"Hey [Friend's Name], just watched your Dimir Death Shadow deck video - seriously impressive! Managing to pull off those plays in Mississippi's heat and humidity adds another level of skill. Keep crushing it, looking forward to more content!"
Oh man, paper tips are the best. "Trampling over for how much?", "Oh yeah, shadow is just a 2/2 (wraith in hand against the bolt deck)", draw and immediately go to attacks to bluff the tbr. There's a whole world of them.
Good question. Usually sitting at a 4/5, occasionally a 5/6. Only 5 card types in the deck though, so could always experiment with something like dress down. But at the moment, Phlage is the only card out there that actually makes me care about getting them any bigger.
Played it once, wasn't impressed. Planning to circle back around this week and try it out some more, I've just been really liking hammering down this Tamiyo list. Certainly doesn't mean the frog is a bust, just haven't missed it yet.
Can you clarify what you mean at 23:00? After you declare no blocks and pass priority, doesn't your opponent move to the assign damage part of combat, at which point you can't put anything on the stack?
Close, but not quite. Blockers are declared at the very beginning of the blocker step, so declaring that you don't have any blockers isn't passing priority to damage, it's moving to their priority opportunity during the declare blockers step. Then they, as the active player, get a chance to cast spells or use abilities in the blocker step before moving to damage, and you get a priority opportunity to act. Then at THAT point, if you pass priority, it moves to damage. So declaring blockers isn't the actual priority exchange during that step, it's more of a special action that doesn't use the stack or priority.
@@thecntrlfreak1347 Good to know. I wonder how many games I've thrown away due to not knowing this lol. Big shadow fan and just discovered your channel and have been enjoying the game play. Just bought the cards from your previous video to bring to fnm. Hoping to see you try out that recent top 8 deck that uses frogs instead of goyfs.
Greatly interesting run, but the last match: Nadu slaying when nadu deck draws like shit is ez, most good decks can do it lol. I duno, i play 4 veils of summer in my Nadu SBs, most nadu players seem to not play more than 1 or 2
I agree, but I'm also 9-2 right now in the nadu matchup, so I wouldn't call it insignificant. It's certainly not a bye, but we do have all of the good tools to fight against it.
Not particularly. Usually if you're able to flip the first, you don't need a second. And if you aren't, then it's probably a matchup you don't want tamiyo in to begin with.
Short answer, it just hasn't been killing anything I care about killing. And with 4 counterspell, stub, and some number of drown, I haven't really cared about the one ring.
I'd say there's always a place if you want it. If it were my recommendation, I'd be looking at drown, force, and 3rd tamiyo as potential cuts for the bowman. Or the wraiths and add another land if you're less interested in flipping Tomato.

The Mississippi heat is definitely a much bigger deal inside with the AC on.
Great content, I love the shadow decks. I could watch you all day.
I appreciate that! Means a lot.
Thank you. I am considering grixis. DRC and expressive iteration are tempting.
They're both very good cards for sure. Personally, I don't feel those solve the matchups I'm having issues with, but I don't see them hurting either.
Went into your Twitch stream not too long ago and asked a million questions- I am really loving these videos as I relax before I go on vacation :)
Yo! Thanks so much for stopping by. Always love having more questions, makes it way easier to keep the dead air time away haha.
Gonna need a video full of Mike's Paper Tips! Great job on this, bud!

Love Dimir Shadow. Just bought goyfs and tamiyos. Thank you based cntrlfreak.
Definitely hope the deck serves you well. Tamiyo has been my absolute favorite card out of MH3, not even close.
Opened a Tamiyo. Sold it to buy a goyf, and then they switched prices ;-; currently trying to cope myself into a build without her
I like frog. You play frog now. Frog go ribbit.
Oh no it's the Shadow Algo gang gang
Algo Algo Algo

Enjoying the sun here in Belgium too 😎
Hopefully y'all aren't part of any of those heat waves across the pond.
@@thecntrlfreak1347 no, just few days of sun before the rain comes back 😭
How big are the goyfs getting usually? Feels like they dont get much over 4 or 5, i think sometimes i would still want murktide

Bro,a buddy of mine that hasn't played in like 15 years saw Nadu and knew it was busted lmao
I mean... It's just a littleeee insane
Are you going to work on more of the nulldrifter build at all?
I will, but it might not be until I stop wanting to jam this tamiyo build every day. Gotta ride the hot hand sometimes.
No psychic frog?

If everyone of us subscribers donate 1 dollar, we could buy this man an air conditioner
🤣 That's pretty hilarious. I've got AC, just takes a bit to get rolling when you have an unexpected heat wave.
Mike. You need to start rocking more boats.
Boats are pretty expensive... But maybe I can rock like a small office chair?
tamiyo still a 1 mana planeswalker
That she is, some would argue the best 1 mana planeswalker. Sorry Kytheon.

Not particularly. Usually if you're able to flip the first, you don't need a second. And if you aren't, then it's probably a matchup you don't want tamiyo in to begin with.
Why no more orcish bowmasters?
