I have a 07 Tahoe LS 5.3 l without the existing trans cooler. The 40K cooler comes with one hose. Make sure you have a 2nd long rubber transmission cooling hose! I was about to start taking my car apart but double checking all my stuff,i need 1 more long hose! 👍 I brought 1 gallon of trans fluid too.
Gracias. I was gonna pay $75 for a bracket to mount my 40K on, but I like how you cut the original bracket and flipped it upside down. I'm gonna do that on mine. I am gonna bypass the radiator cooler as well like you did since i run a 3000 stall and my temps keep getting over 200 even with the stock tow package front cooler (it's tiny).
The fittings on the bottom are inverted flare. No ptfe tape required. In fact it's worse if it gets into the sealing surface. Just a dot of motor oil on the threads so they dont strip and send it home.
Does it matter if inlet and outlet ports on cooler are facing downward? My ford expedition transmission was overhauled and mechainic installed transmission cooler with ports facing down like yours. One youtubes explains if ports are facing downward fluid will not reach all the way to the top only 50% cooler will be utilized., but if place with ports facing to the side, all fins will be filled with transmission fluid. Most of the time it doesn't matter. I had to do mine facing down due to the space I was working with. It works just fine. There should be enough pressure in the cooler lines where it doesn't matter. as long as your temps are good. (less then like 160 normal driving, you're fine)

Haha I know that feeling bro when I just washed my truck and polished the chrome wheels and like 2 days later it rains unexpectedly and they get dirty and I have to wash them again lol

Thanks brotha. It’ll work. You just won’t know what temperature your truck will be at. Nothing different than how it is now.
Nice job what's the reason to take it out of the radiator? Wouldn't it cool more running through radiator then trans cooler
It’s Heated by ambient coolant temp the external one will keep it about 140 compared to the 210 the radiator gets
It’s completely disconnected from the radiator, it’s supposed to be hooked up to the radiator too
You should look into getting your wheels ceramic coated. Less struggle with water spots from rain

Did you guys have to put a spacer to clear the power steering radiator bracket bolt?
The two holes wont leak where u disconnected from the radiator?
How did you splice the lines bro?

What benefits do you get from upgrading the cooler want to do the same to mine
It keeps your trans cool. It makes a huge difference in temp, especially if you have a 4l60 without the stock cooler.

@@essinnocents7125 plug and play. This doesn’t mess with the computer or anything so no tuning needed.
