    you can easily clean those erasers just pull knead the eraser under water until it starts to break apart then put it in a glass of water and swish it around then get a towel and strain the water through it then roll your finger on the dissolved eraser and it should become whole again then put it on a dry towel and squish it with the towel and it should become dry and clean

      I blame my teacher for making me use a rubber eraser instead of kneaded eraser.

  • @yarinice1
    @yarinice1 8 ปีที่แล้ว +55

    Odd. My kneaded eraser doesn't break that quickly. It just stretches for about 15 c"m before it breaks.

    • @DietkeFowler
      @DietkeFowler  8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Brands differ, I imagine. Also, the newer the eraser, the more stretchy. The more graphite or charcoal particles are already in the eraser, the easier it'll break. Does that help? Do you find the amount of stretch influences how you can use or not use the eraser?

    • @yarinice1

      Bibble Bob knead sind charcoal or graphite in. That will make it less malleable.

    can you use kneaded erasers for smudging?

    • @DietkeFowler
      @DietkeFowler  8 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Yes, you can. The trick is to get it less sticky first by kneading in a good amount of charcoal or graphite dust, or forming a blunt "tip" and rolling dirtying it up first. Does that make sense? Takes a few tries to get it right, but eventually it will have a similar texture and characteristic to smudging by hand.

      @DietkeFowler  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Abhishek Rawat if those are hard to get, choose a paper with texture and a hard surface. The less texture, the more difficult it is to work with and the more reflective the graphite will be. The more the pencil indents they paper, the harder it'll be to erase.
