I believe that it is time for Charlotte to understand it is no longer just Charlotte but Metro-Charlotte. You have a large region of about what? 20 counties? The future shant be the city of Charlotte, but the metro-area of Charlotte. Charlotte itself may stop growing, but the metro area be growing for a long time. This is what happens to most large cities.

Charlotte needs a live music direct like Nashville ,Art direct. How about closing the Zoo in Asheboro and opening a new location where old Phillip Morris area. Having a Zoo would be nice and convenient and would be bigger than San Diego Zoo. Atlanta has the Aquarium that makes a lot of money for Atlanta.

It’s a freaking joke Charlotte will never be a metropolis. Developers of building high-rise buildings at exponential rate of $2000 plus per month which is above the cost of living and doesn’t measure up nor the income salaries. Aa retiree.,I thank God I was smart when I moved here 10 years ago, not selecting Charlotte to settle in. It’s a false narrative people wake up.

The population increase is incredible... But they need to build a lot more in uptown and south end! Do you know if they are going to try to make the city more urban and more walkable?

Depends on which part of fort mill you live in for 47 years I have lived up near carowinds then near Tega cay and now live in historic area for 20 years which is the best area so far. The only problem is the traffic getting in and out of Fort Mill during specific times of the day so I just stay home And walk or ride my bike.

Left Charlotte, NC for Fort Mill, SC 15 and never looked back. Can't believe you left out Greenville, SC. School districts in SC are much better than NC. Charlotte/Meck has 1 very large school district the is very administrative heavy. York County SC has 4 districts that are much smaller and more responsive to student needs.

He is pretty good at giving you a lot of information, do your homework before you move here, traffic is really horrible, Charlotte has a lot of growing pains, I moved here in the 1980s and the City is about 3 million in the 6 surrounding areas. Tip, live close to your job, or if you are interested in retiring here, careful with the HOAs in planned communities. Buy in a well developed area, that way you know what is around you, because it’s going to change. Tip if you are buying a Townhouse, buy a Townhouse in Town. They are everywhere and at the moment going for $399.000 plus the HOA which always goes up. At least in Town your Townhouse will build equity in the burbs not so much. Good Luck
