Hi Bill, hope you're well. Awesome video as always! Any chance for a comprehensive video about sanding? I'm currently in the process of prepping an entire 3 bed house for painting. All of the wood elements are painted with oil based enamel and I want to convert to water based, but oh my god sanding all of the wooden elements is taking forever! Especially with the intricate trims that we have in our place. Many small groves that are hard to reach. If you have any tips that would be amazing! Maybe even tools cover/review that can help speed up the process? 😁😉 Thanks!
Thanks Bill, I asked for this video a few weeks ago and you’ve delivered! 👏🏼 I’ve done one small ceiling/room since (turned out ok) , but now your tips will make painting the rest of the house perfect. Because of your videos I’m pretty good at using a brush to “cut in” around walls. I painted the room a pale yellow, first I did undercoat then two coats of the yellow. With the brush I fanned out, but in certain lighting I can just see the difference between where I brushed and where I used the roller (used all good quality stuff). What am I doing wrong? Do I need to spend more time fanning out or am I using too much paint? Sometimes I wish subscribers could send in photos, I’d love to show you the work I’m doing because of all that I’ve learned from your channel. Because of you I’m very proud of my accomplishments. I’ve patched large holes in walls (due to an internal pipe leakage), ripped up carpet (the smart way), painting doors, replacing fly screens, fixed door locks and now I’m on my journey of painting the whole house. Thank you so much, you’re the best! ❤👍🏽Željka
Insightful videos mate, its handy that the places you paint are always empty, i gotta cover everything before i do my ceilings 😞 ( which the wife wants done this week )
I wish they were always empty, so much easier especially when the flooring is being replaced. Try moving most the furniture to the center of the room and cover everything . Have fun👍👍👍
@@stevenellul3443actual pro tip wrap the roller in painters tape then remove tape, will remove any loose fibres that may have fallen off while painting

Cheap paint, what's that Bill? I get 2 litres of the wrong colour paint so I could fix the scratches on the skirting board and 2 miserable litres from Paintspot cost me $63! 😲 Now I have to go back and see if they can actually match the colour better than their first attempt and spend another $63. Wish I had gotten a 4 litre tin and maybe I could have repainted all the skirting board but then the doors and window frames would have have matched.🤦♂
Cheap paint is usually watered down paint that dosnt have any of the good properties to get a nice finish eg; poor coverage, hiding power, viscosity ect… Regarding your trim $63 is a lot for two liters of paint. If the current paint is oil based it will be near impossible to touch up even if it’s from the same original tin as it goes yellow over time. It will most likely have to be completely painted starting and ending at inconspicuous areas. Hope this helps👍
That roller is WAY too big, good way to make hard work for yourself with that non flexible roller frame. You need a thicker 15-18mm sleve on a 270mm roller frame like in the wall videos. Short poles are too small you cant stretch it out enough your walking it around too much, a low ceiling & a tall guy it might be ok but you really need a longer pole.
I use the large roller for ceilings and when the house has large open walls. It is a bit heavier but at least twice as quick with less lap lines to worry about. Some love it and some hate it. I love it especially on ceilings 👍

Well done, Bill. You are a legend mate. Keep it up. You make painting so easy.
👍👍👍
Bill you make everything look so easy mate!

Turfing one min, painting the next! Jack of all trades... master of all 👍
Everyday is an adventure 👍👍👍
Legend Bill, and love that huge roller. Cheers
It makes painting ceilings almost enjoyable 👍
Modern day renaissance/renovation man!
Cheers for your work mate
Good work Bill..👍… Thanks ! The bigger roller sounds the go, to cut down the work load…I hate painting ceilings ! 😅
Lol there are very few people who enjoy painting ceilings, I’m not one of them👍

Hi bill, big fan of your channel , wonder if you can make a video how to install “Roof Manhole Ceiling Lock”. Much appreciated
On my to do list👍
Insightful video
👍
Thanks Bill 😀
Great video, very helpful. Thanks
Hi Bill on a good roller when opening it new do we wash it first, any suggestions please. Thanks
No washing no removing lint/fluff, simply take it out and use it 👍👍👍
@@billshowto Thanks mate appreciate it.

Hi Bill, what is the best season to paint?... Thanks
Any time is fine however warmer months allow for paint to dry quicker👍👍
@@billshowto Thank you Bill for your immediate reply ♥️
Thanks Bill, great stuff. Does the roller bucket you have linked in your description fit the 460mm roller? Seems to be only 270mm. Thanks.
The one I’m in the description is a 270. 460 also available in the same brand but may need to be sourced from another place👍
nice one,
which is better for ceiling or wall painting, spray gun or roller?
Depends on the job, I usually prefer a roller👍
Awesome video mate, what is your views on rolling with the light from the sun???
If you use the right roller and paint you won’t need to worry about that as your finish will be perfect.
@@billshowto Thanks mate,I truly enjoy your contents on your channel.
My house has a very old YELLOW (80s color) how to color it with white, any idea. I tried 3 quotes but still yellow shed is still there.
Prime the walls first
14 inch roller is best way to go n you can roll right up to corner 🇺🇸👍
Nice
👍

You still use your sprayer
All depends on the job. If there is a lot of detail in the ceiling or cornice I will spray it👍👍👍

@tinytedy the roller maybe to big for you, I’m not a tradesman decorator but love using the bigger roller.
@@christownsend2399 Bigger isnt allways better, ive explained why. I paint it for a living.
@@billshowto You get laplines, or train lines if your sleve is too thin.
