- Nephrite is a variety of calcium and magnesium rich amphibole mineral it is a beautiful green mineral that lends itself well to processing and is ideal for taking on your physical, mental or spiritual journey, it can white, black, yellow, green and brown to black depending on the amount of iron and magnesium in the mineral.

I joined a lapidary club and brought an identical mineral to class. Most people were reluctant to class it that but a slab polished up as beautifully as any jade I've ever seen. Now I'm thrilled and will be saving this as proof of my lucky find.

Nephrite is a variety of the calcium, magnesium, and iron-rich amphibole minerals tremolite or actinolite. The chemical formula for nephrite is Ca₂(Mg, Fe)₅Si₈O₂₂(OH)₂. It is one of two different mineral species called jade.
