Before Luigi was even unlocked as a playable character, I used to play as Mario a lot when I was a kid back then. LOL Sure, I still use/pick Mario in Smash from time to time, but just not as much as I used to back in my younger days.

I do like Playing as Mario in Smash Bros alot cause he's my second favorite Character
One thing I can see from Ultimate is that they really focused on showing Mario’s face as much as possible(probably applies to all other characters too), to the point of altering animations from the previous games just to have him face more towards the player or have his face not be blocked by anything, like with FLUDD’s animation.

Cartoon Nerd In Odyssey, Mario had different expressions, so Smash Ultimate does this thing of show Mario's face as possible to reflect this "feature" of Odyssey (My english is bad)

What's funny is, while Mario smiles in his universe, he doesn't smile in the Smash universe, although in Ultimate he started smiling a bit. Notably, you can see him smiling in his thumbs-up taunt and Cappy taunt.

Good thing that Mario and Bowser got improved to stay in line with the games design wise while still altered for the game’s art style plus Mario being more expressive and Bowser looking more humanoid by Ultimate

4:04 dam chill mario is hitting him intensely
It's crazy how none of Mario's moves in Smash involve his famous dive, triple jump, long jump, somersault jumps, ground pound, or crouch walking.
And his spin jump is only barely represented by his down-air (and in the past his down-special).
I can understand a lot of his power-ups not being represented, but there's some key moves here that he could easily have but doesn't.
His ground pound should be his down air (I would say his forward air should be his dive but his forward air is super iconic so no)

-in 64 and Melee, every character has 1 regular KO scream
-in Brawl onwards, every character has 2 KO screams, except Jigglypuff, Young Link (IIRC), Mewtwo, Roy, Mr. Game & Watch (in Ultimate), Bayonetta, Ridley and the silent ones

I do wish they kept the “YA!” For his Meteor smash. Would make it a lot easier and more satisfying to land. Sure, it would also make it easier to avoid, but it’s well worth the risk.

I think they failed to utilize Cappy. FLUDD should've been replace by cappy, and Mario would capture his opponents for a small period of time. You can mash out of the capture as if you were being grabbed. While captured, the opponent takes damage. It would be possible to catch Cappy and throw it back at Mario, damaging him.
I think Cappy should've made a much more prominent appearance in ultimate.
You should’ve included the animation for Mario’s up special with Cappy.
