    I'd love to see an in-depth Chris Santacroce video examining the difference between Gliders optimized for free flight and Gliders optimized for PPG flight. I haven't found anything available that delves into this. Another great vid.

    I got the luckiest draw in the world I got to buy an epsilon 9. It's a big one and I weigh a ton so I'm flying right on the top of the weight range.The other pilot said I need to watch out for just stick in my arms on relying on the passive safety. They said that it would come out of some of these extreme maneuvers violently with a lot of energy to bleed off and bounced around and throw fits for a little while before it started to fly again. It's rated for a power paraglider situation so that 20 kg weight range really makes me feel a lot better to hear him say that. I don't want to use the speed bar for now anyway and I don't intend to use the brakes too much more so just for landing. You can't get a lock in spiral from turning if you don't use the brakes.

      @SuperFlyParaglidingSchool  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Mark - always feel the brakes to prevent surprise deflation. You CAN easily end up in a spiral inadvertently - be sure to watch our video on spirals.

    what you can feel... great tip... if you can do a test flight is the best way to check it out... one question...
    I use the 50% of range for my gliders... as I'm not a competition or a mega distance pilot it works most of the time...
    what rule do you use in your daily basis?

      same🤣 I'm always at the bottom of the weightrange. My next glider will probably be a miniwing so I can get a higher trimmspeed and manouverability😬

    I was thinking about emailing chris to ask almost this exact subject a few days ago! It's so confusing trying to figure out what size of wing to move to, or stay around the same, especially if you are willing to change brands, but don't have ready access to an instructor with different demo wings.

    I'm struggling to find one in the 280 weight range, but there's one that's 240 for a really good deal. If I just want to fly straight and level as a newbie, would that work?

    • @ChrisSantacroce
      @ChrisSantacroce 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh wow, you are in luck. The Gin Fuse 37 will be a dream for you. We know all about how well this flies at that weight because we fly the glider tandem at the exact same weight as you ( sometimes ). The weight range starts at 90 k g and goes all the way up to 190 kg. Holler if we can make it happen for you to try one. Nothing is more efficient, more stable or climbs better. We have a handful of guys who fly them at your same weight.

      They actually do sell wings that can lift tons of weight that are designed for tandem trike flying.
      Tucker Fort just did a video on this.
      My concern for someone your size would be fitting in the harness.
