Wood Turning - Big & Beautiful Yew

In this wood turning project I take a huge piece of English Yew and turn a big and beautiful end grain bowl. This was both heavy and just about at the limitations of my lathe! There were many bark inclusions and some old branch junctions. The final result, in my opinion, is beautiful. The grain, patterns and features are amazing, no matter which angle you view from. This is a gift back to the donor of some Yew logs after they had to have an old tree taken down. I hope they are as pleased with it as I am!

Thanks Jim, I’ve also been given a whole huge very old Yew tree for firewood !! As one of my interests is Woodturning I’ve saved all of it for future projects. Your bowl turned out great. Thanks again for taking the time to produce content. 👍
