Hey everyone, in this video of clinical examination I introduce the physics behind a normal, palpable apical impulse…it is quite fascinating! The pathologic precordial impulses will be dealt with in another video. Stay tuned!

Mechanism of palpable apical impulse: diagram shows hear in parasagittal plane, left part of the diagram faces anterior direction.
