    The band have the raw concert footage ... they could have issued a revised version... this footage is brilliant... a way of head of their time .. sound visual ... amazing !

    Thanks so much for sharing that! What great footage. Must have been absolutely amazing to be there at the time when they were at the pinnacle of their success. Still looks and sounds great.

    I was at the Feb 11th 1984 concert back in Dallas and this is exactly how it was when they were biggest band on the planet! Like Led Zeppelin bootlegs, I wish someone had full concert of their 1984 on bootleg DVD!!! The As the lights go down, is not enough and they could have made it bluray! But to have a full concert of their 84 show, would be awesome as it was their best year ever! With all the camera's going at every show, someone had to have recorded it for bootleg sale... someone!

      +dherf4 Yeah, 1984 belonged to Duran Duran, no one now seem to understand how massive the band were, they did a gargantuan tour of the United States and Canada, Ive also got the DVD of As the lights go down, but there must be more footage then just this though, along with the Thompson Twins and Culture Club that year, but Duran Duran...Oh man...they were just the greatest band ever.

      @dherf4 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      yea, with all the shows they did in 84 and using the video camera, someone's got to have recorded the whole concert! If their are many bootlegs of Zeppelin, then someone's got to have Duran Duran 84! That was their highlight of their career!

      Admiral Ackbar What is funny is someone released a bootleg of the Oakland concert, the full concert before all that editing / cut and putting out the ARENA album. I have the actual recording with all the loud people, all the songs they played on as the lights go down, including , Reflex, Moon Monday, Rio and Girls on Film... the introduction, etc. I was fortunate to found it on Ebay and buy the CD. I have the Taylos' books and reading that period was awesesome!

    They were, as Simon has said, on top of the world back in 1984 during their Seven and the Ragged Tiger tour!

    This is amazing! I always wondered why there wasn’t more footage from these shows released other than bits in Sing Blue Silver and the heavily edited Arena. I was at the March 19, 1984 show at Madison Square Garden. I wish there was video of that show. People complain about the screaming but that was part of what happened then. It shows how mad crazy we were for them (and 40 years later still are😊). Obviously not like screaming teenagers but their core fans have supported them all these years Bc they have great songs and bring us to a happy carefree place. Duranies Rock On forever!

    Wow! If only we had a full show from back then completely LIVE! i.e. no tigers, waves, midgets, audio mixed etc I guess this is the nearest we'll ever get!
    Thanks for sharing!

    This was my first concert ever February 7, 1984 and thanks to whoever posted this video for bringing back one of the best memories in my life from that great night @ the then still named Fabulous Forum. Appropriately called since Rolling Stone Magazine had just dubbed Duran Duran as the Fab Five on the cover of that weeks' issue .

      Seven and the Ragged Tiger Deluxe Edition has the songs from this concert on it. I was stoked when I saw that.

    Simon is very guarded over the meaning of his lyrics but he did reveal that “Hungry Like the Wolf” refers to how hungry they were (like a wolf) to be on top of the world. They certainly achieved that goal in 1984.

    ohh great so you were at this concert. I've got a question, how the sound ( speakers ) played? I mean was it loud, good quality, bass enough as much as now a day concerts?

      Nonsense. They had something unique. 40 years kinda proves it.
