Live in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. To me, it's not Christmas without snow. But wanting snow comes from when I was young. Growing up in the 60s before I was a teen, it seemed like we had snow every Christmas. Now that I'm in my mid-60s, I want to see snow. Enjoy the video
Toronto has frigid temperatures. Yesterday widespread ice and strong winds. Roads were icy. Today sunny but still very cold. Yes. please, a white Christmas. We’re surrounded by Great Lakes but haven’t had a white Christmas for some years.
If you want snow in the Atlanta/Greenville/Charlotte corridor you need to see a couple of things. You need the energy coming across from the south or the west, you also need to see the cold air funneling down the east side of the mountains (what they call the wedge in ATL). This is generally caused by a strong high over Hudson Bay. If the energy is coming from the north, it almost never gets over the mountains and fizzles out before it gets to Chattanooga. If the cold air is coming from the NW it never makes it in time and generally arrives right after the precip ends. Looking at these maps, I don't see the right ingredients for a snow event in this corridor
Good morning Gerald!! I am in PLYMOUTH MASS and hoping for a white Christmas. Just want to let you know you’re doing a fantastic job and I come to you for my daily weather.
I'm in Toronto, and believe it or not and to spite being surrounded by the great lakes, we haven't had a major snowstorm here in 3 years. ( that's 10cm or more) it's soooo depressing. . Any chance for a white Christmas this year. ( Won't be surprised if we don't yet again) .When I was younger we never had a green Christmas! Last year , the snowplows never came out once !!!
Is there any reason why am I seeing an rain that is coming from part of Texas and make its way through East Coast on GFS Model? Am I tripping or something?

Nobody ever talks about New Jersey. We are cursed in this state. No snow -- nearly ever! We get cold, hard rain on gray dismal raw days. Depressing.
There is (or was) a Twitter weather page from the NY/NJ area aptly named “33 degrees and rain.”
GOOD MORNING Gerald
Some forecasters are predicting a very bitter cold Jan. as well which remains to be seen.
Benton Maine, already had a white Thanksgiving. 99% gonna have a white Christmas too ( lost almost all the snow 2 days ago)..
Again from Mount Airy,I would say we have a 22 percent chance of a White Christmas.
