Coming from someone that lived in Charlotte for 60 plus years, I think that I am qualified to tell anyone about Charlotte. Growing up in Charlotte, it was a great experience, and wouldn’t trade it for the world. Schools were great until the early’70’s and then the court ordered desegregation was enacted. That were trying times, but things got better, and then the decline set in. Now they are terrible and many students are going to private schools or are being home schooled. I have two grandchildren in the public system and they literally hate it. Then there’s the crime! I have had two friends gunned down in the last five years, and I am always at a heightened state of my surroundings when I go back. And the traffic speaks for itself! Sure it may not be as bad as major cities, but poor planning has contributed to the congestion. Other than the things listed,plus a few more, it’s a great place!
