My fave part of this is so subtle. Lazarus is so deep in character that he is confused by the follow up question "What do you mean, you people?" "Huh?"
for me, I never watched this with subtitles back in the day, so I never noticed him saying "look at them beady white devil eyes" like his character doesn't have the most piercing blue eyes and blonde hair under the makeup 😭😭😭😭
Tropic Thunder is one of the greatest comedies ever made. Shame it could not be made today. Im so glad I have this on bluray. Now they need to release DOGMA!
I mean even black people were commenting on how good of a black person he played. The voice, the mannerisms. It was comedic takes like this one that reminded them that he's a white actor.
Ben Stiller says "you people" which can often be considered racist towards black people and other minorities and RDJ, who's a white Australian actor in this movie wearing black face takes offense.
@@TheLostOnCloud9 RDJ’s character is also meant to be a parody of method actors meaning actors who go overboard in being too dedicated and intense when playing a character and that’s who Kirk Lazarus represents
He's a "method actor" parody. Those kinds of actors research the role and take it so seriously that they actually try to become the role and rarely get out of character. Some will stay in character in between shoots and takes. Some will stay in character for the entire day, go to sleep, then go into character shortly after they wakeup. As noted in the beginning of the movie, he doesn't even break role until after the commentary is added to the DVD. And the funny part here is that RDJ does do the voice during the DVD commentary for this movie.
@ that phase don’t only apply to one race. They use it for many other races also. Whats dense is that you think that racism only belongs to one Race and it only happens to one Race as well 🤦🏽♂️

Finally!!!! Like most missed that joke. He thought the other question was supporting his own question 😀😀😀😀😀

Yep. That's the funniest part
That first "HUH!" right before RDJ says "what do you mean..." part kills me everytime! lmao 🤣
Same! 😂😂 I absolutely lose it
Easily my favorite part. That sound he makes is so spot on for old heads
Yeah the break in comedy is so good :D
"I don't leave character until the commentary is done" 🤣🤣🤣
Being caught up in the "what do you mean you people", I missed that he follows up with " look at his eyes man, them beedy white lil eyes"
“White devil eyes.”
Tell em Makluscky, tell em what time it is!
Funniest part is that the actual black person didn't even feel offended by "you people" statement.
That's how you can really tell Lazarus is a white actor.
@@GarrettJayChristian
RDJ is of Jewish descend . His father is Jewish and his mother white
@vikmixedandproudconservati2095 But Kirk Lazarus is an [unnaturally] blonde, blue-eyed Australian...
" WE LOST, WE FUCKING SUPER LOST MAN" is so perfect, man RDJ really killed this role lolol
....tell im mclasky..tell im what time it is!
"Enough of this insubordination, if the machine breaks down, we break down".
Tropic Thunder is one of the greatest comedies ever made. Shame it could not be made today. Im so glad I have this on bluray. Now they need to release DOGMA!
why could it not be made today?? to many sensitive people?
some reactors got it, and some didn't!
I can’t believe Robert Downey Jr. earned an Oscar nomination in this movie!
Well he was amazing in the role.
I mean even black people were commenting on how good of a black person he played. The voice, the mannerisms. It was comedic takes like this one that reminded them that he's a white actor.
That was one of the funniest scenes of the movie.
that IS the funniest scene in the movie..
I hope we can get back to entertainment like this. It’s hilarious to see people discovering this amazing movie.
All other reactors: 😂😂😂😂😂
Reelin' with Asia and BJ: 😐😐😐😐😐
"Look at his eyes man" gets me every time
"Huh!?"
I think what he meant to say was , “what do YOU mean, what do you MEAN, you people?!” 🤦♂️
Lmao they didn't laugh like I laughed...I feel some of them were even confused by the 'you people' part 😂😂😂
vibing with the 'you' people
It’s so funny that RDJ thinks he’s black in this role.
Also RDJ’s character keeps getting Sandusky’s name wrong!
Hey, from what war movie the name "Macluschy" actually was? I'm sure i heard it somewhere.
@stankek7030, Something with Pitt and Dicaprio, I think. Oh, never mind.
Mark McCluskey is the corrupt police captain in The Godfather.
@@julioareck No, it was a war movie. Forrest Gump or Full Metal Jacket maybe, something like that.
Awesome scene.
He's a dude playing a dude disguised as another dude.
His name is not McClusky. Lol
3rd guys is having a stroke 😢
What's the joke referring too? I feel so dumb :(
Ben Stiller says "you people" which can often be considered racist towards black people and other minorities and RDJ, who's a white Australian actor in this movie wearing black face takes offense.
@@ReactTV1 I understand now. Thank you, and keep up the videos!!

Anyone ever watch North Country?
What does RDJ mean by "you people"? He's not even black.

This scene is funny but at the same time it is so stupid to think it’s racist when someone uses that phrase and it only applies to one group of people
It’s not always racist but ‘they’ and shit like that is often used that way
That's shows you how dense you are when you don't realize that the term you people was use as a derogatory term and still is
@ that phase don’t only apply to one race. They use it for many other races also. Whats dense is that you think that racism only belongs to one Race and it only happens to one Race as well 🤦🏽♂️
Lol... racists full of cope downvoting this comment hard
Black Americans I'm sorry but youre not special or important
Thanks for playing
@@ghostlee6434it's used as a derogatory term against all groups of people.
Only one group is taught to be offended by it
This proves systemic racism doeant exist...every black person laughing
After this movie, RDJ deserves the pass 😂
