Our Broken Tarp Arms Are Fixed (Dumpster Trailer)

Finally the tarp arm saga is over. Next we need to build a taller frame for the tarp system to sit on so that it covers the top of the dumpster more easily.

I still get teary eyed 6:27 when I see the greens being dumped. I just feel sorry for them that they end up that way.And it looks like a beautiful suculent plant was destroyed at well 6:25. Sad

on our trailer I alway start raising the dumpster before I hook the chain

Have your future dumpsters produced with the chain attachment point on the side/middle of the dumpster. Somewhere above the tarp arm obviously so you can attach it with a much shorter chain. Having so much slack in your chain could cause the door to slam and pop the chain, which could lead to damaging the dumpster or even worse injuring a person or their equipment beside you.

How long are your 20yd cans?
I would look at welding a new chain hook up a bit higher , just under the side taper and above the tarp arm.

😵 Definitely not a good spot to break your tarp arm. I've bent the upper portion plenty of times now, but breaking the lower portion sounds like it would be a bit more expensive of a fix.

Is the mass on your tarping system adjustable

No it was bolted at a lower height. We recently had a shelf welded to move it up higher. Works great for our main size 20 yard.
