The music sounded great!!! It is really interesting to see how you put all this together ! Looks pretty complicated to me, but I know you are the expert! Really cool!
Great work man! Love the set up. Been wanting to add a 2nd big 6 to my setup at home. Any plans to add separate converters? That's my end goal. Nicer converters and the added convenience of being able to do inserts on all the stereo channels as well
I am unable to comment on the Facebook post. This is all fascinating stuff, I’m sure, but people can do a music on their phones nowadays. The modern world is all about style over substance abuse. Can you do a video showing how you get your front hair so smooth and shiny, whilst maintaining a big fluffsome keratinous globe at the back hair? Is it anything to do with rimclick?
must admit you lost me at "HELLO"...and to think this or being a roady was what i wanted to do in my youth as watched as many live bands as possible in my home town....all very fascinating stuff and a great insight to how its done to achieve the desired result....you must have very understanding neighbours to be doing this at 02:58 am.
People assume it's loud in here but I mix very quiet, the microphone at the back of the desk picks up my speech with hardly any music in the background. Obviously I mix the music in at an appropriate level when I edit the video but in here it's not loud at all. I like to mix quiet to save my ears and hear detail, and the trick is to make it sound loud even at a quiet volume which by the sounds of it I have achieved!
@@domminney glad you are saving your ears, sadly my hearing is on the decline due to 'head in speaker syndrome' and high volume with cans on...but you still sound pretty decent to me when i watch TAPF play.
@@domminney I did mean link, sorry. I didn't know you could do that but that is really cool. So technically you could link as many as you want together?
How are you actually connecting the two consoles? Do they sum into a couple of channels in the DAW or is there some kinda interconnect that allows a number of those things to be hooked up together? 'Apologies if you explained that in the video.....I must have missed it if you did. Nice mix btw
@@domminney Well, 3 of the 6's would certainly be cool....helluva lot more budget friendly than an Origin. Didn't realize the price of those things was so much. Thanks for all of the info!
@@ReneyKaramoy I am using them in aggregate and I’ve had no clocking problems working as I do. There is however a consistent difference on input between the two desks so hypothetically if I record using the two desks I’ll have to shift one desk back by a measurable number of samples. Consistency it’s fine, I’ve done noise and test tones running for an hour and there’s no issues with sync on output. The reason I have my right hand desk as desk 1 is so it’s the dominant desk. I want to line up the left desk to the right should the need arise. But I’m making it sound more of an issue than it is.
Thanks for answering! How many samples are talking with the other/slave desk? Did you do it at 24/48? Btw, i love how you treat the left desk as sort of the drum bus with some parallel stuff. Makes perfect sense!
@ I like the drums desk approach too. At the moment I’m holding off getting as third just for vocals because I am seriously considering the origin console

Great video!!! Very powerful sound!
Bad ass. ! Mix and song
Cheers, currently rendering my next video!
Best SSL Big Six Video on TH-cam. By far.
I’ll be doing more in my setup! Cheers mate
Genuinely fascinating!
Wow, very cool the way you're sharing your genius! Thanks.
So great to see the workflow. Will definitely have a go at mixing this!
Enjoy and let me hear the results!
Nice setup!!! Nice place!!
I can't even begin to understand how this all works. Very interesting 👍

Interesting use of the big 6 any chance you could do a follow up video of how you have routed everything 👍
@@rockchunk9417 I will do that!
If you enjoy this please leave me a comment and I'll do more!
Awesome video David!
Very useful!
Could you send me over the stems for mixing the practice?
Thanks!
I will! I may make them available for everyone to download.
@@domminney thank you mate!
This has given me some ideas for a couple of chains for recording :)
To make ITB mixing quicker!

I have 24 ins and outs via adat for hardware inserts. Eventually next year I’m getting an origin console 😉
Great video! What type of reverb do you use on drums?
@@mx_3110 yes I didn’t cover that, it’s a plate plugin that’s actually running on another computer. I can’t remember which one off hand but I’ll look
