Much respect to Shaykh Yasir Qadhi and Shaykh Abdullah bin Hamid Ali for this fascinating discussion. I love this ecumenical and intelligent approach to theological differences.
This was great, mashaAllah. The point about some variants of Ashari being closer to some variants of Athari aqeedah. People who think that Ahl us sunnah wal Jamaah are only from Ashari or Maturidi (and only reluctantly include the "righteous Hanabilah") should see this. I hope that more people from the "traditional Islam" perspective would see this and share the love with someone like Sh Yasir Qadhi.
Good discussion. But the reason for standing up for the truth is not to make a direct change but to encourage others to also stand up for the truth. A domino effect can cause the direct change that we all wish to happen. Via that logic which you both used, what was the point of the Sahabi who gave half a date as charity for the battle? In reality will it make a direct change? No. But as muslims we are not materialist.
Alhumdulilah, I appreciate Ustadh Ali's series. I would ask that he be cognizant of constant micro-interruptions in his interviews. By saying "ummhmm" and "yeah" constantly, it makes it difficult to clearly hear and understand the people he interviews. Although this is supposed to be a "conversation", in reality he must study how effective online/podcast interviews are conducted in order to increase the quality and effectiveness of this channel. May we all strive constantly to improve and reflect ihsān in all that we attempt. Lastly, to highlight the roles of our mothers, wives, and sisters should be central, not apologized for. If we don't recognize and acknowledge, we are doing a grave, grave disservice. They are the backbone and honor of our homes and our families. Without them we could not do what we are doing

"The narrative has holes in it" - Yasir Qadhi
Asalamulykum, there’s context behind what he says , as Muslims we should assume best of our brothers
