    I had my first I3 replacement yesterday and the molding engineering was brand new to me. I found your video, it actually came up first and learned what I needed to complete the job. Who knows how long it may have taken if I didn’t find your video. Thank you and well done!

    I wish whoever replaced the windshield on our i3 before we bought it had watched this video. They broke all of the clips and just half-ass glued the pillar trim pieces back on. Both have now blown off while driving. Watching this video showed me how to properly replace the parts. Thank you.

    Awesome video ! Actual windshield replacement 5 minutes. Taking the crap out from around - 50 minutes , cleaning 5 minutes. I wish car makers would realize windshields are a wear and tear items now. I had 3 changed on my Van in 5 years. I change windshields more often then tires. Thanks to terrible roads which deteriorate and full with rocks.

    BMW was like we gotta make our side mountings more complicated any ideas and someone was like let’s put it from front to back and hide the clips when you try to take it off so people just have to pry on it and hope for the best

    How do you ensure your knife doesn't hit the carbon fiber frame/A-pillar when you are cutting out the windshield?

    • @clnautoglass
      @clnautoglass  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I can feel when the blade is cutting through the urethane especially on BMW the urethane is not hard I always let the tool do the work putting a lot of pressure is the common Mistake and the easy way to damage parts

    Hi. Please can you help. A couple of years ago I had water sloshing around inside the sills and foot well of my 2016 i3. BMW drilled some hoes in the sills to let the water out and said that the windscreen was leaking due to a know fault with the seal. They charged me for the repair and to refit the screen with a new sealing kit. We had snow this weekend and the car has started leaking again as the snow thawed (car didn't move but sopping wet in the morning so not leaking when stationary) so that the foot wells are now wet again tho no sloshing water in the sills as presumably this drained through the holes BMW drilled. My question is can you think of an obvious place/weakness in the perimeter of the windscreen seal where you think water might get into the car. I was thinking I might put waterproof tape around the top and sides to see if this stopped the ingress of water so at least I know whether to refit the screen again or not. The other possibility is the sunroof I guess but the drains have been cleared recently. If you have any thoughts on this I would be very grateful. Best, Richard

    • @clnautoglass
      @clnautoglass  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      depends if you have a panoramic roof most likely the frame is damaged but if you have only a sunroof maybe the drains are close sorry for the late reply

    • @dopiaza2006
      @dopiaza2006 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'd say you have two leaks, The water sloshing around is unlikely to be the same leak as wet floor.

    It seems you removed the roof-panel joint seal located on the top corner of windshield (you can see it ay 20:00 and it's no longer there at 21:22). Any reason for not putting it back ? I plan to replace that gasket on my i3 (and that gasket only).

      @clnautoglass  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good eye. When I install the A pillar molding I left the gasket on the bottom with a little pick tool I pulled out

      Aftermarket should be fine unless the bottom retainer strip is chewed up.. have the tech let you see it before the install
