Cardiology and Beyond
India
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 9 เม.ย. 2020
Hi I'm Dr. Sonali, an interventional cardiologist from India.
My channel "Cardiology and Beyond" is for anyone who's interested in learning about the fascinating world of cardiology!
It includes the words "and Beyond" for a certain reason. There are thousands of amazing videos online explaining the basics of cardiac anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology...however I have discovered that they do not go beyond that. There is a need to tie-in the basic foundation of cardiology with real world patients in clinical practice.
My aim is to do just that with the use of case based scenarios and clinical applicability of basic concepts. Also, I teach extensively with the help of two main pillars of effective studying: 1. Active recall 2. Mind mapping
I hope you enjoy my channel. Have a nice day!

Arterial pulse - part 2
Hey, in this video I shall be going into greater details of the factors that contribute to production of the arterial pulse. Enjoy!
❓ Active recall questions:
1. What determines the rise in aortic pressure during systole?
2. How does increased age affect aortic compliance?
3. What determines momentum to the ejecting blood in systole?
4. What is the effect of stroke volume on amplitude of pressure pulse?
5. What factors affect velocity of ejection?
6. What factors determine the impedance to ejection?
7. How does the level of peripheral resistance affect the amplitude of pressure pulse wave?

Best Video about PCWP!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Packing a lot of punch, thanks for sharing you knowledge. How ever please review on the Dicrotic notch. When measure in aorta, aortic valve closure causes a sudden pressure increase, creating a sharp notch called incisura. Further down the arterial tree, incisura disappears and reflected waves replace it called Dicrotic notch. see: Valve origin of the aortic incisura, H N Sabbah, P D Stein, Am J Cardiol. 1978 Jan.
amazing
Nice work Dr Sonali

Simplified description of a very complex subject ! Thank you madam. I have one doubt - is it PCWP / LV gradient or PCWP/ LVEDP?
Plsss upload more videos u explain in deep way that's rare to find pls continue u gonna help us a lot as medical students
Thank God for the Indians. They are the last people who understand cath hemodynamics.
