Your channel popped up in my recommendations, and it is exactly what I was looking for! No frills, ASMR and a restoration of a practical vehicle I can relate to. Best wishes from Germany :)
One of the best cheap investments i made after doing one side of a rusty old floor on my jeep was buy a cheap amazon plasma cutter i bet i saved as much in cutting disks as i paid for the plasma cutter and its been useful for a lot of other stuff as well👍🏻
Excellent. Keeping the car safe and reliable for your loved ones. Can't fault you. Possibly saving it from the scrap yard too. Great work and thoroughly enjoyed watching.
Are u planning of doing some cosmetic changes on the exterior of the car and also painting it it will a tidy bit better but live the work u r doing keep it up mate 👍
Thanks! For now, it’ll mostly just be fixing what’s broken. My girlfriend likes the stock look, but I’m trying to convince her to at least put on a luggage rack
love the videos. Obviously the kid has a master mechanic father helping off camera because it takes decade(s) of experience to learn everything he does to cars and to accumulate the necessary tools. He's essentially the face of the channel. But still cool as hell. He'll catch up to Dad in no time
Hi Simon, great video! Job well done. Two questions please: What is your experience with the Rust Oleum? I want to use the product in a future restauration of my car. Did you consider to use silencing material on top of the floorpan underneath the carpets. Thank you. Kind regards from the Netherlands
Note to folks in Minnesota and such places: Next time you want to buy an older car, visit the Pacific Northwest and drive a purchase home from there. The rust damage in other parts of the country always astounds me. I have owned at least 50 vehicles and not one has had 10 percent of the rust that this BMW suffers from. Cars in the desert Southwest are destroyed by sun (their interiors) and the Rust Belt eats steel alive. Unless a car has leaked in the Pacific Northwest rain, it lasts forever.
Please wear eye protection when welding, (and grinding/cutting too) you only get one set of eyes. Some leather welding gloves would be a good idea as well, seriously!
I hate to break it to you, but you are completely wasting your time. This will not buy you any favors with your girlfriend. In fact, she expects you to do stuff like this, so she can do whatever she wants.
The depth of skills you have for such a young age is really impressive. Incredible work, I've really enjoyed following your projects!
Your Girlfriend is lucky to have you mate 👍

Feel like I discovered gold. Going back and watching all your stuff. Great work!

its helpful to video all vehicles during repairing them ,for the future buyer to see what and how it was repaired .
You are a true artist. All respect to you 👍
You did a great job, for the future after paint, put fatmat or dynomat, the car will never rust again. All the best.
She better be a good cook.
I like food
I was waiting for you to pressure wash the floor Matt assembly !
Ça son l'orage ,toute mes félicitations travaille bien fait (Artiste)

On the contrary, cars are not my father's area of expertise, nor his interest.
@@SimonFordman then you're a prodigy with thousands of dollars worth of tools and decades of experience and all self taught. Amazing!!
good job
Salute
She is a lucky girl to have you 😁
Bonjour et bon-courage ❤
Living where it snows a lot the snow from your feet gets the carpet padding wet and causes that rust. Its from the inside not underneath
True … but the e28 is extremely prone to rust issues!
😎👍
Nice storm :)
Just what you need to keep you she deserves you and I know it you do too》
Too bad you didn't pressure wash the carpet when it was out of the car.
I hope she baked you some cookies for all that work.

por 15 the floor after de-rusting it will prevent rust from occurring..

What happened to the E30?
Keep on rockin'
Did you underseal the bare metal underneath.?
Not a great advert for Beemers. More blokes like you = fewer scrapped cars.
You should’ve washed that carpet when you had it out
I agree. It doesn’t look like it’s had a washing in a long time.
Just what I was thinking !
BMW's rust?

Noticed the gloves, finally, excellent. You do good work with a minimum of speciality tools, very impressive

@picassomooon
Spoken like a true incel.
Might be hes not looking for favours but just looking after her and her car cause he cares
Ya no se vio en el video y no quisiera molestarte pero, impermeabilizaste la parte de abajo del auto?. 🤔
Vacuuming and washing the carpet should have been done before it was installed in the car, not after.
