Did this today, changed the tensioner aswell what a pain in the bollocks this was. Threads stripped and try getting a tap into that space and be able to operate it. Found the belt difficult to get on also, needed two people because new tensioner was very stiff, as it should be
Looks pretty tight, i would of fitted a new belt too. There pretty low price from carparts4less or euro. Have you ever attempted to fit a new condenser to the MK4 Mondeo yet.
@@BlakeCDS at 10:50 ISH I mention that the newer part is flat one side and recessed on the other so I fitted the flat side to the block. This lined up with the belt perfectly. It maybe that the part can be used on a different engine with a different offset so you can turn it round. Matt
@Mids1970 yeah I saw that, having issues with the belt being thrown off maybe I've put the idler on the wrong way around and the belt isn't running centred over it
I have a problem with my mk4 tdci 2.0 had a few pipes with holes in on my coolant pipe at separate times but within 6 weeks just had full service done and changed coolant after driving 50miles I checked the coolant when I looked around the expansion tank cap there is a white cream around the cap could this be the oil cooler im a bit stuck if anyone has had a similar problem

Brilliant, just about to change my belt, many thanks for taking the time to do this. 😎
The diagram of the belt run saved my day😎
Thank you so much, just the guide I needed! ❤

Does the idler pulley only have one orientation to be in installed? Or can it be installed with either side facing the engine block?

Great video, helped ne sort my car when the mechanic has let me down.
Thank you 👍 I'm really thankful for the feedback and that you were able to do it yourself 😄

Could be dried coolant mate or abit of condensation
Clean the cap and take it for a good long run and then have another check :)
