Quick question Matthew, the industry talks a lot about bitcoin going to $1 million per coin, but I was wondering what your thoughts are on what happens after that? Will there still be speculators at that level, and will the TradFi industry co-opt bitcoin to push the price even higher. If so, what will their narrative be at that time (when BTC is $1 mil). Thanks
Hello Matthew, I study bitcoin since 3 years and I am as convinced of it as you are. Anyhow, would like to get your thoughts on the following: Except from buying Bitcoin OTC or mining directly, most people buy bitcoin on exchanges. The initial KYC process opens the possibility to connect Bitcoin address(es) to personal data. In a future where a suppressive regime or criminals might get this data, people with many bitcoin could be specificly identified and totured to get their private keys. So they do not need to "visit" every bitcoiner, but e.g. only the top 200 hodlers in the country to get a substantial amount of bitcoin. Should be easily doable in my opinion. Maybe there is also not enough time to leave the country in advance. Do you recognize this as a risk for these people or is this example too theoretical? If yes, is there something someone could do to prevent this situation?
I am Venezuelan. I really didn't have a choice, so I'm 100% all in on bitcoin (except for the house). The difference between my situation and that of someone from the US or Europe is just timing and a question of scale- but you will all get to where I am eventually because the so called first world is being Venezuelanized sooner or later. And by the way, I do find that I sleep easier at nights because of this.
Americans have had a few options that we have ignored for decades. I'm not talking about the 2A either. We've been in a slow motion decline for 50 years plus, and have collectively chosen television programming and new cars instead of taking control of the bought and sold govt. I hate it, but, we're reaping what we've sown. Good leadership, tough leadership could straighten us out, block the WEF and restore our ability to sustain ourselves. We'll have to see. This is a global battle, we should be at the forefront of, not debating genders and engaging polarized political battles. Take care Venezuela. 📜🇺🇸🦅
@@dont.ripfuller6587 leadership and governance - no matter how good, is a fallacy. It's an mirage people cling to thinking that things will be fixed. They won't be - because fiat and humans innate greed go had in hand - and always ends up where we are now. Bitcoin also relies on human greed to drive the incentive that protects it and makes it stronger. That's why Bitcoin will win, and Bitcoin is the only solution to our failing societies.
@@MrRem7600 That's an interesting perspective. I've been thinking lately of the upper powers as a sort of mirror, reflecting below, we look up to the reflection expecting change to occur there and trickle down, but a reflection can only reflect what it sees, thereby putting the power to change or to not change, in our hands and our individual lives. Fiat...fiat, fiat fiat. Much better for value to be stabilized. Seeing how some of the players have worked the fiat system "successfully", and benefited from inflation, has had me pondering what 100 million dollars at my disposal might be. (I was raised less than poor, worked my way to secure, not rich, have what I need though). The thought of what power 100milion, or 10 billion dollars is terrifies me. The American USD has facilitated the development of some really disgusting bad actors. Eh, I'm rambling, it's almost my bedtime. Have a good morning 🌅, we're securing Bitcoin, gold, silver, and food. It's gonna be a bumpy road for a while.
It wasn’t your “advice” that convinced me to put 100% into Bitcoin, 2 years ago - it was the fundamentals that you presented so well and the fact that I could verify (not “trust”) everything myself. It took about a year for me to DCA everything out of my retirement accounts into self-custodied Bitcoin. THANK YOU for your ongoing commitment to educating the community.
I put everything into Bitcoin, except a bit of cash. We aren’t talking lots of money, but it’s all I’ve got. I studied Bitcoin, very thoroughly, subscribed for a couple of months, to Matt’s site; watched the additional content - it was worth every penny. Once I really comprehended the concept of Bitcoin and the history, there was no other choice. It was such a relief; such a wonderful surprise in the midst of so much darkness in the world. I sold all my stocks, in 2021 - I trusted my intuition. I’m SO glad I did. It all lead me to Matthew, and the pursuit of a much more thorough education about economics. It’s the confidence I have in the concept of Bitcoin, that gives me a sense of security. Not the price, not the fluctuation of the markets, none of this; not a person, not even Matthew. There is a purity in this, that gives it such integrity.
Everything you said I agree with, except for gold and silver. Back in 2018 (I think), I bought 3 BTC at $350 each. Later that year, I read some negative articles about BTC (yeah, my first exposure to DUD) and sold them at $600 each. Later on into 2019, I sold all my gold and silver for about 3 or 4 BTCs and have held my current 7 regardless of market moves. Oh, and I bought gold and silver again accumulating a nice large amount of each. I did this for safe investment as neither of them will go to a zero price. And I like having a tangible horde that we can see and count. Phys is good! I'm 76 and not sure how long I might live to see BTC hit at least $100k. I'm a subber of yours and really like your low key approach with reliable info. Cheers, Bob
I think your timeline is a bit off… I remember looking to buy BTC for the first time in May 2017 and it was right around $2k (I remember this very well because I never ended up buying any and kick myself to this day)…. At $350 it would have been a few years earlier.
What an absolutely fantastic observation. I do have basically all my wealth in cold storage in btc. I have stepped off the treadmill, and I stack true wealth and now have a new mindset where the future looks so much brighter. Thanks for sharing my sentiments. I have been scared to recommend to anyone what to do. But I know for me, all in on true preservation of my purchasing power is what I want. I am NOT and investor. I am a saver! This is my vehicle. But now, saving is actually an effective strategy. Love that Mozart comparison.
@@Bitcoin_University it wasn’t possible for a long time. People of my generation have zero context of why our grandparents would say “save save save! And put it in the banks and get interest!” Never made any sense. There has been no reward for saving, no inventive to delay gratification. Saving has been punished and debtors rewarded. We were forced to become investors as well as have a trade. Now, I save. For 4 years now. No point in checking the price. I am a lowly small business owner and tradesman thrown into a losing game (of fiat) with no choice. And yet, now I have out preformed doctors and lawyers alike because I am a saver. For the last 10 years, savers, only of a certain sort, have won. The rest will figure it out eventually. One by one. Now I want a sailboat, a bought a telescope (using dirty fiat) to do the astronomy I’ve always wanted to do, because I know that I can work and save. But I save in a Bitcoin standard. My telescope was £6k. A ridiculous amount to spend to a lot of people. But, I have saved more! And now I know I can do more, as long as I keep saving. The world is different now for the better. Savers will be rewarded again. Love the channel.
Matthew, thank you. As someone who has brought this topic up multiple times in your comments sections, I am delighted to see this addressed in this video. I already have a significant amount of wealth in BTC and continue to decrease my fiat holding over time as my conviction grows. Hearing about your journey away from fiat and into BTC gives us an interesting perspective on the matter. That said, I continue to read, research and listen to increase my knowledge and conviction as it relates to BTC. I find it fascinating to hear about others’ experiences in this respect but my decisions and actions are my own and not based on what others do. Thank you again.
I remember the first time Bitcoin clicked in my mind after watching an 1 1/2 hour podcast with Michael Saylor. Couldn’t sleep that night, was looking at my savings account loaded with fiat and felt an urgent need to convert a giant chunk into Bitcoin to stop the bleeding. I did just that and am forever grateful. Thank you Matthew.
Me three weeks ago. Had at least a head start in robinhood where I got some as a hedge until I understood it before the big run up. Just need to enable moving coins. I have since added double. will be building a position further.
I also have been buying since 2019 - still bought at the 50-60K peak thinking it would continue up, then bought more at 20K and below. Haven't sold a single sat.
Thank you Matthew for another great video! I sold a commercial building that I owned in 2018. It was about half of my net wealth at the time. In April of 2019 I used all of that money and turned it into bitcoin. Since then it has been hard for me not to sell everything else I own and buy more bitcoin. I have been dollar cost averaging every week since June of 2019. I live a simple life and can save 30% of every pay check and buy more bitcoin. The only time I ever sold bitcoin was in March of 2022. I broke my leg in March of 2022 play hockey. I sold all the bitcoin that I purchased (dca) at a higher price($47,000) to avoid paying capital gains. i wanted to have a little money for rent and bills. It turned out that I did not need the money and watched the price drop to $20,000 later that year. Then I was able to buy back the bitcoin I sold and was back to work in August 2022. I have continued to dca every week since then. Thank you again for all your videos.
What about the MA20/EMA20 on the 6 month chart? If you look at other markets it doesn't take long for price to go down and hit it. That is what I expect. It happened on the 3 month chart last cycle. Also, people forget that the Covid Crash was also the ETF crash. I can't see BTC being an exception and not hitting at least the EMA20 on 6M chart, especially as price was rejected at very close to SD1.5 when on the previous attempt up it passed SD1.6, which shows a declining pattern, a double top the the same way that the bull market had a double top that was a declining pattern despite having a higher 2nd peak. Everyone has their own strategy, some sell, some short and some DCA. Do what you need to do, but just use caution I'd say. It is very possible to hit the previous bottom or much lower, especially when looking at a long-term volume profile. Best of luck.
Curiosity leads to knowledge, knowledge leads to conviction and conviction increases your position size. Your journey is the same as mine Matt. Sold everything I had and could and I’m strictly 100% bitty.
Thanks you Justine Trudeau. The day the cbc goverment media complain that the government couldn't confiscate Bitcoin..Is the day I started my Bitcoin journey..
Understanding bitcoin is accelerated by the manner in which it enables us to understand the system we have been living through. I wonder how many of us have spent way more time diving into it than we would have imagined on first coming across it. It's taken up most of my spare time even when doing other things; I skate while listening to bitcoin podcasts, I work while listening to bitcoin podcasts, my reading is all in economics and I think about bitcoin all the time. Obviously I check this brilliant channel every day too. Thanks Matt.
Me too. It's so fascinating and of such immense consequence on all levels that it has certainly diverted much if not most of my energy. Thankfully positively. I feel better about the future now. But unfortunately that is quite tenuous, as the world we live in is quite tenuous, and I don't have a lot of life rafts to cling to compared to many others. But at least I finally now have one, one that strikes me as real and not nonsense spoon-fed the underclasses to keep them quite and compliant, however modest that one hope(and my depraved bag of shipcoins I bought before I knew better). And one I hope to grow in time to a level that matters.

Love this Matt. You have built the best and biggest collection of bitcoin education videos in history. Thank you for this and thank you for helping me to truly understand bitcoin.
I think that was very well put. I have told people that bitcoin, and they treat it like a stock, and they don’t last through the flood or the ups and downs to really understand that it’s an asset throughout time throughout Fudd takes a certain intellect or understanding.
Traded in and out of bitcoin when I first got in. Had a whole coin! My understanding is much better now. Unfortunately I’ve also fell back down the Bitcoin stairs. Starting from the bottom and stackin sats.
Super, listening to you is like having a conversation to reach to some point of view. Yesterday I came to the thought to keep some Fiat that I am willing to loos ...wow. But as you said once ...if BTC go down I will go down with it and that is the only thing left for me too, but not because you said it, is because I just made 3 years in this space and it comes to my own conclusion. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and knowledge.
I'm 100% into Bitcoin, I think the issue w normal ppl is that they don't see an issue w fiat, they trust the gov issued noted too much to look into the real details like inflation..etc
Like you I've sold the majority of my stocks and other assets for bitcoin, the wife and I even went down to one car. Sold my 2017 mustang GT for more Bitcoin.
I don't see the rationale of selling stocks for bitcoin. Businesses aren't fiat - they are simply valued in fiat (same as bitcoin). I do see the rationale of bitcoin over surplus savings in cash or even bonds.
@@knpstrr I disagree. Everything is valued in bitcoin once you’ve been 🍊 💊. There’s nothing wrong with investing in stocks, problem is most people don’t know what they’re doing. Bitcoin has a record of beating every company’s returns over time. To each their own friend
@@retrobeaver167 Even if stocks and real estate is valued in bitcoin it doesn't matter for those investments. If bitcoin is the standard, business and real estate can still accept it, and a business can hold their reserves in bitcoin. It is bitcoin or fiat, not bitcoin or stocks, real estate etc.
Thanks a ton, Matt! As always, great vid!!! And yes, I agree a 100% about asking anyone else about what to do with your networth....shows how people yearn for leadership. Watching your channel for years now my conviction of the apex predator of money, BTC is built on concrete!
When you have done enough work and are ready, you dont need to care about what other people think. Great story. This also applies to diets, what to eat.
Well put, Matthew. The thoughts you share in this episode really put things into perspective and superbly illustrate the importance of _doing one's own research_ in order to have and maintain confidence in the decisions each of us can only make for ourselves. My confidence and conviction cannot simply be transferred to and adopted by someone else and this episode really brings that concept into focus. _Keep up the great work, Matthew, and know that your viewers whose heart and motivation is in the right place greatly appreciate you!_
Great answer. I recommend people consider valuing their overall net worth in bitcoin. Keep a chart that calculates your wealth in bitcoin terms every month. Measure month to month changes across the years to see your bitcoin wealth decreasing (even while fiat wealth increases) from not holding more of your wealth in bitcoin.
I put quite a bit into it all the way down to 16k and I stopped and saved. Moved in with my family only because I love them and enjoy their company some people aren't so lucky so I understand why some people can't own Bitcoin I'm just working hard full time construction to hopefully be able to keep my BTC for my son's future so he doesn't have to struggle like I do
I’m too much of a capitalist to have all of my eggs in one basket. But I don’t believe I’ve ever heard an episode that didn’t resonate with me on your channel Matt. This one in particular. The most difficult thing for me to move 70% of assets into BTC was my wife. It’s taken 2 years and absolute resolve to wait her out! I had faith that eventually I would win the war! Woman are insanely stubborn when it comes to money. But, documenting my journey & having morning coffee conversations with her paid off. Now she is as passionate about BTC as I am. Maybe more because she keeps asking me “what’s all this XPP doing here?” In any case, it’s clear that Bitcoin will be the world’s stable cryptocurrency. And it will remain the most valued digital asset I own. But I don’t ignore other opportunities either and that’s just my personal perspective. I also respect Matt’s!
I love the example of the bank in Cyprus. People get screwed over and over again and seen to refuse to at least listen to an interview about what Bitcoin is and why we need it. I tell people to at least buy some even if it's just a little bit. But unless I'm asked i don't really engage. People think I'm annoying and I'm at the point where"if you don't get it i don't have time to convince you" stage
I love all your videos, Matthew, but this one really hit home. To a newbie (and to current family members), it sounds absolutely ridiculous to put 100% of your assets into Bitcoin (or anything) as diversification is pounded into our brains since birth. And I would have agreed with that before I really spent the hours researching Bitcoin. At a certain point, we all have to ask ourselves "As opposed to what"? What else can possibly match the superior monetary properties of Bitcoin over time, especially in REAL terms? Not cash, not stocks, not bonds, not real estate... nothing can possibly compare. Once I realized that, I was all-in. *Ultimately, I've come to understand that the price of Bitcoin grows at the speed of education.* Your videos help that process along. Thank you for all you do, Matthew.
I used to be much more heavily invested in BTC. I haven't sold anything, but I've been accumulating cash on the sidelines due to a variety of circumstances and concerns about the economy. All that to say, I am much more concerned with the fiat than I am the BTC, and I'm extremely tempted to convert it all into BTC, but I'm trying to stay rational.
I do like how you phrase it to "You should be worried about how much fiat you hold, not how much BTC you hold", which changes the mindset. BTC is the most successful and wealth generating history by any measure and statistic, while fiat does nothing but lose value by those same measurements.
Funny, we both took the same path down the rabbit hole. First I put 10.000€ in Bitcoin. Ten I opened a Bitcoin saving plan. Then I put 80% of my stocks into crypto. 2 years later I changed all other cryptos into Bitcoin. After that I sold one rental Flat and bought 50% Bitcoin and left the rest to buy more Bitcoin over the savings plan. In the End I sold our 2nd car and put the money into bitcoin. And in March, when my 2nd retal flat is paid off, I will sell and put it into Bitcoin as well. And all of the time I figure out more and more ways to do my day to day spendings through bitcoin.
I went from planning to HODL 1%, to 5%, to 10%, 20%, 50%, and then 80% of my portfolio in BTC right now, with my mind changing as I learned more about BTC thanks to your videos and watching/listening to other people. Perhaps I'll go 100% once I reach 80%, but it's going to take a while to DCA my index funds into BTC. We'll see how it goes in 10 years or more 🤞 EDIT: After watching at least 500 Bitcoin University videos (and some other videos from other channels) I am now finally 100% Bitcoin, let's gooooooooooo
People think holding BTC is risky.. holding too much CASH makes me anxious. People are way too comfortable holding large amounts of cash in banks. They don't understand that that money can be bailed in/frozen whenever.
same with Bitcoin... transaction fees and/or too many utxo's and network congestion will force you to hold lol not to mention fiat on/off ramps can simply be turned off.
I also put everything into BTC and so thankful to Matt and his informative videos and course helping educate me on what my friends call ‘risky investments’ I can just see them hanging in there waiting to say ‘I told you so…’ It always brings a smile to my face when people say ‘that’s very risky you should diversify’ and then I ask them a few questions about BTC and it’s obvious they haven’t done an iota of research and no nothing of BTC - so typical!! Let’s see who has the last laugh shall we??? 😊
I can absolutely relate to this. It is like they are afraid to research it because it would show how wrong they have been all this time. Also, everyone are just so busy surviving on fiat that they are looking for a quick way out...
I have read the white paper and much of the BTC tech. I understand it to the best of my ability and am exposed to the asset for this reason, but not 100%, yet. What do the sovereign wealth funds know that I don’t? Why aren’t they 100% invested and the price isn’t already north of $1m?
@@shaggydogjit could be that they do know and are quietly stacking. It could be that they weren't not at that tipping point yet so no need to buy. It could be their lack of understanding. Everyone gets Bitcoin at the price they deserve.
Hey Matt, Love listening to your videos, it seems like hearing my thoughts out through your videos we both have the same way of thinking regards Bitcoin. Finally a channel that brings that kind of knowledge to light in a nice calm way.
Hi Mathew, I hope you are well. You mentioned the 'cycle' a couple of times in this video, I'd love to hear your thoughts on this current cycle and, if in your view, it differs from previous cycles, and if so, how? Thanks!
Good enough for billionaire Michael Saylor. Good enough for me. Proposed topic. You did a couple of videos on Bitcoin loans, but I had some unanswered questions in the comments that I wondered if you could do a video about it. Do I have this summary correct? I put my Bitcoin in the BTC bank Borrow up to 40% Say I borrow it up to one year to live off of, what do I use to pay it back? A second loan? And you said one idea of servicing the load is buying a rental home with the money and using the spread, which defeats the purpose of borrowing the money if I just want to live off of it. Can you make corrections? Thanks
Thanks
Yes, I think there will always be speculators at every price level. Above $1 million I think it will be mostly nation-states and central banks accumulating BTC as quickly as they can. That's the ultimate end game.
the thing is that you don't need 1T of actual usd to increase market cap by 1T, the scarcity of openly available btc should do wonders. props to those who hold. if Blackrock tries suppressing price, they could see biggest short squeeze ever eventually. the trick is to teach people to self custody and avoid paper bitcoin
Less than 1% chance of BTC failing at this point. I think only a globally coordinated extreme ban could really stop it now, but that would require all countries on earth to cooperate and be willing to jail many of their own citizens. Almost certainly not going to happen. Bitcoin is simply too big and distributed to fail now.
I do miss the knowledge you shared on markets outside of Bitcoin. I follow a lot of Bitcoin only content but your insights on markets were part of the catalyst that led me to being a maxi.
Two interesting adjacent topics for future: For those with money in an IRA - withdraw or buy a proxy such as MSTR/ GBTC? And opinion on direct deposit in BTC such as square
Gbtc and mstr carry their own separate risks outside the protocol. I personally still make out my Roth into a total stock index since I don't do an employer sponsored 401k/403b. Nothing wrong with a little diversification
Matt, proposal for video: perhaps discuss the capital gains tax situation with scenarios. For example, I DCA some btc everyday and then 3 years later I sell a little bit. How do I calculate the capital gains? Is it on the btc I bought 3 years ago or the btc I may have purchased just in the past few days. Obviously the difference in capital gains would be massive.
Well put. At least in the US, going 100% is trading short term volatility for long term security and confidence. So it's certainly a bad idea to hold less fiat than you will spend on living and general expenses in a month. Beyond that though, "Invest only as much money in fiat as you are willing to lose." Hell of a statement, I'm gonna be using that one.
I appreciate your approach to teaching.. To my understanding this just proves how much we need an edge as investors because playing the market like everyone else just isn't good enough, we just need to hold onto our hopes and wait to see how things turn out because market movements are almost always unpredictable. In my portfolio, l'm noticing more red than green.
I'm surprised you know her too. I've been making a lot of profit learning and investing with her for a few months now.I started with 1,500 usd 5 months ago but I have more than 60,000 usd now in my portfolio
The more I learn through your channel and others the more I allocate BTC, however I still have some fears related to what a desperate government (coordinated by G20, WEF...) can do in case of "emergency" : declare exchange of crypto assets illegal, create retroactive laws to tax you into oblivion, put crypto hodlers in jail if they refuse/can't give up their seeds. Non KYC bitcoin still may be traced by chain transactions analytics firms. If you used a coin join on your KYC bitcoin, welcome to jail. You're a bitcoin developer, then you're a criminal. You have downloaded a bitcoin software, go to jail too. Cold wallet manufacturers being forced to shut down while government seizing their clients names, addresses... If you have inputs on those concerns I'll be happy to hear.
Recently I have been asking myself indeed this question: how much, or how little, to keep in fiat and other things. I will keep some gold and silver though next to Bitcoin.
Matthew, thank you for the free education on Bitcoin. I have a question for you that I couldn’t find an answer in your previous videos. The last words of Satoshi were that there’s still a lot of work to be done on the network to reach its full potential. Ever since then, some of the most notable developments have been the LN, taproot, ark, CJs, fedi, where the number of users have stayed roughly the same (around 0). How has the network developed over the past 5 years? Has it reached its full potential?
I allocated 1% of my LNW to BTC in 2016. It is now 20% without having stacked any more since 2016 - or sold any. If you hold for the long-term and BTC continues to compound against USD at its historic rates, it's share of your net worth will mushroom on its own. Yes, your balance sheet volatility (at least as measured in USD) will also increase dramatically. You just have to deal with it. Yes, I am still anchored in seeing things in USD terms. I have moer work to do.
I'd look at BTC much like investing in gold. 5-10% of your portfolio max should be in precious metals, so I wouldn't be too keen on putting more than 10% of my portfolio value into BTC.
Could you do a review of the Tangem wallet? Would you recommend it? I am at the point of starting to get into BTC in a major way, and would appreciate your cold wallet thoughts at this point after the Ledger and Trezor news of the past year...
I would avoid altcoin wallets like Tangem and stick to Bitcoin only wallets like the Coldcard or Blockstream Jade. Altcoin wallets have wider attack surfaces since they must provide support for so many shipcoins
Also, is it possible to spread one's private keys among different cold wallets? For example, can I save my private keys simultaneously on both a Blockstream Jade and a Coldcard, and also move and spend my BTC from either of these cold wallets?
I diversified into BTC. Since no one knows the future and we can't eliminate corruption at the highest level. I have a fair share in BTC, silver and liquid cash. If all of the 3 fail were all doomed.
Some wallets allow you to buy within the wallet via an exchange like Trezor. I know Matt doesn't like Trezor as much now, he likes the Blockstream Jade and Coldcard.
@@QDogg I guess Trezor would be ok. It’s also recommended by Guy of Coin Bureau. I’ll have to buy one because I don’t trust centralized exchanges and because of this issue I don’t buy Bitcoin. How about buying in eToro which is around since 2007 and seems like a very trusted platform?
This is beyond the scope of the video and maybe was answered before, but anyway why don't you accept bitcoin as payment method for your private courses?
Matt can you please do a video on using “leveraged” Bitcoin plays (ie. MSTR, Bitcoin Miners, or options on them) as a strategy to ultimately end up with more Bitcoin. Obviously there’s additional risk but I think there’s a rationale argument for why they can outperform the underlying asset, BTC. Actual BTC will always be the base of my portfolio but wondering if there’s a place for this with type of strategy with say 10% of your capital? Thanks for your content!
my job will match 4% of my income should i put 4%of each paycheck in to get the match even if i withdrawal early the max i would likely pay is 40% perhaps i could use it as a down payment on a homestead in a few years i would rather spend my 401k than some sats if i can avoid it
Most companies cannot raise prices fast enough in a high inflation environment for their dividend yield and total return to keep pace with inflation and preserve purchasing power. If true inflation is 8-20%, will your dividend stocks preserve your purchasing power? Not saying that I know the answer, but I doubt it
*once you understand Bitcoin then you must master your craft and remain solvent to survive the volatility. Metaphorically speaking bitcoin is a voyage to a brave new world.
Hey Mathew, recentky purchased your Bitcoin book of amazon, haven't read it yet. Quick question, is everything in the book covered on this channel? If so my attention span suits videos rather than books while at work. 👍
Ive been a full time student of btc since November 21 and this video is as true as the Bible. You can discern my meaning either way depending on your ideas on the book. The only bad thing about btc is its difficulty for people to grasp. It takes hours and hours for basic levels of understanding to be realized. Im not there yet but im inspired by Matt, whom i consider an intellectual and who's divulged his level of confidence here. Once my mastery of this perfect money is achieved, the liquidations will occur.
MK, I DCA to cold storage like any good pleb. I would also like to move funds in my Roth to bitcoin, is MSTR is good move for the next 5 to 10? I'm not so hot on GBTC is you know what I mean.

Thanks
You had a twitter account masquerading as you. Contacted me and tried to scam me. I had his account suspended for spam.

Americans have had a few options that we have ignored for decades. I'm not talking about the 2A either. We've been in a slow motion decline for 50 years plus, and have collectively chosen television programming and new cars instead of taking control of the bought and sold govt. I hate it, but, we're reaping what we've sown. Good leadership, tough leadership could straighten us out, block the WEF and restore our ability to sustain ourselves. We'll have to see. This is a global battle, we should be at the forefront of, not debating genders and engaging polarized political battles. Take care Venezuela.

@@MrRem7600 That's an interesting perspective. Fiat...fiat, fiat fiat. Much better for value to be stabilized. Seeing how some of the players have worked the fiat system "successfully", and benefited from inflation, has had me pondering what 100 million dollars at my disposal might be.

@@Cheyemos I agree. Thank you for sayint this.
I think your timeline is a bit off… I remember looking to buy BTC for the first time in May 2017 and it was right around $2k (I remember this very well because I never ended up buying any and kick myself to this day)….
At $350 it would have been a few years earlier.
Best of luck to you, and all of us too!
I like that framing of saver vs investor
And now I know I can do more, as long as I keep saving.

owning bitcoin without understanding bitcoin is a recipe for disaster - - so true

Moved in with my family only because I love them and enjoy their company some people aren't so lucky so I understand why some people can't own Bitcoin I'm just working hard full time construction to hopefully be able to keep my BTC for my son's future so he doesn't have to struggle like I do
Awesome! Keep pushing daily for you and your sons future!
Maybe more because she keeps asking me “what’s all this XPP doing here?”
In any case, it’s clear that Bitcoin will be the world’s stable cryptocurrency.
I feel the same way. I’ll drop hints here and there but as Saylor says, everyone will get bitcoin at the price they deserve
I agreed, I am being called annoying .had bitcoin 10 years. Pushed bitcoin greater family , strangers etc. I am going to stop. I am in my sixties
*Ultimately, I've come to understand that the price of Bitcoin grows at the speed of education.*
Your videos help that process along. Thank you for all you do, Matthew.
Revisiting this today. I am now 100%. Thank you Matthew.
Same. I still think you need 2-6 months of expenses in fiat.
We'll see how it goes in 10 years or more 🤞
EDIT: After watching at least 500 Bitcoin University videos (and some other videos from other channels) I am now finally 100% Bitcoin, let's gooooooooooo

People think holding BTC is risky.. holding too much CASH makes me anxious. People are way too comfortable holding large amounts of cash in banks. They don't understand that that money can be bailed in/frozen whenever.
same with Bitcoin... transaction fees and/or too many utxo's and network congestion will force you to hold lol
not to mention fiat on/off ramps can simply be turned off.
I also put everything into BTC and so thankful to Matt and his informative videos and course helping educate me on what my friends call ‘risky investments’
I can just see them hanging in there waiting to say ‘I told you so…’ It always brings a smile to my face when people say ‘that’s very risky you should diversify’ and then I ask them a few questions about BTC and it’s obvious they haven’t done an iota of research and no nothing of BTC - so typical!! Let’s see who has the last laugh shall we??? 😊
I just don't understand people who are so secure in their convictions but haven't done more than 5 minutes of research on BTC. So depressing
Most of those people don't even know the rudimentary knowledge such as the supply cap, the issuance mechanism. It's disturbing

Good enough for billionaire Michael Saylor. Good enough for me. Proposed topic. You did a couple of videos on Bitcoin loans, but I had some unanswered questions in the comments that I wondered if you could do a video about it.
Do I have this summary correct?
I put my Bitcoin in the BTC bank
Borrow up to 40%
Say I borrow it up to one year to live off of, what do I use to pay it back? A second loan?
And you said one idea of servicing the load is buying a rental home with the money and using the spread, which defeats the purpose of borrowing the money if I just want to live off of it. Can you make corrections? Thanks
If your have money tied up in a personal IRA would you recommend buying stock of MSTR as exposure to BTC.

@@Bitcoin_University Thank you
What percent chance do you put towards bitcoin failing and what do you think the reason for failure could be?
Less than 1% chance of BTC failing at this point. I think only a globally coordinated extreme ban could really stop it now, but that would require all countries on earth to cooperate and be willing to jail many of their own citizens. Almost certainly not going to happen. Bitcoin is simply too big and distributed to fail now.

At least in the US, going 100% is trading short term volatility for long term security and confidence.
This is what makes me nit invest 100% too. The wef is evil
Recently I have been asking myself indeed this question: how much, or how little, to keep in fiat and other things. I will keep some gold and silver though next to Bitcoin.
Matt you're channel is a big reason I sold my alts and stocks for BTC only
Matthew, thank you for the free education on Bitcoin.
Asking other people is part of the research Mozart!
Mozart was toxic

Thanks!
😂
I’m scared of exchanges. If I buy a cold wallet, is it possible to buy within the wallet directly? Can you plz advise?
Some wallets allow you to buy within the wallet via an exchange like Trezor. I know Matt doesn't like Trezor as much now, he likes the Blockstream Jade and Coldcard.
@@QDogg I guess Trezor would be ok. It’s also recommended by Guy of Coin Bureau. I’ll have to buy one because I don’t trust centralized exchanges and because of this issue I don’t buy Bitcoin. How about buying in eToro which is around since 2007 and seems like a very trusted platform?
Perfectly put!
How about a video about specific assets ie btc , gold, stocks compared to m2 money supply.
First! :) thanks Matthew for the excellent content as always, I’m now a committed folllwer
I am up to 97%. 3% goes into my company matching 401K.
Thank you Matthew, your content is very helpful to Bitcoiners and those who wanted to learn more about the technology. Keep up the good work.
Hi Matt, here's a topic idea for a video - the book Softwar by Jason P. Lowery and why it's getting banned.
Lowery is an incredible thinker. I know of the book but haven’t read it. Where is it getting banned from? This is news to me
Thank you for all the work, time and efforts you put in those videos. Great content!
I appreciate that!
Very good video again, at least to me. And please keep following your own path, not my path. But you already do. Bravo!
my job will match 4% of my income should i put 4%of each paycheck in to get the match even if i withdrawal early the max i would likely pay is 40% perhaps i could use it as a down payment on a homestead in a few years i would rather spend my 401k than some sats if i can avoid it
My biggest conundrum. I love dividend stocks but I also love Bitcoin.
Hey Matt, what do your VC friends thinks about btc ?
Hey Mathew, recentky purchased your Bitcoin book of amazon, haven't read it yet. Quick question, is everything in the book covered on this channel? If so my attention span suits videos rather than books while at work. 👍
The book is OK, but my understanding of BTC has advanced a lot since then. I need to write a new book about BTC
Thanks for the information. Always good to get your perspective on Bitcoin.
Great video! Thanks Matt!
MK, I DCA to cold storage like any good pleb. I would also like to move funds in my Roth to bitcoin, is MSTR is good move for the next 5 to 10? I'm not so hot on GBTC is you know what I mean.
Reminder that in 2015 Greece set 60€ cash withdraw limit per day.
