I'm 6feet and being pushed on the tank and sitting higher up sucks ....my road king was like that until I got a Mustang seat that moved me back 2 inches.
I've seen a lot of people get the mustang seat instead of the saddlemen, but i just love the quality of it and how much longer it lets me sit on the bike until my butt starts hurting lol. At first when I got the seat it felt. weird, but I got use to it an I love the Saddlemen Explorer seat now! I still think it's the best decision, but that's my opinion 🤙🏻
Thanks bro! Yea I love the seat. It's not even broken in and it still is VERY comfortable. It was definitely worth buy it! Thanks for watching the video 🤙🏻
Thanks for the review - it's true after the initial break in period ( typically 350 miles) the seat will conform to you and relax quite a bit- allowing for many many miles of comfortable riding.
Hello, I really enjoyed the video and review. Any update on Mrs. Miracle impressions of the seat? I'm getting rid of my Saddlemen 2-up seat so my fiancee has a better time riding with me on the longer rides.
Thanks brother 🤙🏻 She is LOVING the Saddlemen Explorer seat! Whenever we go for rides she tells me she never has a numb spot or any pain or anything on the seat. She said the seat is expensive, but it's definitely worth the price. We're trying to figure out a way to do dual vlogs so everyone can hear her opinions. She does have an instagram page but nothing posted yet, work has been crazy for her. I'll tell her to start making posts and stories about the seat and everything. If there are any other questions for Ms. Miracle just let me know and I'll get back to you on that. Thanks for watching my video!
Ill be sure to check em out. Ive always had Mustang seats and that going to be interesting to see how Saddlemen heat hold up to them. Thank you for the video
the saddle is thicker so you sit higher on the bike? this puts you further from the pedals and your leg is less bent. I just want to sit lower because you are already ON the bike, like on the stand of a cart ...(i am 6,3)
It does have you sit a little higher up, but it does sink down a little after time. There are different companies that are thinner seats so you get lower, but they aren't as comfortable. Like I said in my video, I'm around 6'1" and I feel very comfortable on the bike. If there is a harley dealership close sometimes they have the saddlemen seats so you can try them out first. Also if you go on my Instagram I have a picture of me riding on my bike and it shows how I look on the saddlemen seat. Thanks for watching 🤙🏻
So are you wearing a mask to keep from getting Covid from yourself? I just bought a Saddleman solo seat for my Sportglide. Plus have pillion in saddle bag for when I have a passenger. Hope the gel helps for long trips. 14k miles on my stock seat so I’ve got a good point of reference.
Not trying to be a critic but the seat tongue doesn’t look like you slid it into proper position which is why you may have the gap. Please check it for safety. It slides into the metal slot below where you pointed in the video.
Thanks for trying to look out for me though 🙌🏻. It does look a little weird with that big lip, but I have contacted Saddlemen and they did tell me it's there so the seat doesn't scratch tank. Thanks for commenting and watching my video bro🤙🏻
You can order it at any Harley-Davidson dealership. If you order it from Saddlemen it'll get to your front door, but if there is any problems with the seat then you have to call Saddlemen and have to deal with them, which they really are great! Or you order it from drag specialties at a Harley dealership and get it sent to the dealership and if there is any problems with the seat then the Harley dealership will deal with the problem and call Saddlemen themselves. Best option is go to the dealership and talk to someone in the parts department. It really is an amazing seat! Hope that helps bro 🤙🏻 Drag Specialties/Parts Unlimited Part #: 0802-1053 Saddlemen Part #: 818-29-0291
Right!!!! I have to stop by this weekend to show you the seat! And then once your bike is services and everything, we definitely have to do some serious miles. See you soon brother 🤙🏻
Thanks for watching! Yes, there are several Saddlemen seat styles. If you don't plan on riding 2 up then I recommend the "Step up" seat. There are also solo seats. I have the explorer because Miss Miracle and I ride 2 up all the time and we both are taller people. And each seat has different type of stitching like lattice and you can use almost any color for the seat and stitching. I'd say to go on the Saddlemen website and check out all of the styles and see what fits you most. If there are any other questions just comment down here or DM me on my Instagram 🤙🏻
Thank you so much! I will be using this video again when I install! I ended up going with the 2-up. I’ll pair that with HD 4”risers since I’m not a tall guy. I am excited to upgrade during the slow months and your video is allowing the seat upgrade to happen! I will follow on IG man. Y’all take care!
@@geeokitsok No problem brother. Thanks for watching and enjoying my video! I'm glad that my video helped you get that upgrade. That's one of the reasons I love doing this motovlogging, it helps others with things like choosing a product! Once again thanks for watching 🤙🏻
Good Review Mate , I think for you to be totally Comfortable you will have to install a 6 inch Pull Back Riser and Fit a More Straighter Set of Handlebars , Or Ultimately go fo a Set of Krauss ERG adjustable Sweep Handlebars Bro . Ride Safe & Be Cautious when in High Density Traffic.
Yea these stock bars have to go. I was thinking about getting 12" Z bars, I'm not sure which company yet though. And then this motorcycle will be in perfect comfortable riding position! Thanks for watching my video bro 🤙🏻
Oh no 😬. I bought a heritage softail bec I like the feeling of sitting down IN the bike. You saying it sits up higher worries me now. I like the deep bucket feeling…if that makes sense to you. That’s why I don’t buy a road king. Felt like I was sitting on top a horses back. On heritage softail it’s like you sit down into the bike
I agree with you. I love when a bike makes you sit IN the bike. I loved my sport glide because of that, but when I got the saddlemen seat it did make me feel almost like horseback, BUT once I wore in the seat about 300-500 miles it settled down like at least an inch and I felt more like a bucket instead of the horseback feeling. You'll love the heritage. So many people love that bike!! When do you get your bike?
@@MotoMiracle oh I bought it couple weeks ago. Bought a teal and white 2016 heritage with only 9k miles on it for 11,500 👍. Dealer had one exactly like it and they wanted 14k for it and it had 55k miles on it 😂. I always buy on private market. Basically got a mint new bike for 11,500 😎 instead of a new one for 26k. Plus I like the old classic looking heritage over the newer ones. But thanks that pretty much answers my question. I saw a few others say you sink down a good inch or so once seat breaks in. I can deal with that 👍
That's crazy!!! Such a great deal with thatHeritage!!!! LIke you said its basically a brand new bike!!! I'm glad that answered your question though!!! Enjoy your bike. You loving it?
All together I've only ridden just over 2,000 miles so far on the Saddlemen seat. I've been having health problems recently, but once things get better I'll be doing some long distance riding. And the longest I've ridden on the Saddlemen seat without getting off was a full talk. So I've ridden180 miles, my bike can ride about 200 miles depending on how aggressive I ride.
@@MotoMiracle Awesome thanks! We are about the same height and build. I just did a couple hundred miles last Saturday on the stock seat, which was killing me. So, I'm seriously looking at this seat as a potential replacement.
@@knightalumni No problem bro! Yea the stock seat is horrible, but after like 2 hours your ass will be numb 😂. But the Saddlemen Explorer seat is amazing! So far I haven't had any pain, numbness or any groin pain. It is expensive, but it is totally worth it. Once you get this seat you can honestly go until your tank is almost dry. 🤙🏻
@@MotoMiracle So, thanks again for doing this video. I just pulled it up again because I scored a Saddlemen Explorer seat for my '21 SG. I'll put it on tomorrow since your video made it look so easy. I do have a few more questions (and BTW, hope you're doing better). 1. The instructions say the seat will settle a half inch to an inch over the break in period? Did that happen? You said in your video you felt you sat higher, so I'm wondering if you still feel you sit higher or if it in fact settled. 2. Has the gap at the front diminished with time? 3. Though I'm 6', it always felt like a stretch to the mustache bars despite my long legs. Did the new seat make the mustache bar foot position better/more comfortable? 4. Was the passenger grab strap that you removed not able to be reinstalled? Just asking because Saddlemen seems adamant in their docs there should be one installed. Oh, and Chemical Guys products are the bomb. I love Blacklight and the Quick Detailer especially. I'm also 25% Sicilian!
@@knightalumni no problem brother, I love making that kind of content! Nice, you'll love the seat! I was doing better, but my seizures came back so I haven't been riding for 2 weeks!!! But I went for a quick ride today and I'm almost at 100%, thanks for asking. 1)Yes the seat did settle over the break in period. It definitely settled down and didn't make me feel as high up. The more miles you put on the saddlemen seat the more comfortable it gets. I'll be doing a 5,000 miles review soon and I'll explain about that. 2)That gap is still there. I have talked to a few people and they have told me that the reason that the gap is there is so your seat doesn't scratch the tank, which makes sense. 3)In my opinion I think it does get a little closer to the engine guard so it's a little easier to relax on the mustache bars, but once you do the break in period it may change a little again. I think it was more comfortable with the sadadlemen seat compared to the stock seat though. 4)I honestly dont think that strap fits. It was tight for the slim stock passenger seat I dont think it would fit. The explorer passenger seat is very tall. The seat looks like it has a fake grab strap on it though lol. I know most states say it's illegal to not have a grab strap, but if you look at alot of saddlemen seats noone has the strap on it. There may be a strap you can buy 🤷🏻♂️. I mean I have a sissy bar so noone really has to grab on the strap at all, ya know? YES Chemical Guys are amazing. I'll be doing a review on a sprayable leather that people can put on the seat so the seat wont crack on fade! It works amazingly! Thank you for asking some good questions! And once you install the seat and ride it for a while, let me know what you think about it and how it changed your seat position and everything! I really like the seat and Miss Miracle loves it also. So much better then the stock seat! 🤙🏻
The seat isn't even broken in yet and it feels so COMFORTABLE!!! Saddlemen may be a little expensive, BUT it definitely is worth the price tag! Thank for watching the video bro 🤙🏻
Great firsr impressions. The gap is not that bad. How is the sides? Any gaps there and cables can be seen? Love to hear what you think after the break in period. 😁👍
Nope the side looks really nice! It is slimmer, but I love the look of it. THanks for watching the video! And maybe after the 500 miles I'll add that to one of my videos. If I feel a huge difference then I'll make a separate video for the 500 miles break in period 🤙🏻
Great review ! Thinking about this model vs the Step Up, as I want do ride long distance vs canyon carving or stunt. Question : do you suppose a sissybar will fit, despite the wider rear seat ?
Thanks for watching brother!! For long distance I highly recommend the Explorer seat. The longer you ride on that seat the better the seat gets. And yes the sissy bar fits on this seat!! The last 2 or 3 videos on my channel I have the sissy bar on with my backpack on it. It fits perfectly, just enough space 🤙🏻
