Just noticed how big the difference was from Turn A -> Seed -> 00 in terms of animation
Turn A was the last Gundam animated in cell shade, then Seed transition into using digital animation, then 00 was the first to be animated in digital HD

@@ernestorio3550 more than that it seems that beginning with 00 there was a lot more emphasis on portraying the mobile suits on-model and on making their movements look more mechanical and stiff. Not to mention the really bright neon colors of early 2000s anime lol
@@bureidokaiza2829 yeah! the mechanical movement animation for 00 was pretty crisp from SEED's reliance on the stylistic poses which ain't really a bad thing. They might have realised they got very complacent and redundant towards the end of SEED Destiny tho

Gundam Wing's music sounds so nostalgic to me. It was probably the first anime shown in the west where they kept the original Japanese song.
Probably for U.S.A. Gundam Wing was what opened the floodgates for anime to the U.S.
Actually, anime was pretty big in Latin America. That's why you'll see many more Spanish dubs than English dubs, especially for older animer (think 70's through 90's).
I also get the same feels for GW's soundtrack. That was probably the first OST from anime that I actually downloaded and listened to by itself.
Mobile Suit Gundam as a franchise is famous in the west as the first franchise to be aired on TV in an identical manner to the Japanese airing, with directly translated scripts, the same soundtracks, uncut content in some airings and on home video, and the same theme songs. The franchise got popular because it was a true trailblazer at the time, especially Wing which aired first in 2000.
Forgot Gundam 00 had some good opening music, but wow the plot was such a bad twist on Gundam Wing.

IBO's first opening will forever be a bop in my book, I still listen to it even after finishing the anime

No joke, one of the reasons why I'll give IBO a try in the future is because of that first opening. In general, IBO had a pretty good track record in terms of OP themes. Not bad for the last main full-length show before the franchise went on hiatus and lead to the DREADFUL Witch from Mercury...

Nope, the worldbuilding is well established and the character development is decent, also there are many call-backs than 'just stamping a Char-clone, put a robot and call it a Gundam'. It is because because the story seems like a sugar-filled school drama?Well...that excuse got kicked to the shadow realm with the prologue,punched at the teeth at the middle of the first episode , received a gut-punch around the fifth episode and a constant hit to the nads at episode 10. Long story short: The Witch of Mercury doesn't suck.

The funny thing is Miki Matsubara (god rest her soul up in heaven) was actually bilingual, and fluently spoke English, and she recorded the English opening for Stardust Memory as well, Back to Paradise.
Same with Hitofumi Ushima (rest in peace)

Seed was crazy in terms of animation and storytelling, but 00 completely blows up the genre with Code Geass up to today
Seed's animation was just unexpected!!
Even today, 00 animation is still considered "modern" that people might think it came from early or mid 2010s era
@@maddaasyafaputra9117 It was also the first ever Gundam series to be done in HD, the mecha designs set the trend for the new generations of slender, more wiry-looking mobile suits, while also being the first to introduce a lead who's NOT Japanese, who also happens to have a very traumatic past directly related to war. 00 really was the trendsetter that dictated the direction of how the newer generation of non UC gundam shows would be made till this very day.

Slightly disappointed that it was only a compilation of clips of the all of the openings, not to mention that some that were missing such Unicorn RE: 0096, but it still was nice to see the progression through the years.

Kinda weird how 00's first two themes were bangers and then they kinda fell off.
Gundam X OP 2 is my best OP ever, sure its not as famous as Wing here in Philippines but I really like its OP and its protag Garrod. He's not a newtype, innovator, coordinator or any species with superpowers, just regular human trying to survive being a space scavenger.
Fell in love with Seed Destiny as it was released on my birthyear.
Age op 2 is underrated, definitely one of my faves.

Gundam Wing is what made Gundam series popular outside Japan and it's opening is historic. but Gundam Seed series also has the best openings and endings
Gundam Wing is also what killed Gundam in America afterwards. People had the wrong impressions of what Gundam actually was supposed to be since Gundam Wing has shit writing.
If they aired 08th MS Team or Gundam X first, Gundam wouldn't have dropped so hard in the 2000s.
Gundam 00, IBO, SEED, and Wing are the ones I'll always remember even just by the tune

8th MS team and Seed have some of my favourite openings but EVERY SINGLE opening in 00 is just a banger
Gundam X and 00 will always be on top of my list.
Seed and 00 still have the best openings ever, almost every single one is at least in my top 30 openings of all time
2nd op of SD Gundam Force was awesome reflecting the change in the pacing and plot.

there's a big shift in animation from Turn A to Gundam Seed which kind of understandable since Seed's use of CGI is noticable there compared to the previous gundam series

My favorites...Gundam Seed, Gundam Seed Destiny, and Gundam Double00. I have not seen Iron Blood Orphans but I heard that it was good also. Should I check it out?
Iron Blood used different concept that they used their spine to connect with the machine so they could control it by feeling, while the one like Seed use data input to their computer. Not really bad it just their fighting scale kinda feel small for gundam compared Seed
