Great instructional video, Mitch. Very good memories flying with you for this exact reason. I always learned something valuable from you. Thanks for sharing.
Fantastic video I learned so much, you explained trimmer positioning in a couple of minutes better than anyone that I can recall, do more on trimmers please. Describing the different wing types and what they do was very educational I greatly appreciate it. Keep it up I'll be there!
There is some one out there that has been doing this longer than you and they allready spend the time and money for you to find the best wing after buying and flying 100s of wings, his name is Dell Shanze and the best one is still the Dominator. It is that simple trust logic and expirience and the knowlege that has been learned from someone who has flown every wing in a critical mannor to honestly find the best one through trial and error and massive testing and for NO INTREST OF PROFIT like a glider company
Very good information Mitch, I appreciate your time and effort in doing it. Your kiting video you did some time back is one of, if not the best videos on kiting that I've seen, and I've watched a ton of them!
Great video, excited to hear about your thoughts on the Zorro... 👌🏻 Gin has a pretty good line up as well as Macpara they both seem to be relatively popular behind the ozone’s and dudek’s and they have decent resale values aswell
Nice talk mitch, I'm starting to think about my 2nd glider, will be an intermediate with probably more of that speed/safety combo, as i love aerial photography and XC, you covered this well for me, thanks!
Thanks Mitch for your influence on me a year ago on going with my second wing, the Dudek Universal 1.1. Would love to see the difference between it and a Report Air.
X-C-LENT VID! You've certainly done you're homework mate :-) I'll watch more of you're vids. BTW: good narration, you are easy to listen to, well done Sir!
Mitch, we speak a different language than the folks that were presenting PPG education of just a few years ago. A mistake I made, was attempting to expect my role authority dampened MacPara Charger, to perform like I expected it to (think Tucker's early snake videos cruising the corn fields and tree farms of west NJ). Still a pretty good wing for a new PPGer, but I honestly think that choice hindered me, as it would have anyone with considerable other (non PPG) flying experience. The problem was that no-one in the PPG community at that time was taking the time to articulate what exactly passive or excessive passive saftey was. I don't think their understanding had developed enough then. None the less that wing got me into the air for a year. Yet I would and still do highly recommend the Charger for new folks, but only people that are exposing themselves to thinking in 3D for the first time.
Yeah it's strange how some first time pilots naturally understand how the glider turns and how to stop oscillations. While other new pilots will pull the wrong brake at the wrong time and end up almost doing wingovers trying to stop oscillations. I guess it's a good thing we have very roll dampened gliders at least to learn on.
Good video. I'm going to make more than one comment. More response with the same amount of brake travel in more advanced wings is not just a factor of higher wing loading. Advanced wings have higher aspect ratio. That means shorter chord, and the deformation caused by brakes results in a higher percentage of the chord being deformed. Think of extremes to visualize this. If you had a 30:1 AR, pulling brakes would deform most of the chord.
Hello @Mitch G very informative video. U have definitely helped me to clear doubts abt Wings. I would like to make request to make a special video for warp 16 dudek abt trims , tricks handling, break and Takeoff tricks and safety. Also ur inputs with full review
Since I subscribe, I have started to take a look on your older videos. I would like to know your take on Hadron 3 and also XX in regards to your circles ( Speed / Efficiency / Safety ) . I'm asking all this because I fly now the H3 , and I was hitting some very nasty turbulence, wing was jittering very fast and couple of times change it's direction about 20 to 30 degrees, however I found it somehow safe and didn't scared me much. Trimmers was all close. On the other hand , I have far more than 100 hours on H XX , and every time I was hit by turbulence that was over my comfort level, I was engaging the flaps and everything was ok for me . While H3 is very roll stable compared to H XX , it doesn't have that flaps that I so much love to use. I'm on lightweight side of both wings. 105 kg on 20m . Many thanks and all the best to you !
I also enjoyed the flaps on the hadxx but I think the h3 is a better wing overall for most people. But if you liked the flap system and you can find a hadxx in good condition, I'd buy it! As far as speed efficiency and safety, I think the h3 is slightly more safe than the hadxx because of the roll stability and simplified risers but speed and efficiency are probably very close
Great video Mitch my first wing is a dudek Universal 1.1 i know you have flown one what do you think of them and what category would you put it , just beginner or beginner intermediate.
I haven't flown paramotor yet but I plan on going to training someday. I do have a little bit of skydiving experience tho. In skydiving it's common to stay with the same wing and just downsize. Is that a thing in paramotoring or do people usually just get a higher performance wing?
I have not seeing much videos about a 2ez lift size 27 am a heavy guy with a trike and would love to have your opinion on this wing hope you get around to it thanks.
I have one short flight and some kiting with a lift ez-r. Same glider with different risers. It's in the same class as a dudek universal or ozone roadster. It's more roll stable (requires lots of brake to turn) than its peers so better for early beginner flights. Its slightly less efficient than a universal, Less aspect ratio and fewer cells but it's not a big enough difference for a new pilot to notice. It's an ok choice for a first wing especially if you can buy one for less than its competitors. If you decide to buy a lift ez, I would buy the ez-r because it's the same glider but with more room to grow as your skills progress
It would be helpful to know how long you've been flying paramotors and how many wings you've flown. Are you like a 10 year plus pilot or ??? Are you a trainer and if so, with what training group? Just trying to know your expertise level. For example, I'm a 15 year pilot and I've flown about 30 wings now. I'm not a trainer and I don't represent any wing company. Thank you.
As of today, Ive been flying paramotors for 5 years and Ive flown maybe 15-20 different wings (just an estimate) I offer training but I don't advertise it. Im not affiliated with any company. Ive been flying other aircraft for many years before paramotors and I fly for a living.
Mitch, I am considering buying Sky Cima Pwr for SIV course but now interested in Zorrow too. When you make a review on zorrow, can you tell the passive safety margin compare to a wing like warp and is it good for SIV.. thanks in advance Mitch, much appreciate your videos.
I'll talk about it in my upcoming zorrow review. The cima pwr will be much better for siv. The zorrow wont handle stalls like a traditional pg airfoil. Zorrow has more passive safety than the warp but not as much as a cima pwr
Best depends on the person. Dudek Universal is my personal favorite beginner wing because it has tons of room to grow with, so much potential. Ozone spyder is super easy to launch with the light weight fabric. Apco, ez lift r. a solid beginner wing.
The problem is that in the intermediate stage, I would like to have a fast wing for solo travel. But at the same time, I would like to start tandem flights. Is there a one wing solution? I'm 70 kg. My passengers are 50-80 kg.
Hey mitch.. great review.. I'm torn between nuc xx or hadron 1.1 I have flown 5 other wings started on Revo 1 Uni 25 to small so got Uni28 loved it but not agile enough Hadron xx managed 8 hours realised to advanced Ozone spyder currently Some selection but I think I know the pilot I want to be now .. and nuc or hadron appeals .. but I cant find any great reviews on Hadron 1.1 .. any advice .
Pick the wing that has the features you like first. The nucxx has power attack if you want to play with speedbar and slalom style. If you like xc more then go 1.1. Then pick the size. The smaller you go the more agile it will be but the faster you will need to run on takeoff.
Out of 1000s of gliders, the Dominator is the best one in all catagories including saftey, stability ,speed (at a small size), perfomace, glide ratio, overall lift/suface area, longevity, stall resistance and collapse recovery, (it is a class A certified glider!)
Your statement is so far from true. Thats not how science works. There isnt an airfoil that exist that is the most stable and the fastest and the most forgiving at stalls. If that did exist, it would be on every aircraft in the world. The truth is you have been fooled by a con artist for your money.
@@MitchG you say that and i bet you have never flown a flat top+dominator, it is truly the best gear and i couldnt be happier, now im just trying to expose the lies and make it known because youneed to try it!
@@MitchG the fact that you call it a "paramotor wing" in your title shows your incompitence, it is called a Paraglider! Just because you have it hooked into a motor doesnt change what it is.

185lbs so probably around 115kg all up with a motor. You could fly a 25.5m or a 28m. If you are a little under 115kg all up weight then get the 25m if you weight yourself with gear and are over 115kg then the the 28m. The 25 will give better handling but you will have to run faster on takeoff.
Mitch G Thank you for your input, been ground handling a old ozone 22 m Indy wing and been up twice tandem, have some really generous instructors for free training, the wing is ordered and on its way can’t wait to get into the sky for some epic flights. Dell did not watch videos about the differnt wings, he bought them, and tested them in the air, then moved on the the next wing, it has allready been figured out for you. He actually has a $5000 reward for anyone who can make or find a better wing than the Dominator (safety speed, efficiency). Fly a Dominator you will be impressed, im in colorado ill let you borrow mine!
I've only flown a 23 Universal about 10-15kg over the top and I've got 3yrs on it. I want to do the right thing and get an intermediate in my proper weight range, but I'm afraid it won't feel like much of an upgrade. Any thought? Anyone have same experience?
I still recommend an intermediate wing or a easier hot wing like a snake 1.2. Since you are used to higher wing loadings, just get a smaller size intermediate wing as well.
Wow....the attitude of Dell and his apostles really turns me off. I don;t know if the Dominator wing is good or not, but the attitude of its champions reads to me like a religious fanatic sect...not actual fact based on unbiased research. Dell could be 100% right if the data came in, but his personality doesn't reflect 'professional' nor makes me want to trust him. Again, seems like a cult.
