I have this system. It's hard to use you need a lot of strength in your arms as you have to press hard with it. Once filled it's heavy, and not that easy to apply as you have to press hard to get the paint to get through. My system is the blue original. But it's in a box in the shed.. I prefer a normal roller. Plus. Cleaning it out afterwards. Takes way longer 🇬🇧

applying the wrong amount of pressure can cause paint to push out around the edge of the roller, creating a streak. Also, it looks like they saturated the roller will all that water dripping down the walls.

This works amazing if you DONT use the measuring jug with the water line. You need to mix the paint separately in a bucket with much less water than advertised...the consistency is the key...different brands dilute differently.

This works fine for me. You should not add to much pressure and let the roller do the work. As what makes the paint pour is to much water has been added. You should mix the paint correctly. Not working properly is that you have made some mistakes. Correct it and use it properly it surely works well. I am a first time user not a professional at all but it did work well.

They didn't use it properly. I've used these as 'disposables' to paint ceilings and internal walls and external walls. It's quick and if done right doesn't drip. Uses far less paint too. The quality of the tool itself is crap so after a few big jobs .the roller material can start to split a bit, but given the coverage, lack of mess and time savings it's worth it and economical. Just treat it as an item to be disposed of after a few jobs and you'll be fine.

    • @blackdragonstory1122

I dont get why they dont just make the thing from better materials.
The old rollers would instantly go extinct.
I bought one of these and it broke on the first use.
How would anyone know you are not supposed to press and how would you even be able to do that considering the thing holding the roller is bending and even the poles are also bending.
I managed to do 1 coat of paint and and then it started leaking from the side cuz the fabric came out of the plastic part.
But before that like after celling and a wall, the pole broke where it was connected to the roller and since the size is not like any other similar tool I couldnt even replace it.
In essence just better materials, being able to dissassemble the thing to clean it faster and maybe a longer handle even if its 3 pieces like now would be great.
The angle one didnt survive 1 fall lel.
Idk why the handle of it came out of it but the result was broken plastic.

This is a joke of a review. I used this on several paint jobs I had and it works every time. I don't normal pour paint straight out of a can. You'll need to dilute the paint before applying it to the wall or it'll get streaks like that. It's the same thing with paint sprayers. The quality of the paint is also an issue sometimes.

Those marks on the wall from the roller is down the the way the guy applied pressure on the roller. This will happen with even the most expensive professional rollers if too much pressure is applied to one side and not evenly throughout the roller. This comes from a professional decorator. Definitely cant blame to roller for those running streaks. Doesnt matter which tool you use if the paint isn't applied evenly and correctly it will look shit regardless.

Chris Johnson I was going to say the same thing about the smaller roller breaking. The product is made out of plastic and he’s applying his entire body weight onto it when he’s on the ground. Also nobody paints like him pushing the roller at that angle down like crazy until it breaks. People stand at a distance and then let the roller go up and down he is like fully force idiot pressing his body on it until it breaks.

For my profession I am in contact with various paint manufacturers, where I sell raw materials that are used in paints, inks, lacquers, etc.
Every brand and every type of paint that is brought on the market has been specifically formulated ready for use. Only in very hot conditions it could be that some water is added, which is often only done by professionals.
All paints are already perfect in balance with the right amount of resin, water, pigments and additives such as anti-foaming, leveling agents (to give a better flow when the paint is wet), and very important for wall paints are the thickeners; or to be more precise 'rheology modifiers'.
If you add water to the paint under normal conditions, you will bring the entire system out of balance. This results in dripping, lower color strength (you are diluting your paint so very likely that you have to apply more than 1 layer) and even secondary issues such as sagging (pigments and fillers sag out over time when the paint is still wet and creates an irregular film), and it also expires more quickly.
My advice for the DIY people: Buy quality paint and quality rollers, brushes and containers.
You will see that it will cover just as good, possibly even better than these heavily overpriced 'magic paint rollers'.

I would bet the non plastic part came off a bit and it leaked paint just like mine.
Later on I pulled it all out thinking maybe its supposed to come off for cleaning it easier but so far havent figured out how to do it lel.
This product is a good idea but poorly executed.
Cheapest materials you can find, bad balance between the roller and the thing that is holding it,even the plastic covers would have been much better if they were not portruding like they are but instead are a bit in the roller even if they had to make the whole roller a bit longer and thinner for it to work.

I worked in Injection Moulding in Plastics for over 30yrs and would be embarrassed if the product went into my work bin looking like that. Poor quality control methods with a 'That will do' attitude. To be fair there was a 30 day money back guarantee if not satisfied, but you paid return postage so it made it economically senseless to go to the bother of cleaning the product up,repacking it and then taking it to the post office. I suspect these all end up in the refuse bin after a few weeks. Be very surprised if this product is for sale in eighteen months time.

Going right into the paint works eventually, but it will be quite a bit of crappy, wasted, and different looking paint for a little while.
Guess what soaks into a dry roller very fast? Water.... gues what is in water based paint? Water... the dry roller quickly soaks up the water out of the paint into the center and now you are rolling concentrated solids for a little bit.
A prewet roller when properly just left damp does not do this.. there is only upside when done correctly. Leave too much of the water/mineral spirits and well yea duh it isnt good when you are literally painting out the paint's solvent. Just damp where the paint only comes out and it is nothing but good.
