I was obsessed with Deadsy in high school, no tattoos, but I did wear a white plastic chain around my neck for awhile lol. Cher and Elijah actually covered Crimson & Clover together, it's worth a listen
There are only a few albums that I listen to fully through, and this is my number 1. I remember seeing the Key To Gramercy Park vid when it debuted on MTV, and I was obsessed ever since. I bought Commencement as soon as I could. When I say the whole album is a crescendo of amazing story telling and musical amazement, I mean every bit of it. And the finality of Commencement seals the deal for the whole thing. This album is poetic and deserves higher regard in the music world than what it has. Truly an amazing Nü Metal masterpiece, as much as I hate to call it that genre. My favorite album of all time.
“She likes big words” would’ve been a #1 smash hit if it was performed by Duran Duran… isn’t it cool that this is the kid from the Cher video… you know, the one on the ship with her ass hanging out, right in Elijah’s face… mansion world, flowing glower, cruella and future years are also great songs from this album
Thanks.... They also do a great cover of Paint it Black by the Rolling Stones and Fox on the Run by Sweet ... Ace Frehley does a killer version of Fox on the Run also. Their is a live version of Deadsy doing Tom Sawyer recorded live at the Whiskey a Go Go. on you tube.... Winners is another great original song they do.
Deadsy take on Tom Sawter ts very interesting. The guitars like damn buzzsaw. Super thick and in your face blended with a subtle not so expressive voice. Opposite of how Rush has voice in your face Vs Guitar. Def worth a spot on myvplaylist. Thanks for bringing attention to this. On a side note...this made me think that Five Finger Death Punch should do a cover of Barry Manilows song Mandy.
I've liked a couple of other tracks I have heard from these guys but nothing or no one will save this song for me....I have never been a huge fan of Rush and this is probably one of my most disliked tunes by them (along side Red Barchetta)....I need to decompress a little bit after this one.....
one of the best Tom Sawyer covers ever. Everyone is top tier in the group.
These guys have been held so dear to me. I even named my son after the singer Elijah. I listened to them everyday growing up.

oh is that the kid in the turn back time video I think that was the song?
@@ShaneDiablo yes, that’s him with the guitar! Now he’s all growed up
@@ShaneDiablo He started playing guitar for Cher when he was 14. Gene Simmons of Kiss gave him his first guitar.
Qualifications for covering a Rush song:
1. Be Chers son
2. Be Gregg Allmans son
3. Saw waves
4. Have Alec Puro and Renn Hawkey in your band.
That Was Awesome!!!!

Look into the origin of the lead singer
