    Beautifully filmed and narrated as usual.
    I appreciate it that you allow the tranquility of natures sounds to be heard rather then the sound of musical instruments.🌞

    Another absotively posilutely buckin' frilliant video, bro'! Loved the long pan with music at the head of the vid. In fact, I was just thinking how good your post work has been getting, and then my jaw dropped when I saw the negative comments about the intro. WTF?! Seriously? Someone unsub'd from some of the best backpacking content on Y-T because of a pan shot? What a wacky species our fellow humanoids can be, eh? Glad to see you don't let it bug you.
    On a completely unrelated subject, I've watched every one of your videos, and I just want to say thanks for NOT polluting them with the toxic sewage of political commentary of any kind. There's far too much of it poisoning every form of media, and it's so tiresome, so divisive, so irrelevant, and it solves absolutely nothing. The Y-T channels that are of the very highest quality have none of it, and yours is among them. For my part, I really appreciate that...in addition to your superb content. 😎

      Thanks appreciate it! I don't see value in politicizing outdoors content, unless it's about preserving public lands. These places were here before humans and their politics, and they will be here long after we're gone. And that makes me feel all warm and tingly to think about, haha.

      I’m really trying to get immersed in the local backcountry now that I live over here. It’s low hanging fruit during the short winter days. Sky island country is pretty cool. Glad you’ve enjoyed!

    I admire your fortitude! I'm usually in a state of semi-hibernation in December and January. Glad the neoprene socks work for you; I still like the submersible, breathable type. You really capture the beauty of the high desert in winter; sorry the critics "panned" some of it; it's a good way to convey the vastness of the landscape when using a tripod as you did. I mean, Peter Jackson did that in Lord of the Rings.. .I rest my case. Anyhow, hey, you're only around 4 hours from the Gila and Leopold Wilderness now!

      I usually get a couple trips in over the winter and they are always low desert, so it was a treat to get some snow into this one. I could have made it much tougher as the snow got deep going higher into the Rincons. But I hike for enjoyment (mostly). I'll be spending some time in NM this upcoming season - being 4 hrs to Gila certainly factored into my being open to Tucson.

      Thank you! They ones I have are BPS Storm socks, 3mm. From the amazon. I sized up to be able to layer wool toe socks underneath.

    How do you like the torrid trousers? Good video. One of these days I will probably run into you on the trail. I’ve met a lot of influencers from az but you seem to be pretty reclusive!

    • @WildlandExplorer
      @WildlandExplorer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They’re great, I use them more than I thought I would. Just wish they were longer inseam. I’d go for a custom order instead of the stock ones. I am fairly reclusive in part because I’m not into social media and also been treated not great by someone who is prominent in the AZ backcountry community. I guess they consider me a competitor or something, lol IDK. Anyway I’m putting together an entirely off trail route in white canyon (AZ) for mid-late Feb. My buddy Dave is probably gonna join in. Just 3 days route so far. Lemme know if you want to join up!

      @@WildlandExplorer sounds like an awesome trip but I already have commitments that weekend. However, I would be interesting in doing a trip with you one of these times. And yes, I completely understand what you mean and probably even know who your talking about. One website in particular is bad news. Thanks again for the reply!

    29:47 is a stunner. You are great at rock shots, but you outdid yourself here. This looks like a watercolour painting, and I am sure you could reproduce it such, made possible by the Tuscon haze.

    • @WildlandExplorer
      @WildlandExplorer  ปีที่แล้ว

      Really appreciate it! This trip was fun to color grade. The haze from nearby Tucson makes it more challenging to get clear shots of these mountains.

    • @edgeplay4205
      @edgeplay4205 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WildlandExplorer Clear air shots are easy - working creatively with haze, mist, smoke, any transient atmosphere is about being in the right place at the right moment. Congrads.
