Literally the only vocals Floor can be beaten in is Growling, she can do it however ladies like Alissa and Tatiana are crazy good...but then they are nowhere near as good as Floor at every other vocal style. She really can sing just about anything...and blow you away while doing it.
Interesting, Metal is so much bigger and bombastic much like true Classical music, a powerful singer is required. The Pop stuff is just fluff. I don’t know what the Pop singers training is, but do know Tarja and Floor are classically trained. I think you would enjoy Kamelot & Arch Enemy (w/Alyssa White-Gluz), she’s the screamer at the end. Great vocal talent

Out of the bunch of pop singers Gaga is considered a Chameleon she can do every Genre she’s done rock, jazz, pop, the list goes on but I think you should check out those videos in full so maybe you can hear the entire voices of the performances (pop) & shallow is a Grammy, Oscar winning song she may have like Gaga or the song or both, and yes Adele is an icon her voice is out of the world.

The band there Kamelot, with Tommy Karevik singing, is good. But to hear him be given the opportunity to really show off his vocal flexes, you need to hear him with his previous (and technically still current) band, Seventh Wonder. Start with "Welcome to Mercy Falls", it is PHENOMENAL

I think the issue here is the video compares classically trained opera vocalists who apply their voices to metal, to singers performing pop songs. If Lady Gaga or Ariana trained for years to be opera singers, they could probably pull off those sounds too. Lady Gaga came pretty close in her Sound of Music performance, which she had about 3 months of practice for. All I'm saying is, there isn't some magic potion that metal singers drink to become more talented. It's a different skillset and trade, which ultimately leads to different vocal applications. On a side note, Floor Jansen is beyond human so it's not fair to compare anyone else to her.
To be honest I hate comparisons. There are so many differences in approach, performance, voice and underlying emotions that any comparison is actually not reasonable. Ultimately, it is the listener's taste that determines whether they like something or not. Everyone experiences music in their own way. So comparing, no I do not participate. At most you can indicate which artist appeals to your imagination and know to touch with his / her voice, or as a band, orchestra or choir in its entirety.😎

Im not sure if it is necessary to compare all of these. I mean Lady Gaga is an insane high quality artist. She got a good voice she got good song writing, she got insane performances on stage and also she is a great actor as well. For the vocals and the stage presence at Nightwish there is not much what can keep up with Floor. I dont think i need all these artist to be compared. If they'd cherry-pick the great pop singers as they did for metal and choose songs, performances, and specific moments, this would've been way more balanced. Tarja herself has said in the past that she chose to go into classical singing because she realized she would never be able to sing like Whitney Houston or Aretha Franklin.

Adele is put on a pedestal, because in the pop world, she's one of the few people who can actually sing. It's all perspective. When you grow up listening to people like Roy Khan, Floor Jansen, Russel Allen, and Simone Simons, she doesn't really stand out. Now if you grew up listening to Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Cardi B, etc, she does. I will say most of the pop choices on this video were good choices, as they're definitely the top echelon of pop singers. You're right though. They gave each one like a .10 second clip. Lady Gaga is a great singer, but it seemed like she had trouble with some consonants. Like she was mumbling through it. While floor annunciated each word perfectly. Not trying to say anything bad about Gaga. She is one of the best singers in American main stream. Her voice is great, but that annunciation wasn't that great.
