My mom use to take me/then us to McDonald's after school every year on the first day... all years later I still remember and cherish those memories... can't wait to figure out what mine and my kids will be
Some great ideas! I noticed your green baskets in the cubbies. When I was homeschooling each child had their own color for all their supplies. Purple pencils, baskets, binders, pencil sharpeners etc. That way no fighting over that's my pencil... It's obvious who's pencil it is because of the color.

I love these ideas. Your kids are adorable. My kids are teens now and they still like getting their homemade cinnamon rolls on the first day of school. Since they are older, I'm going to try and have my them do bullet journals. I start school on Thursday to go over things and have them look over their curriculum. The second day, Friday, we watch movies foreshadowing their history for that year.
We don't go out for frozen yogurt that often, but we have a few locations near us. Last year in preschool, we took the kids to make their own Froyo when they got home from school (and yes, BEFORE dinner! *gasp*) as a special treat. I think we will continue that this year!
I have 2 teens and a 4 yr old lol and I still like to fix a special snack when my teens come home from school that first day....or even have a special dessert cake a couple days before it starts :) like something we normally don't get...an ice cream cake or even one of those birthday big cookies at the grocery store!
