Did you know that you are the only TH-cam taste tester than uses the word "scrumptious?" I really enjoy it when you use this word to describe how wonderful something tastes.
To be fair, the only Welsh things you've eaten there are the mass manufactured Welsh cakes. They taste so much better fresh and warm off the griddle covered in sugar!!
Emmy, your memory is nothing short of AH-MAZING! Remembering all those snacks by name that you have had before and which video/country they came from just amazes me!!!
You're so adorable! I really enjoy your tasting videos, especially the UK ones because you're one of the very few people that doesn't slag off the UK, you just try the food!
''There's a bit of friction between the Welsh & English''. Basically: us Welsh don't trust the English, and they can't understand us. They don't like it when we thrash them at rugby either (Plus we have the best prop in the world)
She sounds American or Canadian or something, why should she know about us? Do you know every state in USA or Canada? Well done if you do but your there's no expectation to know.
If our gonna eat Welsh Food then it needs to be food from Wales only not England! but good video. Maybe she could have sent a little Welsh language book. Ond Diolch yn Fawr ar gyfer fideo ;)
With the Welsh Cakes you should microwave them and place a little knob of butter on top so that it melts into the cake.. that's my favourite way to eat them! With the Odities I believe the mystery shape is a tennis racket! x
Great Britain = England, Scotland, Wales. United Kingdom = England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland. British Isles = England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Eire (Republic of Ireland) and the 5000 or so Islands around our shores. The Channel Islands and Isle of Man are not part of the UK, but are Crown Dependencies. Remember this only refers to geography, not nationality, and while the Republic of Ireland is part of the British Isles, its people are not British - a very important distinction. British Commonwealth is an organisation of 53 member states that were mostly territories of the former British Empire.
Zeus Aviary if you live there you don't call yourself british you call yourself welsh. i know not a lot of people knew that Wales existed! But us Wales are just too fabulous to you know about! #littlecountry have you ever been to the welsh festival ? it's called the 'eisteddfod'!! where they do traditional dancing and singing competitions!!
Welsh cakes are sooo much better when heated in the toaster or oven and covered in welsh butter. That's the way my family eats them every Sunday😊 great video btw, it's so interesting seeing someone eating things for the first time that we take for granted every day!😊x
It really isn't. Wales its own country with thousands of years of its own rich history and culture. It also has its own language, flag, patron saint, national flower etc.
With penguins you have to bite one top corner and the bottom opposite corner, dip in a hot beverage and suck on one side. When you can drink through one side quickly tilt your head back and eat it :)
Nothing beats a freshly made welsh cake, the outside is crispy and the inside is soft and fluffy, you could also try warming your welsh cakes up in the microwave for a few seconds and spread some butter over it :) it is a shame you can't taste a lot of Welsh foods including lava bread, cawl and bara bryth!
well at least they are Tesco Finest! They look good and Emmy rated the taste as 'gorgeous and scrumptious.' People have their own budgets and it can be expensive to send a package like this so plse think before commenting.
Waitrose is all well and good for England, but there's literally only one in Wales- and that's in a service station on the M4 just before the Severn bridge!
EMMY HOW THE HELL CAN YOU KEEP EATING AND EATING, AND STILL SO THIN !! you also hav a baby,, if thats me, I Do 1 video and my body be like a whole potato covered with bacon... gosh your vid make me hungry... I love your video emmy.
You're so lucky to have snow! Here in London we've not had ANY since last February! A lot of the UK is flooded at the moment, actually, since we've had so much rain!
I don't think their is friction between Wales and the rest of Britain. I Think Whales is the guy always left out of the conversation. The guy who we quite often forget is even their.
***** I am Welsh, so let me clarify. The Scottish and the Irish got their independence but lost their language and we lost our independence but kept our language and as such a vast amount of our culture was preserved through word of mouth and still exists in Welsh today. We do have independency to a certain degree by the fact that we have the Welsh assembly government but not to the same degree as Scotland or Ireland. It is true that there is some animosity between the Welsh and the English (especially during the six nations) but that animosity is mostly taken in good humour. It also allows me to bond with Scottish and Irish people over a mutual dislike of the English. lol
camdrury677 I'd argue the animosity comes from the fact the English crown annexed Wales into England, whereas the other nations joined as a 'union': hence United Kingdom. Wales never got that right, but like you said, the Welsh assembly is a VERY promising step forward to Wales' identity as a governmental 'nation' within the union.
Bloody useless That didn't really happen. Wales has been aligned to what is now England for over a thousand years. Whilst we have our own language and culture that we're proud of, we are very much integrated with England and the VAST majority are quite happy with that. The most recent poll put support for independence in Wales at 3%. We have a lot of banter with the English, particularly around sporting events, but people who genuinely dislike English people are generally just weirdos who have never left their home town and have a very narrow world view.
Raydar I never mentioned Welsh independence? I mentioned Welsh government: which is a completely different topic. The majority of the Welsh are in favour of more devolved powers to the Welsh government rather than Westminster (the only county that voted against it recently was Monmouthshire). We want the same powers as Northern Ireland and Scotland, which currently, we do not have. I never said Wales should leave the Union, just that Wales was never formally asked to become part of the Union (as it was already part of England). ;) Also, unless the year is 2228, you're quite mistaken about Welsh history. The Principality of Wales was 'acquired' (so to speak) by the English crown in 1228, before that the many Welsh kingdoms or princedoms (Wales was never a true unity after all) were independent of England. Then, around 1535, Wales was incorporated legally into the Kingdom of England (via annexation). Don't get me wrong, I identify as Welsh and British, and there are many parts of England I love to visit. I just want to see Wales represented in the union more fairly, don't you?
Raydar Be nice to see more Welsh speaking Welsh . . I had 2 welsh aunts one from north one from south and only one from south could speak welsh. I have loads of many happy holidays on black mountain (breacon beacons) nearest neighbor was a mile away by road water came from small stream that ran down mountain with all sheep on. . One thing i haven't had for ages while in Wales is Hedgehog flavoured crisps do you know if they can be bought ?
Oh god yes! Strawberry is the best. The dairy is really near to where I live. 🙂 But it probably wouldn't travel, same as with cawl or laverbread. But maybe could work out how to send mead?
yay i live in wales, wagon wheels are made just down the road from me, welsh cakes are better when freshly made and still warm from the pan, i'm glad you enjoyed them
That was just a selection of Tesco's ! haha and did you get to the centre of the waggon wheel to find out if it was jammy or not ? It looked like a jammy one to me x
There are some fantastic Welsh cakes out there, Teisen lap ( sorry not sure of the spelling) and a really heavy fruit cake called bara brith, you spread butter on it. mmmmm yum! We have some lovely savouries too, Cawl is a welsh soup, and its really heart warming. Hope the recopies for those are in the book she sent you. Great video. xx Diolch!
British and Welsh are the same thing cuz the UK is also called Britain trust me i would know as i am Welsh i really do hate it when people think England is SO more important than Wales and Scotland.

Nice video, but none of these snacks are exclusive to Wales, You can buy those foods anywhere in Britain. I think you should rely more on the Welsh cookbook.... or just go to Wales one day, It's beautiful with mind blowing views.
Oh god, I want to go back to the UK so bad! I was in Cardiff for like three days two summers back, but I can't remember much about it, because we were so tired from travelling there all the way from Edinburgh :D I have to go back to Wales someday!
Emmy I am just so proud of you. I can't believe you have made it this far. Almost 200 000 subs! I remember watching your videos with only less than 50k subs. Now your almost 200k subs! I am just so happy for you. And for your baby too!
This video is awesome, I went to Wales once. I was attacked by an old lady but she apologized. I want to be super happy. I like bathtubs aswell :) Evan Burdman
Prynhawn da! (means Good Afternoon in Welsh). My favourite welsh treat is 'Welsh Cakes'. I recommend you try and make them yourself (not much different from trying to make scones), they are so much nicer when home made and hot off the bake stone. :D
Good luck :D If you can't find one just let me know and I'll give you the one me and my mam have been using since I was a kid. You don't need to use raisins or currants with them either, you can use anything. Such as chocolate chips, coconut, cherries or simply just plain. Have fun making them :)
Oh, no! I missed the joke on the Penguin wrapper -- shucks! I didn't know. Ah, well, next time. :)
Ahhh, those crisps looks soooo delicious :))

***** I'm in north Wales and everyone here takes Welsh food + culture VERY seriously, it's intense..
North Wales is real Wales! We may not have an English Premier League side, but North Wales dominates the Welsh Premier League ;)
Na, it's because the south abandoned Wales and are just English-Wannabies
I'm from South Wales and no we havn't abandoned wales
I'm so happy a youtuber has included Wales in their good tasting luv u lots Emmy!!
Welsh cakes are the best thing ever.
Ned Kelsey yes
With the Welsh Cakes you should microwave them and place a little knob of butter on top so that it melts into the cake.. that's my favourite way to eat them!

Wales is 'British'..
Great Britain = England, Scotland, Wales.
United Kingdom = England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland.

Welsh cakes are sooo much better when heated in the toaster or oven and covered in welsh butter. That's the way my family eats them every Sunday😊 great video btw, it's so interesting seeing someone eating things for the first time that we take for granted every day!😊x
Very true
Ohh I need to try them warmed up. They really nice like that? :)
Welsh cakes are surprisingly easy to make. Don't buy the store-made ones, just make your own. All you need is a frying pan - screw the griddle.
Welsh and british? Thats like saying Texas and America
It really isn't. Wales its own country with thousands of years of its own rich history and culture. It also has its own language, flag, patron saint, national flower etc.
The gold bar is caramel flavor white chocolate .and in the uk we call caramel ,toffie because caramel is a different food to us
Just a little side note: 'Cornish' refers to 'Cornwall', which is located outside of Wales.
and just to make Americans that bit more confused, Cornish Pasty's are sold EVERYWHERE in England and Wales
In Australia also. Cornish Pasties are amazing!
With penguins you have to bite one top corner and the bottom opposite corner, dip in a hot beverage and suck on one side. When you can drink through one side quickly tilt your head back and eat it :)

You would expect everything is gold plated
Waitrose is all well and good for England, but there's literally only one in Wales- and that's in a service station on the M4 just before the Severn bridge!

frostyAsh Yes, indeed. :) Sharing is caring.
Completely random question: Do you eat EVERYTHING? throw it after a nibble or share with your family after filming? :)

Shame Heather couldn't have sent you Bara Brith, it's a lovely thing to eat with butter spread on top while drinking tea.
That was 99.9% English. The Welsh cakes were the only Welsh component. Just FYI

I came here looking for 'whale' jokes. This is a sad day.

I love those Gold bars prefer them to penguins or kit kats. If I had to eat myself to death I think I would chose death by Gold Bars.
when people say " a little bit too sweet for me" i usually think to myself " then its probably MY kind of candy/cookie!" the sweeter the better haha
I read 'Emmy Eats Whales' :D
That was just a selection of Tesco's ! haha and did you get to the centre of the waggon wheel to find out if it was jammy or not ? It looked like a jammy one to me x

British and Welsh are the same thing cuz the UK is also called Britain
trust me i would know as i am Welsh i really do hate it when people think
England is SO more important than Wales and Scotland.
The UK is not the same as Britain 😂😂 Britain is the bigger island that contains Wales, England and Scotland, whereas the UK contains Northern Ireland too...
Will Davies sameeee
Will Davies well Englang is in fact more important, because the UK is governed from there and of course the "royal" family is there.
No country is more important, that's why it is the UNITED KINGDOM. Not very united if you see one country as more important.
Some of these things aren't even welsh, you can buy wagon wheels all over the uk, Cornish fudge is from Cornwall England :/ oddities are also available across the uk :/
She said half of the things were from the UK. Watch the video.
tennis racket!! :P
\(^_^)/ to gold bars!
Does Emmy just throw out the food that she tastes but doesn't finish, like the Wagon Wheel here?
I was thinking the same thing xD.
EMMY! You are supposed to put butter on the welsh cakes! :(
Gold bars are yummy :) You should try a caramac bar. Or a rocky bar
the oddities are a bit weird but the one that you did not know is a tennis racket
I thought Japanese stopped eating whales...
Kappa

Nice video, but none of these snacks are exclusive to Wales, You can buy those foods anywhere in Britain. I think you should rely more on the Welsh cookbook.... or just go to Wales one day, It's beautiful with mind blowing views.
Oh god, I want to go back to the UK so bad! I was in Cardiff for like three days two summers back, but I can't remember much about it, because we were so tired from travelling there all the way from Edinburgh :D I have to go back to Wales someday!
Ahhhh yes Wales :-) Where men are men and the sheep are worried.
Emmy I am just so proud of you. I can't believe you have made it this far. Almost 200 000 subs! I remember watching your videos with only less than 50k subs. Now your almost 200k subs! I am just so happy for you. And for your baby too!
The Cornish fudge isn't Welsh. It's from Cornwall which is in England.. Just don't confuse that Emmy :)
Hi Emmy

Hi again , I think I wanna send You Sweets from Swden , So I wonder Where I should send it ?? PS: I love You´re channel
Prynhawn da! (means Good Afternoon in Welsh). My favourite welsh treat is 'Welsh Cakes'. I recommend you try and make them yourself (not much different from trying to make scones), they are so much nicer when home made and hot off the bake stone. :D
Ooo, I'll have to see if there's a recipe in the cookbook Heather sent me. :)
Good luck :D If you can't find one just let me know and I'll give you the one me and my mam have been using since I was a kid. You don't need to use raisins or currants with them either, you can use anything. Such as chocolate chips, coconut, cherries or simply just plain. Have fun making them :)
Emmy? Could you please trying making a canadian recipe called Poutine? It's AMAZING, you'll love it! :)
People have go to stop saying that welsh people are chavy not everyone in wales is it's just welsh accent get used to it
The welsh accent isn't chavy at all. The problem is people undermining the accent and not learning how to speak the Welsh language.
