Just pick whatever you like and enjoy what you can play. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter if you're good or bad. Just have fun while playing. That's what matters most.

I'm planning on going hunter for WoD. I've never raided as hunter (in fact I almost always heal), but it looks like the most enjoyable DPS class. It just feels a bit faster, a bit more dynamic. It's just a pity that there's a glut of hunters, and they have a bit of a reputation...
I've played an enhancement shaman since the days of winfury. When dual spec was introduced I subbed Resto but only ever busted it out for quick and easy 10 mans with some friends, and the occasional pug. I've taken breaks from the game sometimes, but generally only for a few months a year - and through thick and thin, I've had that Tauren Shaman. He's been on about three different servers at this point, and was briefly the *other* hooved race, but I've never abandoned him. It's so ingrained into my psyche that I've honestly started to become a little bored. I have a Monk and a Priest at 90, but the Priest is only there because my friends were starting a casual guild and wanted a healer, and the Monk just sort of happened due to how quickly that class leveled. So thanks for this vid, it helped me think about what to roll.
If you ever raided on a lot of toons like he has or I have you would see why most of them are not fun... While Playing my WW monk pve.. I tend to fall asleep while I play its just no fun such an easy lay out of play style. Same with Ret paladins.. both heavy burst of dps.. but not as fun.. Warriors on the other hand though are. They have a lot of main CDs to watch for and procs so you can lay out most dps. it has a lot to do with what you want to have fun with.. I think though in WOD.. I might Play either a Paladin healing.. Or a Feral/ boomy druid. for pve...
Imho the real problem is, that classes are being too redundant. There are certain things a bunch of classes can do, and then there's another thing the other half can. But since the whole encounter got easier and easier, you don't really need certain things anymore because you could just pick an alternative class that suits your needs just as good as the other one. For example, back in BC, you enjoyed having a sp in your group who brings a lot of mana reg to the group that was needed for longer encounters. Just one example. I want the good old times back when you had to cc not only on trash but on a few boss encounters as well and playing a certain class actually made you feel important. Now I often get the feeling that I dont actually bring anything to the group. I'm just there, halfway afk, pressing a few buttons. Blizz should change this in the first place. And I bet a lot of ppl feel the same, because all you do is DPSing, while maybe 1 or 2 ppl are doing something else (like the engineer on the garrosh encounter).
mikepreachwow havent you seen the lvl 100 hunter talents? one of them is that you dont have a pet (or you cant summon a pet) but you gain 30% more damage...
I'm at a bit of a crossroads myself, Preach. When they allow the $60 90s, I'm gonna be boosting one of my non 90s per pay period and seeing which I prefer the most. I would LOVE to go in as a unholy/ frost dk, but I also want some back up plans in case they don't want a DK. So far, I'm looking at this: DPS dk Healy shaman Resto/balance druid Healy priest Holy/ret pally I, like many others, also have hunter on this list, but as of now he's a maybe. I'm iffy with hunters personally, but I will see, since I plan on boosting him first. I'd also like to thank you for this flood of content on your thoughts and ideas on the upcoming expansion! It's amazing to see such a devoted effort towards it while others simply cover the news or discuss it mildly while not really doing much about it. I salute you, sir.
Agreed. Sounds like the current front runner to me. Playstyle between the specs is varied enough that he won't get bored, which could happen with a hunter. And he can switch up and tank if need be. All of this is conjecture of course, given that we don't know the extent to which changes will be made but its still fun to talk about. Come on Blizz, need beta!
Why are people moaning that he's being picky :s he's just going through his thought process to choose a class that he thinks he'll enjoy the most in WoD of course he's going to be picky. As opposed to just choosing a class that hits hard and getting bored of it within a few months
Shaman are already one of the best if not the best healer in the game and so far when I look at the next ability and talent... They're going to be even better so I'm quite happy since I play Resto Shaman and Elem Shaman and both of them get a huge boost in WOD so far unless they change it until it come out. I got like 200k+ HEAL with a Ilvl of 540 in raid and with my other Elem Shaman ILVL 553 I got a DPS of something like 240k Single Target like on raid boss... I guess some people suck with them and some other are good I saw so many noob playing Resto Shaman and they suck so much it's making me mad.
Colton Mehlman The moving while casting was very important for PVP, but since I don't PVP not be able to move while casting is not than big of a lose. Unless they make every single boss in WOD *you need to move 100% of the time* then not be able to move while casting is going to piss me off lol.
Hey Preach. First of all, sweet ass transmogs! Second, have you considered race changing a class to troll for the haste burst for let's say... maybe an affliction warlock? Because..... you realize that Bloodlust+Dark Soul: Misery+Beserking is 80% haste..... 80% haste...... basically instant Haunts. xD. They may change that, but so far that is overpowered as hell.
Good view man. Helped me think through it a bit... I miss my feral druid days, but I feel the same. If I wanted a dot machine, I'd go affliction, but not usually what I want on a feral druid.

Yes preach, I'm a ret pally and prot sometimes. It is awesome! It allowed me to grow in my skill as well as do awesome dps while looking great and be fun.

I'm going through the same kind of indecision right now, I main and have always mained a rogue since vanilla but I hate how if I want to play a certain spec I'm immediately judged. I nearly got kicked from a pug the other day for playing sub. I think i'm going to switch over to a paladin since i have loads of fun on mine, and love how they never die. your video certainly helped me concrete this decision. thanks!
about the warlock , Blizz is removing snapshotting so every tick of a DoT is gonna calculate the damage when it ticks not when u trow the DoT on the target so u dont have to w8 wich optimals etc anymore
they fixed the micro management of dots though. you don't have to recast immolate for procs anymore. It will automatically scale when trinks, or cooldowns proc
For feral druid, it's just not that fun, honestly. Got rake up? If yes, got savage roar up? If yes, got rip up? If yes, go ham... oh wait, you were out of energy after the first seven skills you used, and even if you refresh 60 energy, that gives you about two shreds with the energy regen added. It doesn't do bad damage, but it's just not that fun, and if you manage your combo points or energy poorly once or twice, you're at the bottom of the dps charts. Even then, it's not that it's difficult. It's just unforgiving and shit honestly. It's a spec that has been left in the dust since... I don't know, TBC? Though honestly, it feels pretty much the same as it did back in vanilla.
Almost nobody played druids in vanilla, and a fraction of that were feral or Deep Feral as others put it. So no, druids now and then are no where close to each other.
hannah Stanclift Yup, but that's pretty much Rake, somehow get combo points, Rip, dance around corpses as long as they don't have a healer nearby. I'm both thankful and sad that they nerfed feral in MoP though, with the split into feral and guardian. It was fun to be able to throw a stun on people that did a bleed for around 120k damage on top of the other bleeds.

When you made this you can see you don't really have too much of a solid idea on what you want to play. so I guess my question is, how do you feel now that WoD is just about over, and the class you actually chose to follow through and head into the xpac with? Did you end up hating it or loving it, switch up mid way or stick to your guns??
I like your way of thinking on this video though some of it is looking at things more of preference and that has it's importance but utility is also an amazing thing to keep in mind a lot of the classes you pointed out have utility as well as they're fun to play.
Continuing my hunter, Started this game in vanilla as a Warrior, and kept one until the end of BC, (Had dual wielding the badge talons) Had mained tanking, but Did not enjoy the "responsibility", given that you're in charge of everyone else, aside from the guild leader who can never be wrong. WotLK, I rolled Druid, It was an amazing playstyle and I enjoyed being able to go resto to solo heal VoA, But could also get one of the top DPS as boomkin in Ulduar. Cataclysm I went back to the warrior, As protection once again. Found myself getting bored after having gotten Hagara on farm. So I went to my Hunter, who for the most part, had just been my RP toon, With a lot of gear that I had to play with. I was able to get a full tier set near right before the end. When MoP started, I had wanted to start fresh, So I started on my pally, who was incredibly fun ret, but really hard to find a group because at the time, the guild needed heals and tanks, and was overly good on melee dps (Stupid DKs) Ended up just recently coming back to my hunter, Was in a 4/14 HM Guild, that I was able to get the Death Lotus xbow (HWF) with a very lucky coin! So far, I've enjoyed my druid and hunter the most, But the hunter is going to win the future, Mostly because I enjoy kiting a lot, and strafing.. Even without my legendary cloak (which is almost done), I'm pulling top 1-2 damage, (440k~) dps, in more of a casual guild, which feels good knowing that I'm helping this guild get to where it needs to go. Hunters are renowned for being able to get secured spots in raids, as to where melee dps are short in numbers, and Druids you're more likely than not to be asked to heal, which I have also found boring because of what responsibilities come at you.
You're saying you want to be in a high tier end game content focused guild, yet your mindset seems to be more around the idea of wanting to play in a form where you can play whatever spec you choose based on how much you enjoy it. Maybe you need to re-focus what type of guild you're aiming to raid with for one thats decent, but not aiming for top 10 on a server. Just an observation.
youve also gotta remember that playing a game is something you do for enjoyment if youre not enjoying yourself, theres no point in playing no matter how far youre going
you made some good points there. playing since end of vanilla i can absolutely follow you. lost the fun in that game and made a longer brake. now i'm back and had to decide what class i'm going to play. was thinking about trying a class i didn't main so far, but that did not work in MoP and it won't in WoD. so i just have to decide either i go rogue or lock. thanks for that video :)

PvE is not exactly for noobs; to be honest, I enjoy PvE more. It's not because I'm a noob - no, I've been playing WoW since WotLK. There's a lot more content in the PvE side of World of Warcraft than PvP. And rating Arms versus Fury is completely a matter of opinion. :P Proven by months of observation on World of Warcraft forums.

Every game has such stuff. Every game has debate over it's aspects, and about the history and future, and also got gameplay, and machinima and trailers and music. Going to one of the biggest games of all that is also one of the most controversial, especially as it goes towards it's fast-approaching end, and go to one of the more boring, for most people, type of videos and then complain that's the kind of video it is? You have better things to go do as you have the entire Internet. Go watch some funny machinima, for crying out loud. It's right next door on another channel.

Mike, I believe they said that Hunters will basically have the same option as Warlocks do with Grimiore of Sacrifice. The ability to not use a pet while gaining in damage done to make up for it.
If being in a guild means that you are locked into certain characters and to move guilds means possibly getting another character to play with, there is something wrong there. You shouldn't have to change for a guild, you should be having fun with your guild. It almost seems like a job the way you put it and when it becomes a job, it's no longer a game worth playing.

If you join a raiding guild then you are expected to do what's best for the guild to progress in the raid, if your not willing to do that then don't join a raiding guild join a guild that raids

What the fuck does choose a class mean? Just like the past 3 expansions this one will have 10 minutes of new content and you'll be fully epiced out 24 seconds after hitting 100. 'Which class am I gonna level to max and get fully geared today' you mean?
I feel the same about warlock, because there is no 'comfortable' straight rotation and I just end up making a mess. The only somewhat less frustrating rotation is destro.
I find it interesting how many problems he had with classes being irrelevant in WoD. Marksman had the option for no pet, and so did Warlocks. Snapshotting was taken out for locks, so they didn't have to look for procs and recast their dots. But he was also 100% right about Arcane being the best, and nearly only spec for mage come the end of WoD. Also with the Sub rogue being the best and only spec at the end of WoD. Some things never change, and he called the out perfectly. Wonder if he reads these comments on old videos lol

Fallerup hunters are paladins are so fun. Idk about shamans never played them. All my friends that start wow :p theyre like pallies are cool, I help them with quests and tank lowbie dungeons with them
Paladin utility is also irreplaceable. Having hand spells is just too good of a toolkit for raids. hpal mastery also makes them ridiculous, without getting gimped on throughput they still have a passive shield...
When Cata came out I just randomly chose a class I had.. at the time it was level 44 and I didn't play it much. Jump forward to today and I'm still playing that very class. Sometimes it just takes a big, drastic change.
Enhancement shamman, fury warrior, disc priest, resto druid, combat rogue, fire mage,affliction warlock, marksmanship hunter are all fun specs but you would love either a enhancment shamman or marksmanship hunter!
I have a rogue, hunter, mage, druid and a dk too choose from. Although they all are quite fun too play, I agree with you. Dk is probably my go to. Love being in frost spec and throw up blood pres too solo some adds then jump into blood spec too slowly grind down a boss. Give you an amazing feeling of power when you are able too be self sustaining and still be able too work well in raids and dungeons.
I'm likely going to be playing my Hunter as my main for raiding mythic in warlords. Problem is, I'm not sure about the changes to the specs. I've also become very attached to my 2 and 4 piece set bonuses.
Also rogues are in the best spot they've ever been in right now. Combat is awesome over all, sub is the strongest single target, and assassination still pulls respectable numbers. Every single rogue spec is top tier raidable right now which lets you play whatever spec you want to play.
I really agree with you on dk despite my limited knowledge (its only lvl 83) but the class feels powerful, every festering attire makes me feel like a beast and every heart strike makes me look do damn powerful, amazing class
Guys I'm currently a level 75 ret pally and plan on picking up WoD very soon. Since it gives you a level 90 I'm gonna use my pally as an alt although my problem is that a paladin is the only class I have any experience with and how no idea how any of the other classes feel. I'm relatively new to the game and enjoy DPS, so any suggestions of what Race (preferably Horde) and class to play as? Thanks
I have a lot of experience with Shamans and let me tell you...Don't take this guys word for it. Shamans are really fun to play. You have great versatile DPS whether it's AoE or single target. They have great burst and procs. The totems look cool when you're zapping people in PvP. Thunderstorm is just fun to use in PvP because you can knock people off cliffs and kill them in Eye of the Storm. You can easily time your CDs with the Resto Shaman and Chain Heal is what makes Resto Shammys so damn OP when it comes to Raid heals. They're mana efficient, in my opinion, and Bloodlust is the best raid buff in the game. No raid can be successful without a Shaman in it. I'm biased because I've been playing a Shaman since Cata, but that's because it's my first class ever.
What's wrong with the Blood Elf racials? From what I read they seem like the only horde class getting a buff with their racials, but I might have just read that wrong.
Of all the classes I have played, warrior feels so much nicer and fits into what i want from my game. Paladins and DK's are not melee enough. All their spells and some ranged capabilities etc.. just does not feel like a proper melee (heroic throw is still melee damage). Our plate armor sets are massive beyond words, and once we get geared up we WRECK.FACE! Now, have I always loved my warrior? Nope, there were times where I seriously considered re-rolling and at times did. But I always came back to it; once you go warrior, you never go back. Oh, and Titan's Grip, DW Armageddons...YES.
i still can't decide upon this! It bugs my mind.. Warrior tank, Warlock or elemental shaman, I think i will continue my endless warrior but i dont know...
Nice roundup I find myself thinking this way all the time. It's so hard for me to stick to one thing and I really hate being pidgenholed into a certain spec when I just really really want to play a different way. I gotta get hired on the balance team just so I can keep whatever spec I want to play viable, but even then you would have to convince the masses and when they have decided something is not good it can take some big buffs before they will even consider changing their minds.
I just wanted to say your criticism of the Warlock class is something I absolutely notice playing Feral. I enjoy trying to time my rip to match up with procs so that I get ludicrous dps/2s, but at the same time procs are rng and I am willing to let a less than excellent rip and rake slide. I can definitely see why you don't like either option!
Very interesting and insightful to hear how one of the better players in the community decides this. I also have a difficult time choosing my class. I am actually leaning towards shaman or monk for the dps because I love the playstyle of always having something to press for WW or Enhance. And because of my lore'ness and thinking I am actually leaning towards the Shaman, as he is an Orc and there is something fun to me about being an Orc who is returning to his ancestor's home. Then again I have about as many 90s as Mr. Preacher and cant ever really decide on one. : \
I'm gonna start playing when the new expansion comes out. I've wanted to play since BC, but circumstances haven't allowed me. my 90 boost will be a tauren druid for gathering professions to finance other characters and to help decide what role I enjoy in a raid. I'm thinking my first from scratch character will be an undead rogue of some sort though. I've loved the undead race and I just love melee single target dps. I think being the utilitarian saves the day type of a sub rogue would be fun too. I just don't know schedule wise what I'll be able to do for a guild at the time.
Well Preach you have got me thinking a fair bit, difficult to say, I myself have been trying every class and race in the game so, personally I have no idea what to go for.

Being invited into Warlords, I was gifted recently. I ported my lvl 90 mage over and I found that they abundantly redesigned mages. Based upon the first series of quests I believe they are going to turn Warlords into replacing the entirety of Warcraft. I imagine the process will happen over time but the first series of quests and the first area you are free to do what you want. For instance, the first major point one of the rewards was 'unlocking' level 15 spells. This is why I suspect we will find 'every' class is redesigned. In addition, I heard a rumor that they stalled with their "Titan" project and basically turned the enterprise into redesigning Warcraft. Instead of supporting Two MMORPGs and trying to make them separate. That could be a load of bollocks but it fits IMHO with what I saw in Warlords. Finishing Burning Crusade's reps and quests may be of interest for some. At least, for those who hope that they do, or 'will', matter in what is to come. I have avoided playing in Warlords any more than what I have already stated. I like to avoid burning myself out on content that will just be erased in a couple months at best.

I tend to fall asleep while I play its just no fun such an easy lay out of play style. Same with Ret paladins.. both heavy burst of dps.. but not as fun.. Warriors on the other hand though are. They have a lot of main CDs to watch for and procs so you can lay out most dps. it has a lot to do with what you want to have fun with.. I think though in WOD.. I might Play either a Paladin healing.. Or a Feral/ boomy druid. for pve...

Imho the real problem is, that classes are being too redundant. There are certain things a bunch of classes can do, and then there's another thing the other half can. But since the whole encounter got easier and easier, you don't really need certain things anymore because you could just pick an alternative class that suits your needs just as good as the other one.
For example, back in BC, you enjoyed having a sp in your group who brings a lot of mana reg to the group that was needed for longer encounters. Just one example.
I want the good old times back when you had to cc not only on trash but on a few boss encounters as well and playing a certain class actually made you feel important. Now I often get the feeling that I dont actually bring anything to the group. I'm just there, halfway afk, pressing a few buttons. Blizz should change this in the first place.
And I bet a lot of ppl feel the same, because all you do is DPSing, while maybe 1 or 2 ppl are doing something else (like the engineer on the garrosh encounter).
Preach, the fact that you're raiding in WoD has really motivated me to do the same!

I'm at a bit of a crossroads myself, Preach. When they allow the $60 90s, I'm gonna be boosting one of my non 90s per pay period and seeing which I prefer the most. I would LOVE to go in as a unholy/ frost dk, but I also want some back up plans in case they don't want a DK. So far, I'm looking at this:

I, like many others, also have hunter on this list, but as of now he's a maybe. I'm iffy with hunters personally, but I will see, since I plan on boosting him first.

Agreed. Sounds like the current front runner to me. Playstyle between the specs is varied enough that he won't get bored, which could happen with a hunter. And he can switch up and tank if need be. All of this is conjecture of course, given that we don't know the extent to which changes will be made but its still fun to talk about. Come on Blizz, need beta!
and the raw survival of blood spec is a huge bonus if you wanna fuck off and farm for awhile.

I totally needed something like this. I'm sooo indecisive about my class and even my spec.
Shaman are already one of the best if not the best healer in the game and so far when I look at the next ability and talent... They're going to be even better so I'm quite happy since I play Resto Shaman and Elem Shaman and both of them get a huge boost in WOD so far unless they change it until it come out.
I got like 200k+ HEAL with a Ilvl of 540 in raid and with my other Elem Shaman ILVL 553 I got a DPS of something like 240k Single Target like on raid boss...
I guess some people suck with them and some other are good I saw so many noob playing Resto Shaman and they suck so much it's making me mad.

The moving while casting was very important for PVP, but since I don't PVP not be able to move while casting is not than big of a lose.

Because..... you realize that Bloodlust+Dark Soul: Misery+Beserking is 80% haste..... 80% haste...... basically instant Haunts. xD. They may change that, but so far that is overpowered as hell.

Yes preach, I'm a ret pally and prot sometimes. It is awesome! It allowed me to grow in my skill as well as do awesome dps while looking great and be fun.
The mage part is not true, look at Vykina in Method, Frost is easily the best in DPS but he plays Fire in the best guild in the world

I nearly got kicked from a pug the other day for playing sub. about the warlock , Blizz is removing snapshotting so every tick of a DoT is gonna calculate the damage when it ticks not when u trow the DoT on the target

they fixed the micro management of dots though. you don't have to recast immolate for procs anymore. It will automatically scale when trinks, or cooldowns proc

For feral druid, it's just not that fun, honestly. Got rake up? If yes, got savage roar up? If yes, got rip up? If yes, go ham... oh wait, you were out of energy after the first seven skills you used, and even if you refresh 60 energy, that gives you about two shreds with the energy regen added.
It doesn't do bad damage, but it's just not that fun, and if you manage your combo points or energy poorly once or twice, you're at the bottom of the dps charts. Even then, it's not that it's difficult. It's just unforgiving and shit honestly. It's a spec that has been left in the dust since... I don't know, TBC? Though honestly, it feels pretty much the same as it did back in vanilla.

Almost nobody played druids in vanilla, and a fraction of that were feral or Deep Feral as others put it. So no, druids now and then are no where close to each other.

I'm both thankful and sad that they nerfed feral in MoP though, with the split into feral and guardian. It was fun to be able to throw a stun on people that did a bleed for around 120k damage on top of the other bleeds.

I like your way of thinking on this video though some of it is looking at things more of preference and that has it's importance but utility is also an amazing thing to keep in mind a lot of the classes you pointed out have utility as well as they're fun to play.

Continuing my hunter, Started this game in vanilla as a Warrior, and kept one until the end of BC, (Had dual wielding the badge talons) Had mained tanking, but Did not enjoy the "responsibility", given that you're in charge of everyone else, aside from the guild leader who can never be wrong. WotLK, I rolled Druid, It was an amazing playstyle and I enjoyed being able to go resto to solo heal VoA, But could also get one of the top DPS as boomkin in Ulduar. Cataclysm I went back to the warrior, As protection once again. Found myself getting bored after having gotten Hagara on farm. So I went to my Hunter, who for the most part, had just been my RP toon, With a lot of gear that I had to play with. I was able to get a full tier set near right before the end. When MoP started, I had wanted to start fresh, So I started on my pally, who was incredibly fun ret, but really hard to find a group because at the time, the guild needed heals and tanks, and was overly good on melee dps (Stupid DKs) Ended up just recently coming back to my hunter, Was in a 4/14 HM Guild, that I was able to get the Death Lotus xbow (HWF) with a very lucky coin! So far, I've enjoyed my druid and hunter the most, But the hunter is going to win the future, Mostly because I enjoy kiting a lot, and strafing.. Even without my legendary cloak (which is almost done), I'm pulling top 1-2 damage, (440k~) dps, in more of a casual guild, which feels good knowing that I'm helping this guild get to where it needs to go. Hunters are renowned for being able to get secured spots in raids, as to where melee dps are short in numbers, and Druids you're more likely than not to be asked to heal, which I have also found boring because of what responsibilities come at you.
You're saying you want to be in a high tier end game content focused guild, yet your mindset seems to be more around the idea of wanting to play in a form where you can play whatever spec you choose based on how much you enjoy it. Maybe you need to re-focus what type of guild you're aiming to raid with for one thats decent, but not aiming for top 10 on a server. Just an observation.

Mike, I believe they said that Hunters will basically have the same option as Warlocks do with Grimiore of Sacrifice. The ability to not use a pet while gaining in damage done to make up for it.
If being in a guild means that you are locked into certain characters and to move guilds means possibly getting another character to play with, there is something wrong there. You shouldn't have to change for a guild, you should be having fun with your guild. It almost seems like a job the way you put it and when it becomes a job, it's no longer a game worth playing.

What the fuck does choose a class mean? Just like the past 3 expansions this one will have 10 minutes of new content and you'll be fully epiced out 24 seconds after hitting 100. 'Which class am I gonna level to max and get fully geared today' you mean?
I feel the same about warlock, because there is no 'comfortable' straight rotation and I just end up making a mess. The only somewhat less frustrating rotation is destro.

I find it interesting how many problems he had with classes being irrelevant in WoD. Marksman had the option for no pet, and so did Warlocks. Snapshotting was taken out for locks, so they didn't have to look for procs and recast their dots. But he was also 100% right about Arcane being the best, and nearly only spec for mage come the end of WoD. Also with the Sub rogue being the best and only spec at the end of WoD. Some things never change, and he called the out perfectly. Wonder if he reads these comments on old videos lol

Paladin utility is also irreplaceable. Having hand spells is just too good of a toolkit for raids. hpal mastery also makes them ridiculous, without getting gimped on throughput they still have a passive shield...
When Cata came out I just randomly chose a class I had.. at the time it was level 44 and I didn't play it much. Jump forward to today and I'm still playing that very class. Sometimes it just takes a big, drastic change.

I have a rogue, hunter, mage, druid and a dk too choose from. Although they all are quite fun too play, I agree with you. Dk is probably my go to. Love being in frost spec and throw up blood pres too solo some adds then jump into blood spec too slowly grind down a boss. Give you an amazing feeling of power when you are able too be self sustaining and still be able too work well in raids and dungeons.
I'm likely going to be playing my Hunter as my main for raiding mythic in warlords. Problem is, I'm not sure about the changes to the specs. I've also become very attached to my 2 and 4 piece set bonuses.
If you look at the WoD notes, proc based damage increases will not affect spells like they currently do so no more recasting because of a new buff
Also rogues are in the best spot they've ever been in right now. Combat is awesome over all, sub is the strongest single target, and assassination still pulls respectable numbers. Every single rogue spec is top tier raidable right now which lets you play whatever spec you want to play.
I really agree with you on dk despite my limited knowledge (its only lvl 83) but the class feels powerful, every festering attire makes me feel like a beast and every heart strike makes me look do damn powerful, amazing class
Guys I'm currently a level 75 ret pally and plan on picking up WoD very soon. Since it gives you a level 90 I'm gonna use my pally as an alt although my problem is that a paladin is the only class I have any experience with and how no idea how any of the other classes feel. I'm relatively new to the game and enjoy DPS, so any suggestions of what Race (preferably Horde) and class to play as? Thanks
I have a lot of experience with Shamans and let me tell you...Don't take this guys word for it. Shamans are really fun to play. You have great versatile DPS whether it's AoE or single target. They have great burst and procs. The totems look cool when you're zapping people in PvP. Thunderstorm is just fun to use in PvP because you can knock people off cliffs and kill them in Eye of the Storm. You can easily time your CDs with the Resto Shaman and Chain Heal is what makes Resto Shammys so damn OP when it comes to Raid heals. They're mana efficient, in my opinion, and Bloodlust is the best raid buff in the game. No raid can be successful without a Shaman in it. I'm biased because I've been playing a Shaman since Cata, but that's because it's my first class ever.
As said in my comment if you want to get a toon boosted, get a class to 60 and then boost it for the profession boosts
What's wrong with the Blood Elf racials? From what I read they seem like the only horde class getting a buff with their racials, but I might have just read that wrong.
Of all the classes I have played, warrior feels so much nicer and fits into what i want from my game. Paladins and DK's are not melee enough. All their spells and some ranged capabilities etc.. just does not feel like a proper melee (heroic throw is still melee damage).
Our plate armor sets are massive beyond words, and once we get geared up we WRECK.FACE! Now, have I always loved my warrior? Nope, there were times where I seriously considered re-rolling and at times did. But I always came back to it; once you go warrior, you never go back.
Oh, and Titan's Grip, DW Armageddons...YES.
So what's the addon I heard u had that told u the next ability u should use based on cooldowns?

I find myself thinking this way all the time. It's so hard for me to stick to one thing and I really hate being pidgenholed into a certain spec when I just really really want to play a different way. I gotta get hired on the balance team just so I can keep whatever spec I want to play viable, but even then you would have to convince the masses and when they have decided something is not good it can take some big buffs before they will even consider changing their minds.
I just wanted to say your criticism of the Warlock class is something I absolutely notice playing Feral. I enjoy trying to time my rip to match up with procs so that I get ludicrous dps/2s, but at the same time procs are rng and I am willing to let a less than excellent rip and rake slide. I can definitely see why you don't like either option!
Very interesting and insightful to hear how one of the better players in the community decides this. I also have a difficult time choosing my class. I am actually leaning towards shaman or monk for the dps because I love the playstyle of always having something to press for WW or Enhance. And because of my lore'ness and thinking I am actually leaning towards the Shaman, as he is an Orc and there is something fun to me about being an Orc who is returning to his ancestor's home. Then again I have about as many 90s as Mr. Preacher and cant ever really decide on one. : \
I'm gonna start playing when the new expansion comes out. I've wanted to play since BC, but circumstances haven't allowed me. my 90 boost will be a tauren druid for gathering professions to finance other characters and to help decide what role I enjoy in a raid. I'm thinking my first from scratch character will be an undead rogue of some sort though. I've loved the undead race and I just love melee single target dps. I think being the utilitarian saves the day type of a sub rogue would be fun too. I just don't know schedule wise what I'll be able to do for a guild at the time.

Well Preach you have got me thinking a fair bit, difficult to say, I myself have been trying every class and race in the game so, personally I have no idea what to go for.

Being invited into Warlords, I was gifted recently.
I ported my lvl 90 mage over and I found that they abundantly redesigned mages.
Based upon the first series of quests I believe they are going to turn Warlords into replacing the entirety of Warcraft. I imagine the process will happen over time but the first series of quests and the first area you are free to do what you want.
For instance, the first major point one of the rewards was 'unlocking' level 15 spells.
This is why I suspect we will find 'every' class is redesigned.
In addition, I heard a rumor that they stalled with their "Titan" project and basically turned the enterprise into redesigning Warcraft. Instead of supporting Two MMORPGs and trying to make them separate. That could be a load of bollocks but it fits IMHO with what I saw in Warlords.
Finishing Burning Crusade's reps and quests may be of interest for some. At least, for those who hope that they do, or 'will', matter in what is to come.
I have avoided playing in Warlords any more than what I have already stated. I like to avoid burning myself out on content that will just be erased in a couple months at best.
