to get a discounted price, and 3DS owners getting full, especially since a lot of people might have gotten Pikmin 3 for free. The only other way they could do it, is if they bundled the codes, but then the people with only one system could give the other code away (or sell it) to someone who has the other system. In reality, Nintendo isn't being greedy. The other options would have Nintendo losing money. Is that fair to them? And it is a rather low price to begin with. Is a discount off of five dollars really necessary?

For 20 minutes, $5 is a bit pricey. I can watch a movie in theaters for $8. It's cool that they made these shorts, but it would have been nice to reward the people who supported the game to get some kind of reward for the shorts.

Dynamo I know. I played it. But they also just made Super Mario 3D World last year, and there will be a lot more Mario games to come. There's only 3 Pikmin games, it's one of my favorite franchises. Even though Pikmin 3 took many years to develop, it was really short... and I don't mean they make Pikmin 4 RIGHT NOW I mean in the future, maybe when they make a new handheld (not new 3DS)

Dynamo Isn't the bundle 3 episodes that total out to 20mins? So each episode would be about 6mins long.

Nintendo, make a full series of cartoons like these based around Captain Toad, and then air it on Disney Channel, Cartoon Network and Nicelodeon. Just imagine what they could do with the cartoony world of Captain Toad in a cartoon. They could really play with the personality of Captain Toad and Toadette, and the Toad Brigade could get more attention as well. Wingo could get a personality too. It would be just like a classic Looney Toons or Disney cartoon, just with Toad-carachters! Plus, it would be a great way to give this game more attention in general. I don't know, now I'm just playing with the idea of a Captain Toad cartoon...
They should Air it on Cartoon Network. Captain toad and he pikmin would really fit in with the other shows on there.
That'd actually be pretty cool. Especially considering how bad Nickelodeon and Disney are nowadays.
Here's how each channel would do the show:
Nick - Put in bland and fart jokes with stereotypes being the main characters
Disney - Have the show just be about singing and something that will appeal to teen girls
Cartoon Network - Show will be good for the first 2 or 3 seasons, then the creator will leave and/or the show will become formulaic
JRPGPirate I'm saying NINTENDO should produce these cartoons, and then air them on these channels. I didn't say the channels should be making the show. It isn't Cartoon Network who are making the Sonic Boom show just because it's that channel that's airing the series. Those reasons you just listed are the reasons why I want Nintendo to air these cartoons on those channels; those channels need some quality. Nintendo knows how to use their properties, they wouldn't let that stuff happen.
If they do air it, they need to make sure Nick/CN/Disney doesn't butcher it.

Oh my god, I just watched these and they're so cute it hurts! Definitely worth seeing if you've got the time.
I'd also say that the HD version is better if you have to choose between the two, because these animations really deserve to be watched in all their 1080p 60fps glory. The 3D effect doesn't really add to the experience either, so yeah, get it on Wii U. There's something about watching it on a TV that also really adds to the experience. So much more comfortable than being huddle around a 3ds.

I love all the references on Olimar's wall. There's a picture taken from the box art of Pikmin 1, there's a picture with him, his wife, his son, and his baby from Pikmin 2, and there's a picture of him with the Hocotate Ship from Pikmin 2. =D

Absolutely. I think the only was it would be viable is if they were to release a feature film with a production studio, and even then it would still be very unfeasible.
