You should revisit Diablo 2, it is the best if you are looking for story, cut scenes, skill tree synergy and challenge.D2 also has the offlne mode which you can simulate the player count which will give your more drop chance and experience the more players count you add like Players 8 to find high tier item drops increasing difficulty... Diablo 3 was not as good, they wanted to make it more arcade for more broad entry so it is easier though the end game push in adventure mode with greater rifts in the higher tiers is in no means a cake walk. D3's campaign mode has good looking cut scenes the first time through but adventure mode is where it is at and you gotta remember D3 is at its best now after decade of evolution...In D4 be sure to turn on advanced tool tips in options so you can compare items way better and it show the min/max roll potential. Gear legendary aspects are really what fleshes out the base skills, agree the skills arent that complex but the aspect variances is what make the difference, as a tip you can also apply legendary aspects to rare items which converts the item. Season 4's quality of life changes will change the game completely, this season is meh but the pet is fun. I played the Barbarian in D4 as Kratos, made him look like him even with the white and red paint, geared my skills only using what he might use and it was like a GOW experience haha
i think diablo immortal is free to play and mobile game so it would last basically forever while diablo 4 would have to be replaced with diablo 5 so 'm sure they designed it to last not that long. maybe 2 expansions for diablo 4 then dead. clash of clans...forever... all the mobile games just last forever and just make the level higher to grind.
complete the story then try the end game this game is more end game and you need to look at builds you will feel alot stronger when you have a build youve tried 5% of the game so far

I used summoner necro until I finished the campaign. Then switched to bone splinter build for the endgame.
Next season is going to have a huge revamp.
I hope so because so far the game feels really empty at times

I have 2 on the switch, I'll play that then. I hear it was the last good Diablo game from many people

I'm going to finish it, it's definitely fun and I'm hoping the conclusion to the story will be good
