    Dear Enneagram 1s,
    You are amazing, hard working, influential, natural leaders, and thoughtful (so so thoughtful) as you think out everything so deeply. You are great advice givers. You are world changers and difference makers. You do the work others don't want to. You care about the little things and the people who often go unnoticed. You speak out for the oppressed, standing up for what is right. You are honest and truthful. You are fun. Yes fun! When you are in good health you are a joy to be around. You might correct and perfect but its only because you see the potential in things. You love so big in your own ways. You are the first to take up responsibility and do it with little compliant. You are a stable person in other people's lives and a friend people can count on. You change the world by improving the small things. Because the small things often turn out to be the big things. We love you ones! Thank you for making the world a more safe, effective, strong and beautiful place.
    Love,
    An Enneagram 2

    These are actually amazing. I'm a 1 and I can not tell you how sick I am of "ones are the clean perfectionists" and they care about little details of everything and they always follow the rules" which just makes us sound like rigid freaks. I break rules all the time if I think they're stupid and I like things being clean and tidy but not a whole lot more than anyone else. I really appreciate how you stick to the core motivations and what it actually means to be a 1 - the inner critic, the struggle with anger, the passion for our own sense of justice etc. Rather than the little behavioural things that we don't all display like being a neat freak or loving lists and having post-its everywhere. Absolutely nailed it in a really fair and objective way - just like how us ones like it. Can't wait for more videos :)

    • @hazel3390
      @hazel3390 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@shockingheaven yeah he's generally typed in the community as a 6w5 [because it's ultimately his indecision that kills him and 1s are much more sure of their own opinions] but it's his fixation with *moral* philosophy that makes him very relatable to us 1s (:

    • @makennadecapua6207
      @makennadecapua6207 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      As a one, I 100% agree that Chidi is a one. Ones (like myself) can be very indecisive and hyper fixated on making the “right” decision (even though, as we figure out in growth, that there is no right decision in life). He literally spends his life learning about right and wrong. He’s the epitome of a self preservation one paralyzed by wanting to be “right” or “good”. To those who say he is a 6, SP ones can mistype as 6 and Vice versa🤷🏻‍♀️. To me, it seems like his fear is more out of whether his decision will make him a good or bad person (which puts a ton of weight on that decision). Being fearful doesn’t automatically make him a 6.
      Also, Eleanor is definitely a seven and they tend to play off of each other just like any one-seven pairing

I've seen similar videos where people try and use comic book characters or super hero comparing them with Enneagram numbers where it was clear that the person really didn't know enough about these characters to make such easements. I used to think I was a 7, but I'm 100% a Self Pres. 1. I feel the need to become perfect. Growing up I was told so many things about my family that I consider bad. My whole family are recovering drug users and alcoholics and I feel the need to be perfect. However not for them, I've never been the academic student that can maintain perfect grades for my family rather I do it for myself. I want to prove that I'm not like them to myself. I want to become a lawyer and make a change in the system I see as corrupt or imperfect. However out of the need for control due to my past mistakes I decided to take control of my impulses and compulses. I won't become an addict even with my addictive personality because of the control I maintain. But since all this I've made a lot of self growth. I've gained the ability to accept the lack of control and lack of perfections. Right now what I seek is to live a life of bbalance.I've accepted perfections don't exist and I can't make everything perfect.

    This video is so good, it has me, a 9w1, questioning if I am really a 1 instead. Good job. I am subscribing so I can hopefully see your video on 9s... judging from the time in between uploads... in 3 years. I'm kidding.
    There is some truth to that, isn't there? Haha 😉 Great video!!

    as an INFJ 1w2 i feel very out of place in what seems like a world of 7s and 4s, but this video was unexpectedly cathartic. thank you (:

    I'm so glad he's going in depth, I just really wish he had already done it. But honestly I'm glad I found it now, because now I have to go at a reasonable pase and digest all of them in order instead of rushing through.

    Please please please, continue this series! I assume it’s not dead, I’m just worried because this video hasn’t gotten that many views. I love the editing because I get to be reminded of how many awesome movies there are. I also like learning more about the enneagram. Can’t wait for the next video.

    This is a brilliant video, from the information you highlight to the music and characters you choose. I've watched/listened to it many times. It has been among the most significant resources in my journey of Enneagram discovery, and it convinced me that I am indeed a type 1 (a rather extreme one at that).

    Good video. A few corrections, though:
    1. Judge Frollo is a social subtype. The description of so1 fits him better. Take a look at sx1 and so1 by Naranjo or Beatrice Chestnut. Typing judge Frollo as sx1 is misunderstanding of sx and so types or him as a character. A way to see the diffrence between a sp/so/sx 1:
    Sp1: "I must be better"
    So1: "the people around me and I must be better"
    Sx1: "the people around me must be better"
    2. Dolores Ambrige is a so2. A very common mistype. Again, take a look at so2 by Naranjo. A way to check: 1 disintegrates into 4, 2 disintegrates into 8. Dolores Ambrige shows no traits of so4, but alot of so8 (being dominating, powerhungry, getting things only her way)
    3. Joker from 2012 Batman is sx 4. Again, read Naranjo. Sx4 motto is: "I suffer, so I will make you suffer too". He is jealous of people of Gotham, and wants to bring up the worst in them. Sx7 are more focused on escaping negative feelings
    4. Batman is a sp1. I am not even going to comment - read the book
    The video is nicely edited and narrated, but it has mistakes in understanding of enneagram and in character analysis. This kind of shallow analysis spreads misinformation and undermines the complexity and beauty of psychology behind typing sistems

    Loved the video, can't wait to see more! But I feel like Tony is more of an 8 than a 7. He's so afraid of weakness that he literally builds a suit of armor around himself and tries to build one around the world (Ultron). And he follows the 8 arrows: when he's unhealthy he becomes secretive and fearful like a 5, and when he's healthy he becomes more caring like a 2. Just my thoughts though!

      This is actually a very interesting take on Tony and I'm tempted to agree with you actually. But he could also be a disintegrating 7 who moves towards 1. 8s follow rules, Tony enjoys breaking them (7). Just my thoughts

    • @Jordan-pl9ys
      @Jordan-pl9ys 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@bettymbuyi6246 Thanks! I have to disagree about 8s following the rules though. 8s--known as "the challengers"--are assertive contrarians who test people and systems, because their core fear is being weak and controlled by others. So they definitely don't follow other people's rules when they don't want to. Healthier 8s are fierce protectors for their loved ones and anyone they perceive to be weak. To me that sounds way more like Tony than the description for 7s, who are versatile, optimistic, and mostly just looking to have a good time. Source: www.enneagraminstitute.com/type-8

    @14:11 Another interesting thing here to keep in mind is that Captain America and Iron Man have opposite MBTIs, the former being ISFJ and the latter being ENTP. So it’s not just a clash of core enneagram motivations, but also how they perceive and judge the world. Massive growth opportunities for both heroes (but not without a lot of conflict and friction between them understandably)

    This is absolutely BRILLIANT and I can't wait for the rest of the series. Only thing is that you mention how 1s integrate towards 7 which is correct, however you also mention that 7s integrate towards 1 which isn't correct. 7s disintegrate towards 1 and integrate towards 5. However, that's not all that important for this video as the focus is on the 1 types anyways which you did an excellent job at explaining. I thoroughly enjoyed this video and so did my Reformer type 1 husband.

    Heyy Josh! Nearly finished with this video, and got to say this is a great follow up to your introduction video! I can definitely say I have a bit of Reformer in me somewhere, although whether I connect more with a 7 or 4 is where I'd get conflicted lol. 😂
    Great examples used here though! 😍
