Use traps you unlock right away, and the mimog goes nowhere. They just dangle and I take advantage of that to weaken and capture them because when you butcher them you get a good amount of gold coins
I would recommend using assault rifle with proper attack build, so hopefully clearing it in ~30 shots. But if doing with default settings, i would settle down setting a route of scrap piles, and each respawn hit them all in a trip. I would recommend farming mimogs only with extra configuration like 3 spawn rate, 2x drops and Katress. This way, ive been getting ~300 coins per set of mimogs, i think maybe one appearance every 10~15 minutes looking in the desert area of Sakurajima

Hey, since you helped with that, I will provide a tip you might like. I decided to call it 'mountain surfing' and I've yet to see it covered on any channel. It is handy when you need to scale a very high mountain with a flying mount when your stamina is limited, especially with large mountains such as Obsidian. You start off by getting your mount into 'flying mode' right next to a steep slope on the mountain. Next, you just simply push your Pal into the slope without pressing the ascend button. When you do so, the physics of the slope will push your mount upward as you go forward. Not only will you go up faster than you would from manually ascending, but you will also save on stamina and can go for much longer. This is best suited for smooth slopes but can be done with rocky slopes as well. You will need to tap the ascend button from time to time with the rocky slopes, though.
I had one that just kept on spamming jump of all things. It would zig zag and then hop up into the air and back down like it was zig zagging vertically. They're such weird little dudes.

The desolate church has the scrap piles spread out everywhere to and best of all it is near a fast travel point so you can reset spawns.
