I been having this tradition on Halloween for the past few years. Playing Luigi's Mansion from start to finish as fast as I can while getting a Rank A with 100%. My best is 2:23:07 at the moment.
I remember this game so much, damn. I couldn't stay away from it the first time I played it. Definitely one of the best games for the Gamecube and overall that Nintendo has given us.
This is one of the reasons Luigi's Mansion is one of my favorite games of all time. A lot of people didn't like it cause it was different, but that's what made the game so great.
I am just getting to the end of my childhood, I am just about to turn 14 and I am reliving the games that I played when I was 4 and 5. Please understand my people, that we all have to grow up some day, you must treasure every minute like it's your last.
This game was probably one of the most enjoyable games I've ever played, and that's saying something. The humor, environment, music, and difficulty of this game were all so great, and so unique that it's always stuck out to me as an incredibly innovative and witty title. I can only hope they do it justice in the sequel. (Also the scene where they restore Mario continues to make me laugh)
FishNipples Here are MY pros and cons for the final battles in Luigi's Mansion AND Dark Moom. Luigi's Mansion Final Battle -Pros: Graphics were amazing back then, and still are today! I also thought it had a great atmosphere, and the music made it feel like you were in Hell (and looked that way as well). And finally, a good use of the vacuum -Cons:Vacuum could've used elemental powers, bit of a missed opportunity. Fight was on the easier side. Bowser took the spotlight away from King Boo (kind of there just because) Dark Moon: Pros. Harder boss fight. Fun mechanics used such as when you're running from a giant rolling King Boo. Good use of the vacuum. Interesting setting (weird vortex world). More focus on King Boo Cons: Didn't feel as much as a final battle, King Boo could've had more potential in my opinion. Music was a bit meh compared to other tracks in the game. Wasn't as intense (in the non rolling Boo section). Atmosphere was overall not as good, but not bad either.
This is definitely one of, if not the darkest Mario (it’s based on Luigi, but it’s still a Mario game in my eyes) games ever. With the creepy and very threatening King Boo, the disturbing Bowser boss, and Mario pleading for help inside a painting O_o
Bowser's head getting popped off is a lot worse than throwing bowser into a pit of stinking lava! Luigi is a lot more smart than Mario and the Toads *EDIT* It s actually King boo
I thought that the ending was adorable. Seeing Luigi cry with relief that his brother's ok, yet laughing at him with the vent stuck on his head like a good brother would made my day. = )))
Luigi is crying from happiness, because he's so happy to see Mario again. I don't know why, but that always used to get to me. In fact, it still does. Whenever people complain about the Mario games not having any plot, this is one of the scenes I refer them to. It's little things like that that show you how developed the characters actually are. This scene shows just how much Luigi loves his brother. And after facing his worst fears, he's finally reunited with him. Well done, Luigi.
I always found it hilarious that in the cutscene, Luigi takes FOREVER to open the door, but in the gameplay, he goes like: -Bitch please, I-a got this. And opens it.
It wasn't really Bowser. It's a possessed puppet. Also the reason why Bowser wasn't in the second one was simple. The puppet was destroyed and reduced to just a head after it was defeated so King Boo instead used an improved crown to fight Luigi. I actually liked the final boss of the second game because the King is fighting you more directly rather then hiding behind the face of a puppet.
When Luigi shed a tear, i remember sorta crying and feeling happy because it was a real tear of joy for seeing his brother ok. That really got me. Not gonna lie that i have watery eyes right now.
awh man this game brings back so many memories .. me and my big bro just playing 24/7 everyday for like a month .. i remember that christmas the day i got it
I think King Boo is meant to be Bowser’s soul. Thats why King Boo controls bowser in the final fight and explains why King Boo wants to trap Mario and Luigi in paintings before ever even having a chance to know who they are. This series takes place after Bowser dies.
I cry to the ending all the time. Doesn't matter if I beat the game so many times because I can relate to Luigi. I'm afraid of things like he is. And no matter what, I'll go through the same things just to rescue my older brother. Luigi is the best, man. =)
I used to get pissed off at this game when I couldn't beat a section and throw my controller. I do remember that at the very end when Mario pops out and Luigi starts crying and laughing I did shed a tear or two. Very happy moment of my childhood.
It puzzles me how good this game still looks after 10 fucking years. I still play it; and it was my first Game Cube game, and it looks better that most 2005-2006 PS2 games.
Laughing at your brother and crying at the same time while your brother was stuck inside a freaking painting! You,Luigi have failed me,Mario, and all people who respect Mario...
Think about it. What would Bowser be doing inside of a painting in a creepy mansion? And since when, in any game, did his head turn around or come off? And in what other game does he breathe ice? (blue fire means extra-hot fire, it's not ice) When did he ever make mine magically appear in his hands? Sure, King Boo could've trapped Bowser in a painting, but he never mentioned it. The first time I saw this boss, I pretty much knew it wasn't him. It's a misconception. :/
I'm amazed how this game has good graphics for a 2001 game.
it was a gamecube launch title, what we had before this was n64 games, so yeah, pretty cool
Yeah
@@thefedoraclan1364 This game is fraccin creepy!!!
Nintendo was ahead of their time during these ages. Crazy how GameCube completely outclassed the Xbox and PS2 in graphics.
The tear of relief at the end of Luigi's face, makes the game so much better.
Seeing Luigi crying tears of joy. One of the most emotional parts of the Mario Bros past.
Seeing a decapitated Bowser is quite scary even if it is a suit. And I agree with another user, let Luigi have his own archnemesis! :]

King Boo is his Archnemesis

Anyone else notice when demonic Bowser is headless and is firing ice balls at Luigi, he is missing his pupils?
O_o
Well that just ruined my childhood D=
***** exactly, its soo creepy and also, he ends headless
Wow, barely noticed. Thought he always had pupils

Love how Luigi is sweating and shaking when he sees Mario XD
Well, he's not sweating, he's crying :">
@@angrysonic10 Well, he's not crying, those are just tears of joy by laughing at Mario because of the way he looks after turning back to normal :>
Magi Hussie no because he did this whole thing and finally saved his brother but I think also the vent around the neck

that's just too real for me

Didn’t expect to see you here.
Because it is easy kid
I didn't know you were a fan of Luigi's Mansion! Wonder if you could play it during October again...
I was practically smiling ear to ear when Luigi was laughing his head off! Hah ha ha ha! He cracks me up!
11 years later and I still randomly hum the Dark Room theme.
What a great game.
Do you still do it 21 years later?

Ok well, the headless bowser certainly caught me off guard.
7:17 the way Luigi shakes and a tear falls down while hes laughing is just so subtly epic... it gets to me :')
I have first watch this when I was little boy. I'm now 15 years old and I'm glad to watch this again.
"Don't you imagine that I'll flee, I'll fight you like a true Boo!"
He said as he hid inside a mechanichal Bowser.
Lol
Luigis mansion is the perfect example of nostalgia, its just so epic!
Even Luigi's Mansion have Bowser being the final boss
Idk maybe it’s not real. Maybe King Boo made a fake Bowser because he knew Luigi would be scared of it.
Idk, I just won't beat this Bowser, being fake or not, I fail all the time, I find this boss very hard!!
The Ending Always Touched My Heart :,)
I called this boss Booser.
I beat that guy pretty smoothly, although those ice breaths were sometimes annoying.

the ending.... just goes to show ya that even though Luigi doesn't get as much fame as Mario he still worries and cares about his older brother

Still nothing.
i remember when i was soooo scared to play this game alone (; ahhh the good ol' days ;p

This boss is really hard in Hidden Mansion (PAL), especially when you try to get the gold painting. One mistake, you have like 30 health.
I've been stuck on this boss for roughly ten years. It still kicks my ass.
One time I defeted Bowser,Bowser fell on me and it said "Good Night!"and Luigi was crushed but the sky took mario back to the lab.

Each Mario character deserves at least 10 of their own games.
