- How to remove your mirror caps from the 2021 F150.
The vehicle shown is a 2021 Platinum in Agate Black and we're replacing the chrome mirror caps as one of the last steps in doing a full chrome delete for this truck.
Painted mirror caps and full chrome delete parts from BFN Truck Shop (shop.bfntrucks...)
Tools required:
Torx T-15 driver
Flat head screwdriver (needs to be about 6-8" long)
By far the best how to video. There is a slot to put the screwdriver in when prying and it’s sounds so bad when it pops loose. Passenger side was a little tougher to get off but make sure the screwdriver is in that slot. When back together all worked as before.

Thanks Chris for the video. I am researching how to remove the mirror to run the cables for a side camera. This helped alot. Now i have to find one for the door panel to get the wires from the mirror to the headliner.
Great info thanks I just broke my mirror on my 23 Lightning backing into the garage the replacement mirror comes with paint to match caps since the front was broken I was able to transfer my old ones over to the new mirror.
Top notch tutorial. I plan on changing out my black XLT Lightning mirror caps with a body color set. I also plan on doing the same for all four door handle covers as well.

Awesome video. I didn't get my driver in the right slot and I broke the mirror drive motor. Oh well, at least that part is cheap. Wish I could post pictures here.

Followed the instructions but the 2023 xl mirrors with the notch in the corner for blind spot is too fragile broke the passenger side because its so thin cost us 200 because i bought the drivers side as well. Guessing it will shatter too
Great video. I just picked up a set of power folding mirrors for my XLT and need to get the caps painted. This video helped with showing on to remove the caps. Straight to the point
The little square trim piece you mention, does that have a part number or anything on it? Mine broke off my truck.

Yeaaa I tried to take off my 2022 lens off and it was too hard. I felt I was gonna destroy it.
Use the motor to move the glass to the inner/upper position. When you push on the glass by hand you actually forcing the plastic gears in the motors to jump. It is as harmful as it sounds.
Definitely want to do this, but was a little hesitant to do this myself. Thanks for this! How difficult are the door handles to replace?

Thanks for the video. When you pry with the screw driver are you sliding it between the mirror and the disc behind the center of the mirror?
Correct. It goes in perfectly at that angle and should be resting against the back of the glass. I'm pulling out from the handle of the screwdriver, not pushing against the inside of the mirror or mounting plate.

Did you paint the side emblems yourself?
They are painted, but I did not do it myself.

@@josebehar8219 I worked with BFN Truck Shop. I paid them to purchase new parts, paint them the way I wanted, and they shipped them to me when complete.
