This is cool but that price might just stick with a Bluetti or something! That comes with a display and you can add another one in parallel to power more stuff. Maybe when they update it it'll be better, I'll just stick to my gas powered WEN generator that runs 1800w
I have this and 4 12.0 batteries to run my pellet stove if I loose power. Brought it to work the other day as I knew I didnt really want to spool out 175’ of lead cord to run my recovery machine and vacuum pump. Worked well, but for the weight and if I wasnt already invested in a ton of M18 stuff, a Honda 2000 watt inverter generator is lighter and a touch more powerful.
How long did you get it to run?
So, would you recommend it?
Only real issue I have with this is that strap should not be optional. It should come with it cause I guarantee you that strap cost about $30. And you should be able to use it while you charge it
Instead of cutting off the power to the charger, it should cut the power off to the batteries. Continue to charge the batteries while you use the power coming from the charger/extension cord
if this tool could take solar I'd be much more likely to look into it. As it if right now I think I'd look at a jackery or something similar. I want to be able to build an off grid cabin and since this requires shore power that's not going to work.
What would be the run time on running a corded palm sander or belt sander. For example I stain docks and a lot of the time it’s a pain to get a cord 700ft to the end to runs a corded palm sander and I don’t think the battery sands do enough for me.
Why wouldn't you just buy a çordless palm Sander

Wanted to pick this up, but won't. Here are my thoughts:
1) Doesn't scale out. Can't add more than 4 batteries to get more capacity
2) Doesn't scale down. Can't swap out batteries or borrow one with uninterrupted power.
3) Can't take solar. Can't leave this on site with a solar panel installed, or use it for an off grid cabin
4) Price is high with no batteries included. This should have a 4x12AH battery kit option for $1299
Short warranty… How bout battery warranty?
For that price i was expecting pass through and able to run off minimal 2 batteries at lower watts.
Without pass through you may as well just get a petrol generator and start it when you need it
Yea i already have a cheep portable 2 stroke for that it got it on sale for 80 bucks. And handles the portaband just fine thats what we did before cordless and i still do.
Was really looking forward to this but not being able to hot swap batteries or have pass- through power while charging is a hard no for me. Fix these major issues and I'll buy one.
Can't you just throw a splitter on before the generator? 5$ fix?
@Mark Armstrong Nope, you would still have power interruption when disconnecting and reconnecting to splitter.
This power supply, with 4 12Ah batteries, should have 48 Ah . Allowing for inefficiencies, consider 40-45. Saw a review where it ran a 15 amp heater for under 1/2 hour only. That would be 7.5 Ah. That of course is WAY below what should be around 3 hours, and 45 Ah of power. That is unbelievably inefficient. (Or is my math all wrong??!) Dec 22
Sounds like I should just buy a Honda generator instead. Seems like I can cord them together and get double the power 🤔???.
I think that's 48 amp-hour at 12 volts, so roughly 4.8 AH at 120 volts on output. It's storing only about 600 watts of power, so half hour run time on a 1500 watt heater sounds right.
Will it run my DeWalt tile saw and what happens if u use the forge batteries

It’s super weak, expensive, and poorly optioned coming late to a crowded field. I guess it’s better than their first attempt which was insultingly bad.

I have bought one of these units. Nobodies mentioned the fact, that the batteries run down all by themselves, if you want to get full use, you need to turn the unit off and on every time you use it every single cut or pull of the trigger. Yes you can get a lot of cuts but you must complete them instantly the moment you switch it on. The batteries will die while you wait between uses.

13amp? That's hilarious. That's a fully loaded out household circuit. If it could put it out, you'd get about 30 seconds of run time, and the $500 worth of batteries would be trashed. A gas powered washer is the correct tool.
EchoFlow is a much better option and it can take solar and it can pass through charge and , and .
I think that saying he wanted a recreational power supply is wrong. Milwaukee had the opportunity to make something awesome with the batteries that we are heavily invested in. these recreational power stations have better battery chemistry as well. Amazing recharge rates, higher output. Also more cost effective as well. One big downfall is that the battery chemistry that power tool manufacturers are using means battery replacement every three to 5 years. I'm not saying this out of nothing. I run a two man team, and almost all my batteries from Milwaukee, Makita, Dewalt, Metabo HPT show sign of out of balance charge. with limited charge cycles of 350 for these batteries, and the increase cost of the new forge batteries, it doesn't make financial sense to purchase this at 699 with no batteries, even if you have batteries. I've spent the last week considering long term cost of batteries and a power station that will recharge my multi platform use. so far I've settled for eco flow delta 2 max, with solar. Why, because while I'm working the power station will be charging via solar. I'm not going to be using the power station all the time, hence why using the cordless tools. but what I needed was to recharge those cordless tools without having to haul everything out of the trailer. And when I do need to use the power it's usually for a short period of time, such as table saw, ( which maybe a full day thing based on needs but this is mainly cordless too) bigger grinders, lights etc. take account for 4 12.0 batteries 4 of them will cost you 1000$ plus the 699 you already at 2k. consider paying the 2k and get something that is upgradeable. and use your existing limited life 12.0 batteries that go out of balance on the cordless tools that demand it. don't kill your batteries more. BTW the Eco delta 2 Max is 1899. that's 2048 whr, that's half the price of the new Power station Milwaukee is putting out. For equal to same power out and runtime. save that money buy the 6 basy chargers and go from there, also smaller form factor. I mean the powerstation will have 2.5 kwhr but still yes .5 khr but look at the size to power/ capability. I just don't see it. when dewalt came out with their power supply unit I was all over it but I couldn't get it. But they are too late to the game the cost should be much less in my opinion

If you gonna get a battery powered tool to charger your cordless tools it's kinda pointless. As far as tools you might as well just use those battery to power milwaukee tools, for the cost of this you can probably buy buy a power supply and a solar panel
