Jones and Van Exel if not for Harris could have been one of the best back courts ever. Can you imagine Guards Nick and Eddie, Sm Forward Kobe, PF Big shot Rob or Elden Campbell and at Center Shaq with Phil coaching? Oh my god that would have been crazy! Del Harris nice guy but really messed up the Lakers!
Basketball wasn't positionless in 1998. Kobe could have played SF but not full time. Them trading for Glenn Rice was the right move even if it wasn't beneficial long-term.
@@reedfantastik Eddie/Kobe would've been outsized at SF back then, and they wouldn't have shot enough 3's to offset that. Rice was much bigger and shot the 3 better. Besides, Eddie played worse under trade rumors
Glenn rice was a better player at the time and career wise .. Glenn tone it down only because that's what he was told to do. If you replace Kobe for rice the team wins too meaning rice and Jones with Shaq van and rob horry they run off the same three having Shaq as your center was the guaranteed win those years just bring I. Phill.
Eddie Jones was a great player overall and to me deserves more credit as a player in the NBA because he could play defense and he could pass the ball well and rebound. And on a side note I have a you tube channel type in Russell Mills May 22, 2017 to find me.
I got his jersey and one of my favorite Lakers of all time .. WORKED W KOBE and Kobe and Ai knew he was goin to be great.. should of stayed with lakers to get his title and or with heat .. 🍺🙏💪🔥🫡🥇
They played nothing alike and Eddie Jones could create his own shot off the dribble Reggie was strictly catch and shoot. Plus Eddie was taking off from the free throw line with dunks lol Eddie was different.
Indeed they were different. Eddie was a slasher that was 3and D capable shooting guard that was more of a swingman. MILLER was a lights out shooter . 1 dribble / catch and shoot automatic mid range to beyond 3point range .

I really wish they could have kept Eddie and moved him to SF. Lot of stories about happened and why, but man…
Dell was a stubborn bastard Kobe sat the bench

EJ was the Original 3 and D shooting guard swingman before it was popularized. One of the most unselfish 2guards of the 90s.
Damn I wish they would’ve kept EJ! He deserved a ring
Eddie Jones set off the fire alarm in this game.

More of EJ please!
Good game Eddie jones
Eddie Jones deserves to be on the HoF
I looked at the back of his basketball cards so much i remember his hometown to this very day. Pompano Beach, FL 😁
Steady Eddie!

Happy Tuesday
Magic and eddie was cold...i never knew
Oh, yeah....the year magic johnson came back out of retirement for that one year. Earvin Magic Johnson and Eddie Jones.
Very similar to Kobe, in fact I think Kobe learnt a lot from Eddie
there was only room for one good lookin small forward/shooting guard with flashy moves and a killa smile
@@Defender78 Yes you're right and that place was for our dear Kobe, Black Mamba!
@@yorchsaldan8766 still doesn't negate the fact that eddie was first to do it before kobe. He is still great.
@@GerardRaymondPanado-ig2up Yes, you're right, Eddie did it before and was a great player as well
deftly who kobe got his game ftom
Eddie Jones modeled his game after Reggie Miller clearly.

@@Sidewalk_Talk lol right SGA plays just like him today.

Why do I feel like Kobe stole his moves 😂
I’ll take Eddie over Kobe any day of the week
This is an awful highlight reel. Very disorganized.
