    Little story from my childhood. When I was 12 we were playing hide and seek at the summer camp. I came there with a whole bunch of red and yellow rubber bands around my arms and legs and a green rain coat. They made fun of me, but after I found a hiding spot and attached grass to my rain coat and legs thanks to the rubber bands they couldn't find me. In the end everyone was searching for me shouting my name because they thought something had happened to me. Before that they had walked past me 3 times before that.

    Additional tip to add texture to your leaves when drying them: add poker chips or some other similar item to the tumble phase. This is the same method they use to age money when creating counterfeit bills. It will give the leaves FAR more wear and should rough them up quite a lot.

    That "needle" is for doing textured cross stitching. Go to anywhere that sells knitting, crocheting, sewing supplies and you will find all different sizes of those. Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Target, and many more stores sell them in the U.S. and Canada.

    • @andrewmargan5677
      @andrewmargan5677 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The boilie needle is for carp fishing and attaching a hair rig to the boilie bait. The bait is called boilie, because you boil it to harden the outer shell. It is also pronounced boy-lee. Not bol-lee.

    • @seangere9698
      @seangere9698 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@andrewmargan5677 Yes I know for that particular one is a boilie needle and what it's used for. I ment that you can get ones exactly like that, well the loop and catch part but it will just have a long and straight thin handle. They are used in cross stitching to add loops to the top of the pattern where when finished you cut the loop in half and fluff it up. I think that's how it's done I have not done it myself but I have seen it done a few times as a kid but that was many many years ago.

    One thing I use to adjust the camo colors on gear I use is to use a small paint brush or even a spray bottle to spray on a mix of liquid Rit dye. It works well and should take a couple of applications to get it just right. I use dark green and dark brown similar to what you see in USMC Marpat or Russian Digital Flora EMR. Keep in mind that I play in NW Florida.

    First I know this is an old video and possibly someone has already answered one of the question in the video regarding the boilie needle. From the logo on the packaging I can tell it is from the Nash Tackle Company. Nash has been around a long time, a great company with humble beginnings which started in Essex many moons ago. Sorry I am late to the show. Excellent ghillie crafting knowledge, thank you for sharing Stang!

    The needle you are referring you is often referred to in the US and Canada as a "rug hooking needle". You can find them at craft stores, but I usually gab them used from SOS stores, Salvation Army, or any charity store for about $.50 cents or a $1.00 or so. I make my own tracker style togs using dive netting. as a base, and cut them to fit. Thanks for the great video. :)

    fyi, with the micro tagger if you push through the suit and the leaf and then back through the leaf again up to 2 times they will not come off easily as they would only using a single pass, stitching them in with the micro tagger if you will. Been doing this for years.
