My thoughts, this is the greatest action movie ever. I just wish that we had gotten more movies pairing Willis and Jackson. Their on-screen chemistry is amazing. They work off each other so well.
The number one thing everyone always asks after watching this movie: There are two solutions to the jug problem. The first solution: Fill the 5, pour into the 3, leaving two behind in the 5. Dump the 3 out, put the two from the 5 into the 3, then fill the 5 again. Pour water from the filled 5 into the 3, which will take one out of the 5, leaving four behind in the 5. The second solution: Fill the 3, put it in the 5. Fill the 3 again, put it in 5, leaving one behind in the 3. Dump the 5, transfer the one from the 3 in the 5, then fill the 3 again and add to the 5 as well for a total of four. The movie was originally written as a spec script with original characters. The writer, Jonathan Hensleigh, said a good third of the movie, up until the Gruber revelation, is exactly as he wrote it with the only exception being the character names. Joel Silver really wanted to buy it and turn it into a Lethal Weapon movie, but Fox won the bidding war and it became Die Hard With a Vengeance instead. (I believe it is rumored that Speed was written as a Die Hard sequel at one point as well.) The film also initially had a much darker ending. After the boat blows up, Simon gets away with the money, smuggling it out of the country as Statue of Liberty souvenir keychains. Months later, McClane hunts him down in a small bar in a foreign country, telling him he was fired from the police department for failing to catch him, and that his life has fallen apart completely. He has a small rocket launcher with him with the directional arrows removed, and he places it on the table, and they play "Simon Says" with the challenge being to decide which direction to point it and then set it off. Naturally, Simon loses the game and McClane says his famous catchphrase. Audiences didn't like it, because they didn't want John to lose everything, so they reshot the whole finale with the Canadian asprin bottle.
Apparently, the heist scene was "real" enough that the FBI questioned the writer about how he knew so much about the Federal Reserve layout, the proximity to a subway spur, etc. And..um...they tightened up security to make sure something like it couldn't happen.🚚
"I can make it..." Sam Jackson's character arc as Zeus is fantastic. From not wanting to get involved to ready to jump off a bridge 😅 I think having a civilian sidekick really elevates DH3, and it also works well in 4 (Live Free or Die Hard). 4 is July 4th themed, so hopefully you can work it into your schedule.
You absolutely have to watch Die Hard 4. It has Justin Long, Maggie Q, Timothy Olyphant and Cliff Curtis. This one is my favorite. I think it is better than the second one.
I'm amazed that so many reactors don't know the elephant joke. Everybody knew it when I was a kid, a very long time ago. An elephant always has their trunks, so they're always ready to travel.
In german its maybe a lil Bit clearer, it goes: Was hat 4 Beine und liebt Porzellan? In Germany we have a saying or a term for a clumsy person who behaves like an "elephant in a china shop" means "ein Elefant im porzellanladen"
Kaielle, Whassup homie!? “Not even God knows what you’re doin’ McClaine!!” Glad you kept this series going. Also, thank you for deciding to watch the whole series for your own satisfaction, which is how all the other reactors should do. I understand the first Die Hard is a classic. I think this one is arguably the best Die Hard. However, the next one (Live Free or Die Hard) is my favorite.
The silent blonde woman is Sam Phillips, a very talented singer/musician. She's most famous for the music of the Gilmore Girls. She may be a good check-out on your favorite music platform.
Thanks for pointing that out. I’m a big Sam Phillips fan. I also enjoy her earlier work, recorded under the name “Leslie Phillips.” (“Samantha” is her middle name.)
Love the chemistry between Samuel and Bruce in this one. They really made this thing. Especially after Pulp Fiction:) Jeremy Irons is great also as the bother of Hans who also acknowledges that he’s an asshole. Love that for him:) But having Bruce and Sam having to solve riddles throughout NYC is priceless:)
Hey Kaiielle, Thank you for liking my comment ❤ I sort of messed up I meant to say I love Samuel Jackson's line Hey zeus😂😂😂 I hope you watch more of his movies .
Great reaction. You have a habit of reacting to movies i love, which obviously i'm delighted about. In my ever-changing favourite movie rankings, this is currently number 30.
I love this movie. The pacing is phenomenal and almost never lets up. New York City gets turned into one massive chaotic playground as McClane tears ass across the city to stop Simon. My only issue with the movie is the finale at North Of The Border because it feels a little disjointed from the rest of the movie since they changed the ending in reshoots. But otherwise, the movie is a great thrill ride that puts a much bigger spin on the Die Hard formula.
If you thought the Simon Says part was childish, you should see Dirty Harry. Bruce Willis does a different kind of character in The Jackal. Also, I highly recommend The Last Boy Scout.
The original will always be my favourite, since I was 15 when it came out and the kind of nostalgia is hard to beat, but this one is right there alongside it. The chemistry between Bruce and Sam is a thing of beauty and they stepped up the pacing just enough to keep you pretty much constantly on edge. Also, if I may be so bold, the bangs are very adorable. 😁😍
Yes! First off, welcome back. New hair. Okay I see you! 😆❤ I saw some people saying stuff but if anything breaks help your reactions. There's tons of movies I hated then watched later in a better state and loved. I appreciate the reaction. It wasn't that long ago I couldn't find anyone that saw this. I remember being in the theater, seeing the opening explosion like okay let's go. 🍿
🚚(best I could find.) So, you bought it... Hook, line, and sinker? :) I'm glad you're going to watch, at least, the next one. I find that I watch the 4th (the next one) the most often. The first, of course, is still the best. It's iconic. But, I've seen it a bunch already. This movie, with Samuel Jackson, is my 3rd favorite. 1, 4, 3. And, tied for last place for me: 2 and 5. (But, #5 isn't bad by any means. It's just a little different. You'll see when you get there. And, I'm going to be watching along with you! Thank you.) I agree: Jerry is legendary, indeed! Jerry, the beautician. Well... the truck driver. Thank you, as always, for the watch. I'm looking forward to whatever is next!
Also speaking of movies back in theaters The Sony Spider-Man movies are coming back to theaters again too. Starting April 15th in release order with Toby Maguire Spider-Man every week a new one is going to be shown for that one Monday. Please go watch them if you're able to fit them in your schedule.
The Alien franchise (except the hard low Alien 4 Resurrection) is actually worth watching and I would love to see more reactions to it. Every commentsection hates on them and reactors just shrug the other movies off but they are still highly entertaining and have their place. Alien 3, Prometheus and Covenant are amazing.
Another fun fact kaiielle the youngest actor who played zeus youngest nephew ended up being in the last die hard movie . He also was in the psychological thriller " The invisible Man"
"I wish I could go back and visit New York in the 90s." I live that regret every day. My parents were born and raised across the river, and I was born there in 89, but at three months old my parents decided to move 300 miles away. I love the city I grew up in, but it's not NYC.
I love that this movie is an ensemble performance. Everyone chips in and has personality. John couldn't have done it without all of them, and the chemistry is great. I would also recommend watching Die Hard 4. It's a solid sequel and worth watching.
Fun fact kaiielle , the actor who played the cop Ricky who played his badge number when you play the lotto was also in die hard 1 . If you go back and watch part 1 who played the cop who is assisting Sergeant Al
I'm very late commenting this but for the 25th anniversary The Matrix is back in theaters Wednesday and Thursday. Check if your nearest Regal theater is showing it.
So the plan they had to rob the vault was actually so accurate and plausable the director was questioned by the FBI on how he knew it so well. lol They ended up tightening security after this film came out.
I love how you said 'rest in pieces ' at the end, it's one of my favourite phrases. A Samuel L Jackson film you might want to check out, which i also love, is The Negotiator (1998).
🚛 You should've been a detective Kaielle 🕵️♀️ You pick up on the smallest clues. Like the asprin bottle, for example. You didn't know exactly what it meant, but you had a feeling it'd be a clue. I'm pretty sure when I saw that part the first time I was like, "Haha, he actually had asprin on him" and just laughed it off. Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed it. This my favorite movie in the Die Hard series because it was not only funny and action-packed but also had a buddy cop vibe to it. I'm pretty sure I also thought the bomb in the school was real the first time I saw it. I hope you'll watch the next Die Hard movie. I really like that one too. Also, fun fact. Before this script became a Die Hard movie. It was a movie called, Simon Says 😁
Glad your back. This was a good movie saw it in the theater for a pre screening I was 14 thought it was good still do glad you enjoyed and picked up on most of the clues. Hope your doing well
There's a dumptruck emoji? Anyway, what I really like about this film is that it ditched the trope from the first two movies (and 80's action films in general) of the authorities being useless beyond the lone wolf hero. Not only does he get a partner in Zeus, but the rest of the department, and even Jerry the truck driver, are shown to be heroic and effective as well. It's a refreshing change of pace from most everyone else just existing to be another impediment for the hero to overcome.
I've no idea how they solved the jug puzzle lol. The method I always used was: -Fill 3L jug -Put 3L into 5L jug -Fill 3L jug again -Put 2L from the 3L into the 5L, leaving 1L in the 3L -Empty 5L jug -Put the 1L into the 5L jug -Fill the 3L jug -Put the 3L into the 5L jug -🎉SUCCESS🎉 Thats how my brain did it anyway lol
Fill 5L jug, pour into the 3L jug, 2L remaining in the big jug. Empty small jug, pour the 2L into it. Fill the 5L jug and pour into the 3L (with room for only one litre). You end up with 4L in the big jug.

You're a grown up so you can do what you like but I would stay away from it And for my money the first four Alien films are all great in different ways - 3 admittedly the least, but they're all worthwhile
Fun fact: the evil crazy woman is Sam Phillips… she did the “la la” music in the Gilmore Girls. She’s a pretty great musician. Check out Omnipop and Martinis and Bikinis if you’re into 90s Lilith Fair ish alternative music. The next Die Hard, Live Free or Die Hard is actually my second favorite of the franchise. If you thought the partner chemistry was amazing in this one, I think you’ll like the partner chemistry between Bruce and Justin Long in 4 also. Plus, Kevin Smith is in the next one. My order of DH movies from best to worst is 1, 4, 3, 2, and 5. I’ll be interested in hearing what your order is once you are finished with all of them. Keep making awesome content Kaiielle! 🚚
INTRO about Sam Jacksons character. Oof!! Good guess, but... you'll see, his part is much better. Saw this in the theater. Most of the classic pop culture movies, I saw in the theater, so it's fun to see how reactors feel about certain scenes for me. Thank you ❤
Still think its weird, that at least in Denmark, where i'm from, the movie is called Die Hard, Mega Hard. Why did they change the title from one english thing to another.
Great Die Hard movie, for me is the second best, the first one still a timeless master piece. We all collectively agree that the fifth one is one of the biggest cinematic offenses against humanity, just skip that one.
Part II 😁 Scanned your channel and didn't see a Monster category like; UNDERWORLD, BLADE, I FRANKENSTEIN (or any Frankenstein), etc and your Romance list was short but you have seen a lot!! ☮️
This movie is just full on nostalgia for me. One of the first ever movies I saw in the cinema, the weather in the movie was almost like every summer in the 90s where I live (which is rare), I got the Die Hard Trilogy game for the PlayStation 1 a year later and I played it so much, and I rewatched it so many times when I got it on VHS a couple of years later. Good Times. 😊 Also, love the hair. 🙂 Edit: I forgot the dump truck emoji. 🚚
Glad to see you back KL. This is a great flick with an awesome villain. Nothing quite beats the original, and thank god they went straight to number 3 instead of making a crappy number 2...
Kaiielle the reason why the female bad guy didn't speak to about the whole movie what's because she's from California and didn't speak any German so they made her a mute
When Bruce Willis is wearing the sign in the beginning of the movie. There was no writing on the board. They computer generated the writing on the board.
Hi KL; I did like this one over the others. Had a lot of great lines. ' Simon says you gotta go' was one of them. Samuel Jackson and Bruce Willis made a great team in this movie
🚚 For me the ranking is 3, 1, 2. 3 first because of the Sam Jackson/Bruce Willis combo, then 1 for the novelty of it and the great villain, then 2 which just feels like the weakest in the trilogy. I very much disliked 4. While 2 and 3 had their somewhat (to totally) illogical parts (in 2: to my knowledge there are no ejection seats in transport planes plus handgrenades would not take that long to explode and the scene with the wire hooked to the ship in 3), 4 felt so totally over the top for me. Should you watch it, you will see what I mean.
As much as I love this movie, why didn't John show Zeus the safety on the gun while showing him how to use it? and then there is the obvious demonstration in the Captains office where Charlie showed that the bombs are harmless until the two liquids are mixed so just punch a hole in one of the containers and drain it so that they cant mix 🤷🖖 Graham Greene another great Canadian actor from Ohsweken, Ontario.❤ 🇨🇦
I rank this 1st place or tied with the original. The original has been copied so many times. It's great but, the riddle aspect is different. That's something you rarely see short of Batman movies which coincidentally 1995 also had Batman Forever. Ha. 4 and 5 are okay. There is a step down but they are by no means horrible. Go for it if you just want to see John being John.
Just a reminder for the future collaborations with other reactors. Like in boxing how styles make fights good and two good boxers can make for a boring fight, it’s the same with reactors. The styles of reacting actually have to be similar or the vibe is thrown off.
Unknown fact . Central Park with owned black people and it was a small community inside of New York City . It had his own Bank Park library and police force . But just like a lot of towns that were owned by black people it was taken away from them by the government

Thank you ❤
Yippee Ki-Yay! Welcome back!
Great vid KL. Always a fun time.
I'm with you on the order of the films thus far. Hans >Simon. 🚚
Graham Greene (Det. Lambert) is a Canadian treasure.
Katya didn't speak because she couldn't. If you look closely at her throat, it's been sliced across her larynx.
Still think its weird, that at least in Denmark, where i'm from, the movie is called Die Hard, Mega Hard. Why did they change the title from one english thing to another.
Oh that's interesting LOL
Great Die Hard movie, for me is the second best, the first one still a timeless master piece.
We all collectively agree that the fifth one is one of the biggest cinematic offenses against humanity, just skip that one.
Although the one kid said it was Christmas, this one isn't a Christmas movie
It's ok. We knew SLJ was in this movie before we saw it too. That's not the secret of this movie.
If you want more Jeremy Irons, I suggest:
1. The Mission (1986) w/ Robert DeNiro.
2. Brideshead Revisited (1981) - 11-episode miniseries.
Good Times. 😊
Also, love the hair. 🙂
Edit: I forgot the dump truck emoji. 🚚
love the bangs!
Aldis Hodge is the kid playing Sam Jackson's youngest nephew.
Two movies that need to be on your radar are dances with wolves and iron will.
Welcome back.
Another top Sam Jackson movie is The Long Kiss Goodnight
Glad to see you back KL. This is a great flick with an awesome villain. Nothing quite beats the original, and thank god they went straight to number 3 instead of making a crappy number 2...
Hair looks great kaiielle ❤
Kaiielle the reason why the female bad guy didn't speak to about the whole movie what's because she's from California and didn't speak any German so they made her a mute
My first time seeing the new hair style. I like it! :)
When Bruce Willis is wearing the sign in the beginning of the movie. There was no writing on the board. They computer generated the writing on the board.
"I think he's dead my dear."
🚚 Delightful reaction..love your channel!
David Dunn and Mr. Glass meet for the first time here.
Unbreakable (2000)
John McLean teams up with Justin Long in the fourth one. It’s my fav action movie of all time.
mclains character reminds me of bruce willis first show- moonlighting character in which he plays a detective i think
how is it that i can precisely place that thumbnail expression with the moment in the movie even before watching....
Hi KL; I did like this one over the others. Had a lot of great lines. ' Simon says you gotta go' was one of them. Samuel Jackson and Bruce Willis made a great team in this movie
This movie is awesome
Great movie and awesome reaction
I recommend you watch all 5 die hard movies, I personally enjoyed all 5 of them
Great reaction my favorite 🔥🔥💯💯
I don't know which one the dumptrucck emoji, tbh.
It's all good! Thanks for watching!
🚚
For me the ranking is 3, 1, 2.
Now you might have to do Die Hard IV too
As much as I love this movie, why didn't John show Zeus the safety on the gun while showing him how to use it? and then there is the obvious demonstration in the Captains office where Charlie showed that the bombs are harmless until the two liquids are mixed so just punch a hole in one of the containers and drain it so that they cant mix 🤷🖖
Graham Greene another great Canadian actor from Ohsweken, Ontario.❤ 🇨🇦
Ohh men i love Your reaction videos hahah nice
😀😀😀😀🥰🥰🥰
If you like Bruce Willis' work, you should watch Disney's The kid (2000) :')
You can watch Die Hard 4, last good one.
I second this.
I partly agree. It’s a good film if you don’t think of it as a Die Hard film
My Die Hard ranking is 1, 3, 4, and 2. I don’t mention the 5th one. It’s so bad.
One Eight Seven
TV-14
1997
1h 59m
Drama / Thriller
I know you got a form - simply putting it here so I remember to submit it
greene also wrote some good books
Just a reminder for the future collaborations with other reactors.
Like in boxing how styles make fights good and two good boxers can make for a boring fight, it’s the same with reactors. The styles of reacting actually have to be similar or the vibe is thrown off.
That's your opinion.
Unknown fact . Central Park with owned black people and it was a small community inside of New York City . It had his own Bank Park library and police force . But just like a lot of towns that were owned by black people it was taken away from them by the government
