I’m waiting for Dr. Bennard, Dr Mills or even Dr. Greger to be invited to debate with whatever foolish expert they can find who supports meat eating. If Joe Rogan truly believes that a vegan diet is inferior in terms of nutrients, he should have no problem inviting these plant based doctors to debate and watch them lose...right?

Nice idea, but Rogan has some other issues that make him addicted to animal products. It could be money also. James Wilkes was excellent on his show, and Joe seemed to have a lot of respect for James due to their common interest in MMA. Still, shortly after Rogan went on a carnivore diet.
So idk if/how anyone else can change Rogan’s mind.

Very ironic that while Rogan talks about freedom and transparency, he blatantly misleads his followers

@@davidhodgin8900 so it would be s waste of his time to convey his thoughts in an open space and then be challenged on them by someone with opposing views?
And what else is the basis of all rational discourse?
You say waste of time because you know his pathetic bullshit that he sells wouldnt hold up for a second under the scrutiny of someone with actual knowledge of the body. His version of physiology doesnt match with humanity sadly and his physical state speaks more than anything else. He looks close to death for a reason, yes the world will thrive if everyone looked like that feeble drip.
Health isnt some secret thing the body chooses not to project outwards, a feeble outside means almost certainly that inside is fucked as well. Grow up and admit your way of life leaves you feeling miserable and unable to stay healthy. Just doing more of it wont get a different result.

Nice interview. I watched “The Game Changers” on Dec 26, 2019 out of curiosity because my daughter’s boyfriend recently announced he went vegan. I have always known about veganism but dismissed it as a movement of animal rights zealots. But here was an entire movie about it. What the heck, I was bored anyway. Well, on the 27th, I was plant based and am only getter stronger in my resolve and commitment. I have been researching like crazy in the past 6 weeks and nothing I have found attempting to debunk plant-based has been remotely convincing. Just a bunch of opinions and anecdotes. So great job you guys. The movie is still enlightening people. I’m 59 btw, and hopeful about my future health.

But since you asked, seeing as though there isn't any data on how youthful different dietary groups look (probably because there is little to no point in that) we can't really make any claims for the majority or minority of vegan's visual appearances. Seems petty to be valuing skin and wrinkles and youthfulness as the standards for good looks.

How long have you been Vegan? Sure veganism feels great at the start because you're cutting out a lot of crap foods from your diet and adding Whole Foods abd vegetables. But just wait a year or two when the lack of heme iron, vitamin D3, K2, B12, Cholestorol, DHA, and EPA start effecting you're health. Humans are not designed to stop consuming meat for long periods of time, it will start effecting your health, there is a reason most vegans don't make it past 1-2 years, and those that do start getting serious health issues like Anemia, fatigue, digestive issues etc... just look at the countless stories of vegans talking about the serious health issues they encountered, and these were people that did it "properly."
Look at most of the long term vegan youtubers, they're skinny, frail, pale skin, early aging, a lot of them have reported problems with depression and fatigue. Also many other of the long term vegans have been caught sneaking in animal food.
Also vegans are obsessed with fake meats, processed food designed to replicate meat, foods designed to replicate dairy, foods high in fat like tahini and nut butter. It's becayse their bodies are begging for some real meat and animal fat. They stuff themselves with massive portions but are never satisfied because it's food lacking easentiap vitamins and minerals for health and brain function.

Thank you, Patrik for talking about how veganism works! This is such a kindness to do for vegans with your success. I've been vegetarian for more than two decades, and vegan at times. I've noticed my health over the years and that there is a wide range how well I'm doing eating plant based depending basically on how much whole versus processed food I'm getting, and people want to act like because sometimes I'm focussed on work or other projects in my life and enjoying more junk food when I don't need to be crystal clean with my diet, that I'm a case in point for the failings of snubbing meat. They can't hear that I have the answer for their causes because I'm not stronger than them, when I've always just most enjoyed being thin for myself. And I've gone hard in sports too. It's just that competition shit gets old. There's so much more to life. Like now, I want to be more vegan healthy again like you, bro.

A lot of ppl are afraid of change. So they get defensive. Instead of acknowledging their meat-eating compliance with environmental destruction and animal cruelty, which takes self-reflection, it’s easier to double down and go on the attack, plus meat fills you with acidity. It comes out as anger. Let’s keep educating young ppl about the joy of being vegan.

I'm vegan, but the forest plot insult in the debate was a red herring. It was effective in making Chris K look dumb, but his inability to read a forest plot isn't an indicator that he doesn't know what he's talking about. All it did is prove that Wilks is an effective debater. In research science, there are hundreds of plots, forest plots, volcano plots, funnel plots, galbraith plots, Q-Q plots, scatter plots, stem plots. Most scientists can't interpret most of them without becoming acquainted with them.
Also, there is science, and there is APPLIED science. Chris K would fall under the latter. Doctors, Nutritionists, Dieticians, could all be, with the right training, nutrition experts. None of them would be able to interpret a forest plot, and it would be irrelevant. Essentially, it was a stunt to win the debate, and not necessarily prove that Chris K was wrong.
I respect Wilks and his knowledge, but I also want to point veganism towards seeking truth rather than just "winning." Even if the truth shows us that some of our conclusions might be incorrect.

But later on the topic of dairy the pro vegan dude, made a crushing stupid statement that is worse than not knowing the name of a type of plot. The question at hand was: "Does dairy increase the risk of cancer?" Studys suggest 16% yes 13% no it decreases cancer, and 71% indecisive. So the answer to the question is 16% yes and 84% no. He couldnt wrap his head around that and tried to fabricate an argument 16% vs 13% which is not correct. That is denying logic and statistics on a ground level.
So in conclusion a cheap shot. Both guys had flaws in their Arguments.

  • @HerrFinsternis
    @HerrFinsternis 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Many inaccuracies, which I guess was to be expected.
All the people I've listened to who criticized the film and have a background in nutrition and/or medicine as well, started of by saying it's a shame the film made it it's goal to vilify meat as a healthy food source, instead of focusing on why a vegan diet can work for elite level athletes. I hope we can all agree this is what happened.
Secondly, whether we listen to nutritionists or doctors in medicine we align themselves with a carnivore diet, or with an omnivore diet, or a flexitarian diet or whatever wholefood diet basically, or experts on protein research, the gut biome etc. No matter which one you listen to who have spoken out against this film go into great detail pointing out where the film distorts the truth. None of what was said was completely true. Yes, blood veins contract after eating meat. And they will do so after any meal. Yes, if you eat fat there will be triglycerides in your blood (cloudy plasma) and if you eat that together with carbs they will linger in the blood longer. So comparing a high fat burrito with fatty beef, cheese and avocado wrapped in carbs, to a low fat burrito with beans and lettuce wrapped in more carbs, that will show you something... that has nothing to do with meat. The withholding of information is shocking.
For instance, in the film they mention research from the 90s where they put people on a vegetarian diet and heaven behold, they got healthier. What they didn't mention in the film is that those testsubjects also stopped smoking, started exercising, controlled their sleep and endured less stress..... but eh, of course the sole reason for improved health markers was the diet.
Which brings me to thirdly. A couple of researchers have allready come out and said their research and they themselves were misrepresented. During the joe rogan show with kresser and wilks, james mentions talking to a certain expert who afterwards said that conversation never took place.
So at best they were distorting the truth, at worst they were lying. Every minute of that film and James' arguments on the joe rogan show have been thoroughly debunked, by some vegan influencers even. This video here is so weird, defending a film that doesn't do plantbased eating any good.
And then there is Patrick. An ex-bodybuilder who grew obese and manboobs on his vegan diet, and now tries to press the argument weight is not an indicator of poor health.
    What a ridiculous interview.

Unfortunately the science provided in the Game Changers documentary is largely cherry-picked, and not representative of the overall data on nutrition. It acts is if diet choices are constrained to either vegan or a terrible carnivorous diet devoid of plants or various micronutrients. This simply isn't the case, you can eat meat AND plants and have a healthy diet, and live a long and healthy life. You should listen to people who actually study these topics as their careers (PhDs in the field of nutrition sciences), and not documentaries made by people who have monetary incentives to produce such a documentary.

    • @ThomasAT86
      @ThomasAT86 4 ปีที่แล้ว

I really thought this video would finally be about one of the vegan guys out there providing some actual facts, science etc, free of assumptions and n=1 examples, who don't fall for those really silly and cherry-picking authorities in the field. It baffles me how one can fall that easily for those. Followed Dr. Gregor for a while but jesus I couldn't bare the cherry-picking.
Still looking for more people talking about the actual pros and cons of a vegan diet, when to do it, when to not do it, who can try it, who should definitely not try it etc. But yet again I leave disappointed. I really want to add videos and alike to some of the papers I already have that provide a great view on veganism and really good tipps, so I'm able to be the best coach possible for clients who legit wanna try this path.

They both stated in more than 1 podcast that they think we all should eat more plant based. Where they disagree is that meat is bad for you. And also the environmental data that is still debateable at many points. Noone in their right mind says veganism is bad. One can have nutrient deficiencies and not be vegan as wellso that arguement falls short. Also this guy is not a renown powerlifter or strongman. But good for him he is healthy. His job is activism not athletics.

It's really disturbing to read through the comment section. Here are some gems, and I really hope some people aren't serious and close-minded about what they write, but I'm afraid they are.
      - The fact they say we need protein is a lie. I read lots of studies that we don't need it.
      - I've been protein free for 2 years now. I feel great!
      - To much protein back up the kidneys...
      - I wonder where meat eaters get their fiber
      - definitely go vegan for clean protein
      - As game changers shows, meat makes you soft, go vegan!😂 🌱
      - Nice idea, but Rogan has some other issues that make him addicted to animal products.
      - Carbs get stored as fat is hilarious. Learn about Adenosine triphosphate and youll see how foolish that statement is. This would also make you understand why keto works for fat loss, if you are interested. Animal protein and plant protein is the same. They all contain the same amino acids.
      - Plants are factually more nutritious per calorie other than maybe organ meats. Barely anybody eats organ meats. I look forward to a toxic and uniformed response.
      - There's nothing in meat that you can't get in a vegan diet.
