I currently own 2 Mapex kits. A Mapex Meridian birch and an Armory. Both sound and look totally pro and are built very well. The Armory is hands down the best value in a drum kit. I put Remo clear Empowers on top Tom heads and a Remo powerstroke on the bass batter side. The 7x8 Tom has a clear ambassador. These drums tune up beautifully and stay in tune. I will record with them. When I get a 3 rd kit it will be an evolution or Black Panther design lab kit. I also own 6 Mapex snares. You cannot go wrong with Mapex.
