Other issues that I forgot to mention or others have raised: -continued sizing issues -the fidlock mechanism fell off of at least one helmet because the chin strap was not sewn properly -broken pad installation pins -glue and other defects on the pads - Ruroc claimed that the two different types of nape pads were because they wanted to save money on tooling, and thus removed the "Ruroc" branding on the nape-- however, they are shipping with the branded nape pad again. This is among the "new pad" configuration, separate from the original pads which also displayed the logo. There are currently two configurations of pads actively shipping, *after* they stopped producing the first set of pads. -scratches on the face and ears from the inside of the helmet -failed chin vents -mismatched pads (e.g. multiple pad sizes installed into the same helmet) -damaged chin curtains -damaged graphics -peeling gaskets Other users have also reported similar problems with Ruroc censoring negative reviews on paid third party review websites, as well as censoring reports of issues and negative reviews in the "Ruroc Motorcycle Gang" group on Facebook. Similarly, negativity about the Ruroc helmet is being censored in the Task Force Echo Hotel (Enginehawk) group. There are many more reports of Ruroc finding ways to ignore or deny returns, refunds, and cancellations. A Cycle Gear employee also recently told me that they cannot sell Ruroc helmets for insurance reasons… ⚠️ Folks-- even if this *was* a good helmet, do you really want to do business with a company who treats customers this way? Don't be fooled by the rare "over the top" things they do for some customers, like gifting them ridiculous gear packages-- it's all carefully selected for marketing.
Wow few things there to address, sorry to see or hear you've seen or heard those things but I assure you they're not true or not unfixable! 1) I've never seen a fidlock come off. One side can be manually loosened and removed and it is not sewn on as it does not need to be. We've tested the Fidlock extensively and hung a bike off it so we've not seen any issues there. 2) Pad pins - not sure what those are but sounds like something that if it has happened it would be a simple thing to replace and something we'd glad fix. 3) Glue - frustratingly does happen from time to time, but it does happen for every brand. Our team are working on engineering Glue out of the process but currently any lid you see out there is practically full of glue. 4) Not sure where the saving money on tooling thing came from, hopefully not one of our guys. The nape section was originally attached to the cheek pad and we removed this connection to make the new version where the cheek pads were unconnected... To save time when fixing our cheek pad delay issue we kept the original headliner (which was unbranded) and manufactured the new cheek pads that did not have a branded nape. We wanted to get these into the hands of customers as our priority rather than pushing our manufacturer to try to remake all of the headliners in time for the new dispatch date. We figured that you guys would love the materials we chose, and wouldn't be fussed about not having the Ruroc logo on an interior piece of the helmet if it meant you had to wait longer. People obviously got very upset when the Ruroc logo wasn't on the nape and our manufacturer had started producing some of the next batches headliners way ahead of time as they're mostly heat pressed and therefore are on a separate production line... And as people were upset we've started to feed them into the helmets we dispatch. There's no bit conspiracy here, we tried to correct an issue in the best way we could... some people like yourself weren't happy... so we tried to correct that issue for everyone as well. Everything we do, as bad as it may seem at times like this, we are 100% doing for the rider to fit their needs. 5) Scratches - just need to size up to the next helmet. Some people may argue that they use an M in another brand so should be an M in Atlas but that's just not how it works. 6) Failed chin vents? Not sure what that refers to but I'm sure that if it's something someone has found then it's something that we would replace very easily or exchange the helmet for. We absolutely never deny returns or refunds or cancellations - we have a whole team who manage it daily - I'm not sure where this comes from. Atlas is an awesome helmet (If I do say so myself). As for treating customers this way of course we don't want to be delaying orders and we're as upfront as we can be with everyone to say "send it back / cancel / whatever you need we'll help and do it". We made the apology packs with the snoods / flags / etc to give away as a gift to thank everyone for their patience. We don't have a magic wand and can't even travel to our suppliers or to our own factory to help fix or improve things and we haven't been able to for nearly 18 months now... I personally was the last to visit our suppliers and I left there in January 2020 just at the start of the Pandemic. We will always do our absolute best to help you guys if you give us the chance.
@@danruroc I am the guy who got the scratch on the ear, made my ear bleed. It is on my TH-cam channel and I used the guide right on your website (it says Small (s) 55cm - 56cm). I am a 55cm and when I buy other brands, they all are a size small. I don't understand that part where you say "Some people may argue that they use an M in another brand so should be an M in Atlas but that's just not how it works." What does that even mean?! So what you are saying that I should have gotten a Medium even though the size chart says small? So why does it say Small (55cm - 56cm) on your website in first place when it should say something like size up?? All the helmets I own are size small at 55-56cm. That is really confusing which I never expected I would have to size up to. I and many others have waited patiently for the helmet but now I have to wait again because using the size chart didn't make sense and not only do I have to now to an RMA, it literally injured me. Also I don't even know when I am getting the helmet. I sent it back about a week ago and I haven't heard anything. I know you're trying your best but from a customer standpoint, it is a bit frustrating to go through this. I do hope you take these into account because I like many others were enthusiastic with all the marketing material that was put out but now that enthusiasm has gone down hill fast.
@@5e11even Hey man - what it means is that people may think that because they're a size M in one brand that they should be a size M in all brands. That's sadly not true, and it's actually no different to T-Shirt fit in that all brands have their own fit. There's a number of reasons for that down to shell size, head shape, and some brands even advertise different sizes based on the certification that they're able to achieve. I'm really sorry for the hassle of sending the return back for an exchange and it'll be processed as quickly as possible once received back. I'm really sorry the helmet didn't fit you personally, like I said in my response to MotoTigress in a store this would be a non-issue because you'd try it and find it uncomfortable so you'd grab the next size up - it's unfortunate that it's become a review worthy situation but I completely understand the wait time compounding the annoyance and I am so sorry for that. Any issues drop jordan@ruroc.com a line and he'll get you sorted as quickly as he can :)
@@danruroc I appreciate you responding back, especially since you’re the face of the entire company. I get your analogy with t-shirts but my point still stands with the sizing issue. Like I mentioned, I own several brands, borrowed other brands and even tried brands I don’t have in motorcycle shops and size small (55cm - 56cm) were pretty consistent. The Atlas 3.0 was the only helmet that hurt while taking off and I am not sure why that reason for that is and I am not the only one complaining about it. Getting scratches, ear pain and me getting cut can be deeper issue with the sizing chart on your website or what is going on with the neck roll/padding. I might be the only person on earth with the bleeding ear issue and not sure what can be done about that but I digress. Other than that and my wait time frustrations, I will remain patient with the RMA process. I did want to do a follow up video if getting a medium up did solve any issues from my first impressions video since I did blast that out on my Instagram and want to remain transparent with my followers so I will take you up on your offer and contact Jordan if there are any issues with the RMA. Thanks.
@@5e11even no worries, any time. The new XS-S size shell was designed and introduced to literally be the smallest helmet shell in the world and therefore give the absolute best proportions against people's bodies i.e. it removes any bobbleheadness! But with a small shell comes small everything and it sounds like it's just simply not the right fit for you, so the M size shell with thicker padding will be spot on I'm sure of it :)
legitimate review? she is dissing how its tight going on and off, and how the coms arent going on ok....................pandeho its about safety not comfort
Thank God I found you! I was SOOLD on this helmet until now. it seems like we share very similar expectations when we spend our hard earned money on a "premium" product so thanks for your review 🤙🏽
Solid REAL REVIEW. To all helmet manufactures, this is is what happens when you spend your budget on marketing evil looking helmets and not actual R&D. Basically Ruroc thought they were going to make it on sub par garbage and got caught short lacking, and now doing damage control. Total clown show. Then they ignore complaints and censor riders? Game over Ruroc. Ride on.
Hey Real Legend! I'm Dan the CEO of Ruroc :) We never ignore complaints, and actually we put ourselves front and centre and year after year we've enhanced our product... in just 24ish months of being in the motorcycle helmet world we've released the 1.0, 2.0 and now 3.0 each time getting better and better whilst still offering a full Carbon Fibre shell at a price point less than Shoei/AGV/Arai offer their fibre glass shells. We spend a tonne on R&D actually and we are one of the few brands in the world with A) Our own in-house drop test rig and test lab. B) Our own manufacturing facility that we opened in January this year as all the big brands take priority for production in the big factories. Hope that helps give you a bit more info on us and the background of Ruroc!
@@danruroc Look brother we get that you need make money and all. We just prefer to have solid products that are on par with simimilar priced helmets. Less noisey, quality interior, censorless reviews, and proper true actuated ventilation. Do you understand how much money you are missing out on? Seriously sick helmets and designs, but looks dont protect domes and dont make riders comfortable and confident in product. Step up your game, put in work and fix these issues and make a solid helmet inside and out. Then and only then will you start gaining territory on Arai and Shoei. You can do it Ruroc, but you have to quit being greedy. Trust me, you will make more money for your company in the long run with superior interiors, excellent unmatched customer service, and dedicated support that actively adjusts designs quickly and owns mistakes immediatley. Thats how you eventually grow to scale and add shareholder value when you eventually IPO. Listen to me Dan. People seriously want to have a reason to trust and like yall, I want to have a reason to as well. However you have to truly respect yourselves and therby your customers first, otherwise other riders will keep feeling disrespected by your company. Essentially, if you want to close us, you should sell us. Simple. God Bless you.
@@RealLegend1776 Hey man, I'm not sure what you think we're being greedy with or how we're messing anyone around other than with an unfortunate delay situation caused by a single component. We sell Full Carbon Fibre shells at a price point less than AGV, Shoei and Arai. The review you're commenting on focuses largely on the fact that it doesn't fit the rider personally - which wouldn't be an issue if she had the next size up to try out. The aesthetic design makes the Atlas awesome, and with that design and the material choices like Carbon Fibre comes some compromise on Noise (which honestly is not that bad at all). We do all of our own development testing on our in-house test rig which is something most brands don't even have, and we reinvest non-stop on R&D and over the last 24 months since delivering Atlas 1.0 in 2019 have enhanced the product massively and delivered a world class lid in the form of Atlas 3.0. We are not being greedy at all, we are working non stop to give you guys the absolute best gear.
She is spot on. I bought the 2.0 and it’s basically a $500 paper weight. Everything she’s pointing out is 100% accurate.. what a Huge disappointment. And I call BS on the whole quality control thing it’s just in Ruroc’s way of saying they couldn’t keep up with the demand And made an excuse.. If quality control was an issue the Helmet would be a lot better than it is especially at the price point.
All the hype and “positive” reviews are the big motovloggers that are given the helmets for free. When you can’t purchase a helmet in a store, there is something wrong.
This is a safety item first and foremost it has to fit to work . I do not buy helmets off the internet I go into a shop and try them on before I pay up because of this . The dealership I use has shown me that people will use a helmet that doesn’t fit properly having brought on line ( a case of the customer isn’t always right). With Ruroc only selling on the internet this takes away the ability to compare it with other helmets until you have the thing in front of you and have paid the $450-$500 . I do think that having to buy vent plugs and a pin lock is a bad sign on a premium priced helmet also the change in the liners wasn’t ideal (they have also been the biggest complaint from independent bloggers) . This helmet looks like a case of not quite being ready for the market at the time of release . Cool design just not quite right.
I canceled my order in April due to the long waiting time for shipping. First I felt a bit sad, because I was hyped for this helmet. After viewing your review I am glad that I did this. Thanks for your honest opinion.
THANK YOU!!!!! I had to search long and hard to find your video but I am so glad I did. You actually did a hard, honest review. I, also, was attracted to the cult following and all the hype, design, and marketing. You have helped me immensely. I can't thank you enough.
I also worked in design and found it ridiculous that they changed the pads but overlooked the material chosen for the plastic clips that hold them in. They broke the first time I took them out to out speakers in!
Lesson 1 - money spent in marketing is money not spent on R&D. The money Geico spends in adds does not go to customers' claims. Something to think about Lesson 2 - good products does virtually NOT need marketing. Honest reviews like this one is way more valuable then marketing. Lesson 3 - American does not necessary mean good...unfortunately. As much as I would like to buy American (cause I'm exceedingly patriotic) I would not bug American mechanic or electronic. Fender makes top notch electric guitars and tube amps in US, Taylor and Martin make excellent guitars, not as good as Italians though, Ford is doing OK, but I would not buy american high end audio, they are mostly expensive crap. Many American manufacturers are ruining made in US reputation. Canadians make reliable high end audio. I did no know about Rurock until I looked at Shoei's reviews and many other reviews pointed at yours and what you shared here is very valuable. Thanks to you and other reviews not only I will NEVER buy Ruroc but will tell ALL my friends. Big hug.
Appreciate your honest review! The more research I’ve done, especially through real reviews on YT the more I realize that they’re all hype, thanks to their marketing machine. I passed and went with a Bell Star DLX, so glad I did. Thanks again!
Thank you for being real. I went with the Shoei Neotec2 but i was considering this helmet. That being said so many Moto Vlogers are pushing this thing I was skeptical to buy it. I subbed your channel just because you had the guts to do this and that to me is awesome!Keep it up!
Whassup! I think her review is good in that it is unemotional. She keeps it real. I will add, however, her complaints in the beginning are more head-size/shape related more so than manufacturer deficiency. This falls more under the category of risk buying online or overseas versus buying at a brick-and-mortar business.
Hey MotoTigress! I saw your recent meme about the ruroc atlas on yammie noobs yamcast, and thought it was hilarious! After watching your review, can I just say it’s great to see someone give a proper uncensored opinion on what has quickly become, as you say, a “boutique” brand. I personally use Arai helmets, at the moment I use the Arai RX7-v, and it’s amazing! Your review has reinforced my own opinion of ruroc, and believe they nothing more than a fly by night company that will disappear, just like scully did, and any other Kickstarter concept. Thanks again for your honesty! 💯👌
Agreed. Stick with Arai or Shoei if you want to fork out some serious money for a helmet. Both are good brands, comfortable, and SAFE. Even HJC would blow this company out of the water.
If you are going to get an Arai, and are in the USA, you need to get it from a REPUTABLE dealer. There are a TON of RX7 clones out there on eBay...I see guys giving negative reviews of the RX7 and saying its a Corsair....and when you ask where they got it, its eBay from Japan or some other country.....BUYER BEWARE when you are trying to save 50-100 bucks and are willing to go out of country vice just biting the bullet and getting it from a true dealer. There are a TON of clones out there that in no way represent the quality of both Shoei and Arai so if you are going to get one, simply save up and make sure the one you get is authentic...
@@redrider0151 I totally agree! I’ve never bought a helmet online, and I never will do! I work in the motorcycle retail industry, and I can not stress how important it is to see a helmet and try it before you buy. There are way too many fakes out there, especially from AliExpress, wish, eBay etc!
are you American because for some reason Americans don't know that ruroc have been around in the ski helmet market for a while. I personally think they'll get there eventually, they just have too much money to be spending from the ski side to be doing all this marketing and shit then making it seem better than it is
I've been wondering what the actual reviews for this thing is, all we've seen were Ruroc reviews that started with "this box showed up and it's so neato!". Thank you for a real view. The "redesigned for quality" pads certainly seem to be more along the lines of "redesigned for bottom line" instead.
Right on the money, Steph! A $500 lid should have vents that open and close, like my $200 DOT/ Snell approved, quiet, comfortable, Bell SRT. One review I watched had a comment asking if the helmet was compatible with wearing glasses. Struck me funny because if anyone was wearing glasses when they looked at this helmet they wouldn't buy it anyway.
Thanks for your honest review about the Ruroc. This video is why I didn't end up buying this helmet and I got a Shoei instead. The Ruroc sure is a good looking paper weight though😆😆😆
Thank you for the thorough review. This is how we can help all riders and let the industry know what is in fact important and acceptable to us, the customer. It is unacceptable for a company to simply remove a review of concerns rather than engage in an ethical manner showing care and support for the customer’s issues. Please continue to offer honest reviews by demonstrating and educating us on the good and the bad.
Thanks for your review. I have added a ruroc to my shopping basket 3 times. But keep holding off. Im glad I haven't bought one now. Great honest review. Thanks for saving me alot of money.
I’ve seen so many reviews about this helmet from some of the bigger channels and I’ve never heard that bit about the vents. That’s honestly too important to be left out. Thank you for the honesty.
I think it’s easy to miss because you would assume that any helmet at this price point has functioning, controllable vents (because anything you pick up in a store does!). It felt extra insulting to make that discovery after receipt.
I got an Atlas 3.0 (it was on sale) and it's going back - all this before watching your video. I rarely get headaches and trying to put the helmet on and taking off was hell. I went with their recommended size by the way.
I had really wanted to get a Ruroc, but held off and eventually went with a Shark Evo ES (on recommendation from my instructor) and I'm so glad I did. Yours and other similar videos/reviews, that aren't blinded by fandom, just reinforce my decision - Oh yeah, and I also saved over £150...
I unboxed my new Bell race star flex helmet today and loved it so much. Then I go on IG and see a DOPE ruroc 3.0 helmet. I check the price and find out it's way cheaper than my helmet. I instantly get buyers remorse and start looking at reviews for the Ruroc to see if it's better than the race star. After this I can fortunately say I made the right choice!
Thank you so much for this straight and honest review. You've saved me from spending money for a Ruroc helmet. I always had the feeling that something must be wrong with a hyped product like that. I will definitely go for an Arai, too.
Oh man... I appreciate your review. It made me regret buying one, but in return I gained the knowledge of researching more extensively from your review. Thank you for opening my eyes. This is a truly honest review.
Was seriously considering this helmet but good things it’s over priced and it was not at the top of my choices. Hahaha. So I went with scorpion exo r1 carbon and im really happy with it. Comes with pin lock, extra dark smoke lens. HJC is better than ruroc specially with their rpha line up.
Thank you for sharing this vital using experience! I was about to purchase one just a day ago, and the reason why I haven’t done it is because their ad and feedback from their users are just too good to be true. Again, thank you for making this video and I’m terribly sorry for what have happened to you.
Well your review did it for me as soon as I was done with your review and of course yours was in the only review I saw but it definitely help me make a decision to cancel my order. Hopefully this company will get it together and I can order another helmet in the later future thank you for your review.
Great review. I really appreciate the honesty. WAS considering the Ruroc... But this video kind of confirmed my suspicions and am now probably going to go with a Shoei or AGV.
Helmet update: The Ruroc is officially retired from the riding line-up just a few weeks after receiving it. I now have two new helmets that I will be reviewing next weekend-- stay tuned!!! I'll go ahead and spoil the reviews now: they are both outstanding helmets and I'm so tickled to be back on the road with functional helmets. :) I also wanted to thank everyone for the support. I am going to invest in this channel and try to bring you all the honest and unbiased content that you want. I think this video exposed a little bit of a pain point in the motovlogger space so let's do something about that, together. Ride safe!
Ruroc said they would send a medium with thicker pads that they are developing near the end of August. Frankly, I am extremely skeptical that it will fit any better and it also doesn’t solve all the quality issues with these helmets. It was necessary I find a better value helmet.
That has to be the most politely delivered negative review of a helmet I have ever watched. Kudos to you for articulating your opinion that the helmet was of a poor quality so well.
This was such a solid review. I've been waiting for mine, because I was interested in a company that was supposedly "for the riders". Glad I found a real review that shows how this helmet truly is. Probably going cancel my order and go with another HJC (I've always ridden in HJC) or going with a more premium helmet like an Icon.
Good luck with your new Arai helmet, and thanks for the honest review. I always felt that they were overselling these and now their Engine Hawk line of gear as well. Should be noted that in their TH-cam videos one of the owners kept saying that all the jackets will be CE AAA rated, but now when you go to buy them, their website states they are CE AA rated.....lots of hype, and in the end no promises kept like the Atlas 3.0 so it seems.
Glad someone is doing a real review of this helmet. It seems to be the same with every version of their helmets. All the big name youtubers throw out these amazing reviews on the helmets but when you find someone doing an honest review their helmets always suck...at least for a "premium" helmet. It's too bad cause they have the best looking helmets on the market in my opinion. I personally have a Shoei and have been nothing but happy with it for years.
I was actually considering one of these !!! …. Thank you for taking the time to do a detailed review. Maybe some of the other brands will send you some helmets to talk about and give your honest opinion 😁
So much respect for you to make this video and tell the truth. So many well respected TH-camrs are singing the praises of this helmet, yet they are getting kickbacks or free merchandise and so it really taints their perspective. This was the final video I needed to make up my decision to cancel my already prolonged order. Thank you for this video.
Hey Marlon - I'm Dan the CEO of Ruroc. So sorry that you decided to cancel. I've written a response to the MotoTigresses review above that might be worth checking out. One of the main concerns that I can see in the review is simply that the fit is suboptimal for her head shape / size. Atlas offers more shell sizes than a lot of the lower end helmets and from a few of the things MotoTigress said (in/out entry was tight - hard feeling on the cheek pads when inside) this all just points to her needing the size M shell with thicker inner padding. As for loudness which seemed to be the other main concern well it is just a known fact that full Carbon Fibre shells are thinner than thick heavy plastic shells. You'll get better protection in a CF lid, and it can be worn with ear plugs to fix any noise concerns. The comfort for the pads in Atlas 3.0 is awesome, the Jersery fabric is super soft and smooth you'd honestly love it believe me.
@@danruroc I'm blown away at the level of engagement and communication Ruroc continues to demonstrate in the community. Having corresponded with Ruroc customer service a couple of times, I have nothing but positive comments regarding their availability and quick response. My decision to cancel my order was not made lightly. Your products, both helmets and Enginehawk apparel, are works of art. I would have loved to actually have the helmet myself to judge the quality and fitment. However due to the communicated shipping delays, I would have received my helmet after the date of my MSF course. So as you can imagine that was a contributing factor. I am truly thankful for your response and as a continuing evolving company I wish you nothing but success.
@@vedder10 completely understand man, and really sorry we let you down on this occasion!! We're always learning, and improving, and hopefully we'll win you back in the not too distant future!
Thank you for this Review!!!!! I've had 2.0 and now 3.0 in the Cart on Ruroc website for the past 2 years. I love the look of this helmet but never pulled the trigger. I was always curious because so many mototubers were getting their helmets for free and were hyping them up. This shines a light on the issue quality of promotional products vs what we'd be getting and I'll be holding my $500 for something else. I did order a Enginehawk jacket the other day so hopefully that will be a more positive review
Thanks for your honest review . I was so close to ordering one for myself as they look great. I have watched quite a few videos on TH-cam saying how great they were and now realise that they were being paid to say these good things about the helmets. I now will go back to the drawings board and look for a new helmet, but this time look a bit closer at the reviews online. Thankyou.
Just got mine. Unfortunately, my order was missing the Shockwave sound module, and the padding shows obvious issues with QC. For the price and the wait we were forced to endure due to continued delays, I would have expected more. The helmet is beautiful though. Unless they make this right, I doubt I will by Ruroc again. Yes, I contacted them, but since it’s the weekend, I haven’t heard back. UPDATE: The next week I received my Shockwave module and 3 days later a customer service representative contacted me to check back and also offered to send me padding replacements, which I have since received. Overall, the padding is still inferior to what I have in a $200 (2006) Icon helmet. My real beef is with the Shockwave module though. I love that it is integrated into the helmet and easily removed for charging if you want to. The real problem is with the buttons. Wearing gloves and wearing a leather jacket makes it near impossible to reach, find, and activate them. One function, to dial the last called number, requires you to push two buttons at the same time, and that requires enough force to push the helmet over your eyebrows. That said, I could only do it without wearing my gear. With the jacket and armor, there was no way to reach or feel them properly. This thing really needs a Bluetooth remote to work effectively. On the outside, this is a gorgeous helmet, On the inside though, it has a long way to go to justify its price tag.
Really great video thank you I’ve heard a lot of the same comments but you’ve told the total truth,a lot of people have said some of the things that are wrong with it but are to ashamed to admit they spent so much money on a rubbish helmets so a big thankyou you’ve saved me so much money ❤️❤️
yea, my LS2 is my go to out of my 6 helmets. and is my 2nd oldest one,I have the LS2 Wolf, I get compliments on it ALL THE TIME too. Massively underated Co.
So glad you made this video; so glad I found it too. I was just about to “pull the trigger” and get one because the design is the best out there. Then I see their CEO doing damage control in your comments section, skirting around the aforementioned issues, further cementing the validity of your claims. It turns out that Ruroc is the Wish version of the premium helmet.
Thanks for the honest review… so many paid fake reviews on TH-cam. I ordered mine on release day and still waiting. I really really like the design of the Helmets but the fact that ruroc give a sh.. of their customers and instead of shipping the Pre Orders they drop more Helmets moved me to cancel my order. 600$+customs fees are too much for a mediocre helmet with a cool design. Sorry for my bad english😂 anyway thank you for making the decision easier for me. Greetings from Germany and ride safe✌🏻
Thanks. Almost got it. A friend told me that they are noisy as hell and you validated it. So thanks much. Love my AGV K1. A bit heavy but super premium.
Thank you so much for this review. Was thinking about buying this thing but could not find a good review untill i stumbled on your video. You're a true review-tiger! +1Sub
Very interesting point of view, thanks for the video. I was actually looking to buy one this month because of all the great reviews out there but it's good to hear your feedback on this.
You make some good points! Been thinking of getting a Ruroc Atlas 3.0 myself, but haven’t decided yet. If you ever get in the market for a more expensive, premium helmet I highly recommend looking into Arai or Shoei. I really like both my Arai and Shoei helmets. They are definitely the best helmets I’ve ever owned, especially the Arai!
I purchase the exact same helmet. thank you very much! Mine has not arrived yet I will be canceling my order today! I've been waiting for ever for somebody to give this an honest review.
Hi Corey, be sure to view more reviews than mine but yes, these concerns are starting to proliferate. 5e11even here on TH-cam did a whole series on this helmet. Several people have posted about their issues with the pads to various websites outside of a TH-cam as well.
So based on your comment it's only a "real" review if someone is unhappy with it. Because there are plenty of experienced rider reviews out there that were not sponsored. Also for anyone reading a new helmet is supposed to fit tight when new, you are meant to break it in after some wear. Also, I have never heard Ruroc telling people to give a positive review when sending them out. In my opinion, Ruroc is a valuable helmet company that actually listens to people's critique and changes what is needed to be changed in the next-gen. Also, that convo with them on Facebook sounds weird to me I would like to see screenshots of that convo. In my opinion, they are new to motorcycle helmets and are improving constantly with every helmet and have already built a loyal fan base a little strange to call it cult-like when they are most likely just fans keeping an eye for the next gen. I know they can improve over time and don't want to keep sucking them off, but a lot of what was said seems unfair to me. also why attach a sena when they have a shockwave system that is made for the helmet. People are entitled to there opinion and i guess we just have emposing one so it is what it is.
@@Choosetoone I’ll send you my screenshots I got my comment and posting privileges turned off for asking about the liners like the girl on this video actually she got banned What a way to listen to customer critique If you go to the group you can se a post from a girl that her fidlock mechanism fell of on a short test ride out of nowhere That’s the fidlock mechanism they show lifting a motorcycle on their website That just fell off no it’s supposed to keep your head attached to your helmet a very vital part of a Motorcycle helmet She’s getting a replacement but I wouldn’t trust the replacement That was the las straw for me and canceled Helmets are shipping with the faulty “premium” liner and the new design liner that looks like the ones in the cheapest Walmart helmets
Thank you. I believe this is a reason why so many TH-camrs won’t honestly criticize the helmet. Everyone here is trying to make money and get free stuff, and it totally clouds their judgement and honesty. Pumping every company out there so they give you kickbacks would be so exhausting!
Great and honest review! 500 dollars for this is absolutely unacceptable. If you're looking into Arai's I highly recommend the Regent-X or Profile-V (same helmet) they have a slightly wider opening making the on/off process a breeze, also the padding in the helmet is bar none the absolute best you will ever find in any helmet. It's also pretty quiet.
I was leery of this showmanship right from the start. All show and no go. Thank you for a fantastic honest review and I’m sorry this happened to you. As they say “lesson learned”. Ride safe!
I was this 🤏🏽 close to buy a ruroc and spend 1K with all the things included but I was stopped three times and before paying I decided to check reviews and Im so fucking glad I found this. Thank you so much.
Same, after 2 days use of my 2.0 I hated it and ordered a new helmet, so much wind noise, loose fit, I also wear glasses and whenever I would turn my helmet to check lanes before switching helmet would move due to the wind and also move my glasses so I’d have to lift my visor to adjust my glasses which wasn’t bad at 45ish mph, but if I was on the highway it was harder for me to want to do, cause I’m constantly looking around and being aware of my surroundings so I would have to constantly adjust my glasses, but with my new helmet figment is great and my glasses stay in place and so much more pleased with my riding experience that I can enjoy my motorcycle hell of a lot more and now worry about wind constantly moving my helmet up and down and side to side and constantly dislodging my glasses (side note I’m looking in lasik just to also help increase the level of comfortability of riding)
I also bought a 3.0 and I whole heartily agree with everything you've said, I bought the shockwave though so I didnt have the issue with comms unit, the pads are shit, they clearly won't last, honestly anyone who wants to a ruroc, don't
Wow, honestly, thank you. I was about to purchase it today, because its in sale right now but after this review, I am done. Thanks a lot, you saved me over 400€!
@@Fearless154 i have both actually, Rf-1200 and a ruroc 2.0. I still like the Rf-1200 compare to the Ruroc. Rf-1200 is still a bit lighter and have a smaller shell(IMO)
If she has a “Bell” head, the RF would be a good shape. I’ve found that Bell and Shoei really have similar internal shapes. I’m an Arai guy, Corsair X to be exact. I just have an Arai Mellon.

I"m glad that TH-cam recommended this video to me. I am in the market to replace my Shoei RF1200 and was seriously considering the Ruroc to save a few bucks. But not any longer. Super helpful video! Thank you!
Looks like I'll be sticking with my AGVs. I was interested in the Rurocs. Got caught in their marketing and the looks. Then I noticed on the FB groups people are saying to avoid them. Your video is the most thorough experience with the brand and I appreciate the time you took to share your experience. Thank you. Ruroc is starting to look like the in-n-out burgers of helmets.
Thanks, I usually rather stay with well known and proven brands for my motorcycle gear but as you say the marketing is really good. I'm glad I watched this before wasting so much money.
well, lucky I stumbled across your video after I watched Maxwell reviewing it. I think he is one of those tubers that got it free and was careful not to project a negative review. I could actually hear really loud whistle noise as he was riding...he didn't mention any of the negative things you mentioned here for obvious reasons...so thanks for that. I was actually trying to work out as whether or not this helmet has an internal sunvisor....must have for me here in super sunny Queensland. However, after your review it doesn't matter anymore since I will not buy this helmet. Thanks again. much appreciated rsm8
Great review, I actually paid £550 to preorder one of the helmets but emailed to cancel my order as soon as they sent the message about the quality concerns over the padding. So glad now! Good for you for pointing out the difference between the advertising and the final release 👍🏻
A very honest review. I was on the fence about getting one. You're not the first to complain about the helmet quality. I have two helmets as well, and was looking to add another. I think I'll go the Modular route now. Thanks for an honest review.
Bought the original atlas 1.0 as I got involved with the hype. Quickly regretted it when I got it. It hurt so much taking it on and off and quickly sent it back. Then the atlas 2.0 came out and yet again I didn't learn my lesson and thought they improved on the helmet. Of course they didn't. Luckily a month in with the delays looming I cancelled it and never looked back. It still shocks me that they make a new helmet yearly, I'm sorry but this isn't COD or FIFA, no one needs a new helmet yearly. If they actually waited 3-5 years and really improved on the previous helmet I feel like they would do a lot better.
Sheesh. I was literally about to buy the helmet right now and then I go on TH-cam to look up the helmet and boom this video pops up. You saved me, thank you so much!!!
Other issues that I forgot to mention or others have raised:
-continued sizing issues
-the fidlock mechanism fell off of at least one helmet because the chin strap was not sewn properly
-broken pad installation pins
-glue and other defects on the pads
- Ruroc claimed that the two different types of nape pads were because they wanted to save money on tooling, and thus removed the "Ruroc" branding on the nape-- however, they are shipping with the branded nape pad again. This is among the "new pad" configuration, separate from the original pads which also displayed the logo. There are currently two configurations of pads actively shipping, *after* they stopped producing the first set of pads.
-scratches on the face and ears from the inside of the helmet
-failed chin vents
-mismatched pads (e.g. multiple pad sizes installed into the same helmet)
-damaged chin curtains
-damaged graphics
-peeling gaskets
Other users have also reported similar problems with Ruroc censoring negative reviews on paid third party review websites, as well as censoring reports of issues and negative reviews in the "Ruroc Motorcycle Gang" group on Facebook. Similarly, negativity about the Ruroc helmet is being censored in the Task Force Echo Hotel (Enginehawk) group.
There are many more reports of Ruroc finding ways to ignore or deny returns, refunds, and cancellations.
A Cycle Gear employee also recently told me that they cannot sell Ruroc helmets for insurance reasons… ⚠️
Folks-- even if this *was* a good helmet, do you really want to do business with a company who treats customers this way?

Thank God I found you! I was SOOLD on this helmet until now. it seems like we share very similar expectations when we spend our hard earned money on a "premium" product so thanks for your review 🤙🏽
Bro aint got 300$ to spend on R22-06 helmet that will last him years, yuck-
Solid REAL REVIEW.
I'm Dan the CEO of Ruroc :)
We never ignore complaints, and actually we put ourselves front and centre and year after year we've enhanced our product... in just 24ish months of being in the motorcycle helmet world we've released the 1.0, 2.0 and now 3.0 each time getting better and better whilst still offering a full Carbon Fibre shell at a price point less than Shoei/AGV/Arai offer their fibre glass shells.
@@danruroc Still does help that you guys put the 2.0 liner in the 3.0. When it was advertised that there's a new liner for the 3.0.

Just saw this comment after posting, big true xD
I still give this video props for speaking the truth and not just taking money to shill a garbage product.
I canceled my order in April due to the long waiting time for shipping. First I felt a bit sad, because I was hyped for this helmet. After viewing your review I am glad that I did this. Thanks for your honest opinion.
Girl you rock! Thanks for the honest review - can't wait to see more of your content!
THANK YOU!!!!! I had to search long and hard to find your video but I am so glad I did. You actually did a hard, honest review. I, also, was attracted to the cult following and all the hype, design, and marketing. You have helped me immensely. I can't thank you enough.
A very helpful, thorough and well justified review. You addressed the issues as they are and paid attention to the real problems. Thanks!
Something to think about
Lesson 2 - good products does virtually NOT need marketing.
Big hug.

neotec 2 is great
She killed this review. 🔥

Ditto
Vent plugs?! The helmet is already $500! That’s really sad about the customer service. Thanks for the honest review. Well explained.
Right??? Wth?? 🤦🏽♂️ so glad I saw this.
Duct tape!
And it's not even a race helmet like AGV Pista
Right on the money, Steph! A $500 lid should have vents that open and close, like my $200 DOT/ Snell approved, quiet, comfortable, Bell SRT. One review I watched had a comment asking if the helmet was compatible with wearing glasses. Struck me funny because if anyone was wearing glasses when they looked at this helmet they wouldn't buy it anyway.

Thank you for the thorough review. This is how we can help all riders and let the industry know what is in fact important and acceptable to us, the customer. Great honest review. Thanks for saving me alot of money.
Thanks for the review. So many moto influencers rave about it. I appreciate the honest review.
Awesome. Great to get some true "everyday" user reviews instead of reviews from the people who get given multiple Ruroc helmets for free!
I got an Atlas 3.0 (it was on sale) and it's going back - all this before watching your video. I rarely get headaches and trying to put the helmet on and taking off was hell. I went with their recommended size by the way.
Thank you for doing this, ruroc is finally getting what it deserves. I bought a 2.0 and went through a lot of the same crap.
really appreciate this review! thanks
Look up Arai XD-4. Almost looks like the Ruroc. It has nothing but positive reviews on here and forums.
I also wanted to thank everyone for the support. I am going to invest in this channel and try to bring you all the honest and unbiased content that you want. I think this video exposed a little bit of a pain point in the motovlogger space so let's do something about that, together. Ride safe!
Did you try getting it exchanged for a larger size?
Ruroc said they would send a medium with thicker pads that they are developing near the end of August. Frankly, I am extremely skeptical that it will fit any better and it also doesn’t solve all the quality issues with these helmets. It was necessary I find a better value helmet.
i was wonder was it you that yammie mention on his ruroc meme review?
UPDATE: it was you! haha great job with that shot into the bin haha
Icon helmets are loud just like these. It’s all about looks.
Bless you, an honest review. Thank you for saving me money.
I saw they have a sale coming up. Figured I’d do some research before buying one and I’m thankful I did. You just saved me a lot of money
Thank you for saving me a few bucks. Disappointed that motovloggers I respect did reviews that were not as genuine.
They live off brand deals these days so I kinda get it but yea... still disappointing none the less
@@Juuul89 Why would lieing for profit at the expense of their viewers justify that in anyway?
Nice review. Thanks for taking the time. Good job👍 that's one off the list.
Thanks Marlon! I just want to help others. It’s been a big bummer for me but it doesn’t have to be for you!
Thankyou.
try it on before you buy....
Wow. Just in time for youtube to recommend your video. I was saving up to buy the ruroc atlas 3.0 matte red. Good thing I watched this first.
Good luck with customer service, I hope they provide adequate support.
Really great video thank you I’ve heard a lot of the same comments but you’ve told the total truth,a lot of people have said some of the things that are wrong with it but are to ashamed to admit they spent so much money on a rubbish helmets so a big thankyou you’ve saved me so much money ❤️❤️
Was considering getting one cuz they look cool as hell. Glad I saw this, I'll stick to my ls2
yea, my LS2 is my go to out of my 6 helmets. and is my 2nd oldest one,I have the LS2 Wolf, I get compliments on it ALL THE TIME too. Massively underated Co.

Thanks for an honest and non-sponsored review. You saved me from wasting money 😁
Thank you for contributing to the truth and speaking up! And yes the cult following is going to go mental about anyone who says nay
I appreciate your straightforwardness real talk and communication your directness and honesty is greatly appreciated thank you God bless
More and more people are saying this helmet sux!!! Thank you for your honest review.
Thank you for watching! Yes, it is a shame how they conduct business.
Thanks. Almost got it. A friend told me that they are noisy as hell and you validated it. So thanks much. Love my AGV K1. A bit heavy but super premium.
Thank you for the truly honest review on this helmet , appreciate🙏🏻
Thank you so much for this review. Was thinking about buying this thing but could not find a good review untill i stumbled on your video. You're a true review-tiger! +1Sub
I canceled my order today. To many bad reviews and mine still hasn't shipped.
Just get a premium AGV helmet.. They're farrrr better
Cancelled my order too and get a Shoei GT Air 2 with Sena SRL2 🤙🏻 and I'm happy as a little kid on every ride🤪🤙🏻
@@googlespiesonuslide3188 clearly you didn't see what actually was talked about in her convo with ruroc .... should actually take look
@@Mluliana how so ?
@@Mluliana how are the Arai helmets?
We need to get more real reviews out there, thank you for speaking up!
Sad to see people still buying into this company.
@@Choosetoone I’ll send you my screenshots I got my comment and posting privileges turned off for asking about the liners like the girl on this video actually she got banned
What a way to listen to customer critique
If you go to the group you can se a post from a girl that her fidlock mechanism fell of on a short test ride out of nowhere
That’s the fidlock mechanism they show lifting a motorcycle on their website
That just fell off no it’s supposed to keep your head attached to your helmet a very vital part of a Motorcycle helmet
She’s getting a replacement but I wouldn’t trust the replacement
That was the las straw for me and canceled
Helmets are shipping with the faulty “premium” liner and the new design liner that looks like the ones in the cheapest Walmart helmets
Sometimes it's difficult to give negative feedback. Thank you for your honesty. 👍
Ride safe!
Save up and get a Arai or Shoei, can’t go wrong with those two.
I second that!
i concur been using Shoei since 2000. I do have have the RF1400.
@@SandrossAlim very nice. I switched frim Bell to Shoei last year, i have the x14 and i love it.
Shoei RF-1400 is da bomb
Or a Schuberth... I have all 3.
I would recommend the shoei RF-1400. The helmet is perfect
Agree, I own an RF-1200 it's hard to beat the build quality and comfort of this helmet in this price range. RF-1400 seems like a big step up.

Thank you!
whew. Saved by this video. Almost bought one. Thank you for the video. I wish I could give this two likes.
Thank you, I was about to buy one at 41% off for their Black Friday deal. I won’t be now.
AGV 75 years of making helmets they know a thing or 2 by now the ruroc ones just look like flashy paint jobs and marketing fluff.
Very glad I came across this. As I was looking at them. Will definitely stick to what I know.
Jeez...I'm so glad I found this. Thank you, had my cart filled up and was gonna give ruroc a try. Looks like I'm gonna stick with Nexx.
Thanks again. much appreciated

Great review, I actually paid £550 to preorder one of the helmets but emailed to cancel my order as soon as they sent the message about the quality concerns over the padding. So glad now! Good for you for pointing out the difference between the advertising and the final release 👍🏻
I had a sneaking suspicion that the helmet would suck. Thanks for your honesty and thorough review. Subscribed.
