- In this video I weave up some fabric on my rigid heddle loom using some inexpensive knitting yarn, then make a tote bag from the resulting fabric. I demonstrate weaving, wet finishing, cutting the handwoven fabric and sewing the bag.

Very well explained, didn’t miss anything out.
So glad you found it helpful. I really had fun making it. Thanks for watching!
Thanks Grace. I have a rigid heddle loom but I’ve never used it. This would be a good project to try.
You should! This was my very first loom many many years ago. I haven't used it since I got a multi-shaft loom but decided to explore some plain weave projects and this was a perfect loom for that. Plus it's super portable and with camping season coming up I thought I could take it with me! Maybe make a video of camping and weaving 😁 Thanks for watching.
Well done, I really like your project! Could you do other projects with your woven pieces? Thank you for your dedication to our learning.
Thank you! I do a lot of sewing with remnants to make wallets and handbags and I've used a "failed" weaving project to make throw pillow covers. But this is the first project I've woven specifically for a sewing project. If there is interest I could try posting more sewing projects with my handweaving. Thanks for watching ❤️
i recently warped on some knitting yarn, but it seems my yarn is very toothy and the shed is never clear 😂 oh well. thanks for the video ❤
Some yarns are very "sticky" and it's hard to get a good shed. Especially on a rigid heddle loom where the distance in front of the heddle is short. Thanks for watching.
Try another reed. More space in the reed might help. Say you were using a 12 dent try and 8 dpi
